14 - Playing Fair

Later that night a party was thrown for Coldin gaining his second spirit ring in En Ci's private house. Laughter filled the air, Ma and Ro were arm wrestling of a piece of meat that Chloe just took without them realising. En Ci sat at the head of a table drinking tea and watching the surroundings liveliness. Coldin sat with Chloe and Long Yue chatting happily and occasionally poking fun at the others.

Everyone was happy. Later that night. Coldin could be seen outside on a balcony overlooking the academy and part of he lake. His eyes looking off to the horizon.

A door opened behind him and Chloe came out, not saying a work she moved over to Coldin's side to mimic him in looking off into the distance.

"I still haven't changed my mind Chloe. This is something I have to do."

Coldin said with a serious voice. Chloe didn't move nor did she reply.

A few minutes later she finally said "I know. I just wish we could come with you..." at the end of her talking she hung her head down fighting back tears that threatened to spill out.

"I do too, I do too" Coldin muttered before sighing. He turned to Chloe putting his hand on her shoulder he slowly moved her to face him and said to her face "I'm truly thankful for everything and I don't know when but I will be back to visit I swear"

Chloe looked up to Coldin and smiled showing that she believed in him. Coldin's face turned a light pink in awe of Chloe's beauty under the moon light. He had nothing left to say but he didn't want to leave her alone so he sat down in one of the many chairs that the balcony had, thinking Chloe would sit with him for a bit.

Chloe giggled a little bit at Coldin's sudden shyness and before he could do anything she kissed him.

Coldin's eyes went round. It was known throughout the academy that Coldin had a crush on Chloe but not everyone knew that Chloe held the same feelings.

Smiling Chloe turned around and walked back inside leaving a motionless Coldin.

Sighing Coldin went back to looking at the horizon muttering "now that's not playing fair" a tear ran down his face. Before this he was reluctant to go and now he felt even more so but deep down he knew if he didn't do this he would regret it for the rest of his life.

The next day Coldin with the help of Long Yue began to arrange everything he needed for his journey or at least enough for the first part of it.

Food, water and money. Theses where everything that Coldin needed. He didn't need clothing as he already carried around twenty or so of his now iconic shorts in his silver wolf band (spirit boned spacial storage) and while a normal human would get cold always wearing just shorts Coldin wasn't normal.

After preparing everything he treated Long Yue to a meal. The restaurant they found was one of the few places Coldin could eat as most places couldn't accommodate for his size. Their table was quickly filled with dishes and they began eating as they chatted about anything.

"Brother when do you plan to leave?" Said Long Yue before he tore into a chicken leg. Coldin finished his mouthful of beef before replying with

"About a weeks time, what you expect me to miss you gaining another ring?"

Long Yue laughed "so you noticed. I plan on going to the spirit pavilion in two days time. Would you like to come with me? I want to see if some of your miraculous luck will rub off on me"

"Hahah you wish brother Yue but sure why not I must admit I am curious as to what you will obtain"
