34 - Pressuring a Tree

Shaking, the tree stopped releasing the light. The pressure coming from Coldin began to crush he rocks around him as he walked towards the tree.

"You've cost the lad and now you will repay it in full, whether you like it or not" said a voice that didn't sound like Coldin.

The golden pupils started to flicker more intensely as Coldin stretched out his arm and grasped part of the tree in his hand.

"You either come willingly or I'll reduce you down to saw dust.." said the voice as coldins grasp started to tighten on the bark.

The tree once again started to let out the lights from before but this time a dark almost black colour started flowing out next to it as a tree almost identical to the original emerged next to it only having a much darker overall colour.

Once both of the trees became lights themselves and flowed into Coldin, a dark black ring appeared behind his back.

Following this Coldin's torso heated up new bones twisted their way around Coldin's ribs creating a weave of bones but still allowing a form of flexibility.

In the centre of his chest an image of a lotus split in half with one side being black and the other being white appeared then disappeared from onto of his skin.

Smiling to himself Coldin or rather Coldin's body nodded as the voice rang out again. "This boy is both lucky and unlucky in equal measure"

After finishing this sentence Coldin's body expanded to its knew full height of 29 meters tall, easily penetrating through the ground.

Once outside Coldin left the island as it crumbled behind him. Heading back to the island where he left the inn owner and he others on.

A short distance away from the island the other island Coldin heard about could be seen crumbling at the same time. The rubble from the islands drifted into the sea until the islands where no more.

Reaching the island that has the others of Coldin's group his body began to shrink and the gold colour in his pupils faded as some final words came out of his mouth "kid, this is the best I can do...."

Back with the inn owner in the tavern, Min was starting to get antsy due to Coldin being gone for too long.

Over the past year they had build up almost a brother and sister relationship, due to being roughly the same age.

When Coldin first set out to the islands Min had begged the owner to at least help him but all she got back in response was 'no, he's his own person, I'm not willing to risk my life for something that can be avoided with time' when she first heard this she was bursting with anger but over time this feeling settled as she began to understand the logic behind it.

She went back to her normal days of looking after the customers but at the end of the week a feeling of dread filled her. She was worried, he'd been gone for too long.

Getting no help from the owner or Lee to help calm her nerves she decided to take a walk on the beach to try calm them instead.

Half way down the beach she noticed a crowd of people surrounding something big. Making her way over to the crowd she was shocked to see that the group was looking down at a giant Coldin sprawled out on the beach, out cold.
