Chapter 4 — Spirit Awakening (2)

The street made out of stones were crowded by the villagers walking around and selling their items.

At the dense street, a fat boy with short brown hair was running, pushing through the crowds wildly.

Pant..!

The boy was panting heavily as his round belly keeps bouncing up and down.

This boy was called as Fang Lin or Fatty for short. He too changed in appearance like Yu Long with his rounded figure seemingly getting more fluffy and have a changed into his mentality.

The reason for his changed in mind was because of Yu Long's Influence during these past one years.

Yu Long who slowly climbed in strength, saved Fatty many times from the toxic bullies and encouraged him many times.

Fatty then gradually changed under Yu Long's act of bravery and his words of encouragement.

He evolved into a shameless Fatty.

Pant..!

"Yu Long... wait!"

Fatty shouted while trying to reach his hands toward Yu Long.

Yu Long stopped at his tract and turned his head around as he heard Fatty's voice.

Sigh...

Yu Long released a sighed as he spotted the disheveled appearance of Fatty.

"You overslept didn't you..?"

Yu Long crossed his arms together as his gaze swept through Fatty's appearance.

"No, no! I didn't overslept! I helped Aunty Bai by carrying her heavy bags!" Fatty quickly said while shaking his arms in denial.

"Really?" Yu Long raised his eyebrows as he asked.

His face showed 'I don't believe it'.

"Really! Carrying all that heavy bag made my body sore!" Fatty creased his brows in pain while swinging his right arm around.

"But, I heard that Aunty Bai went toward another village to meet his sister," Yu Long said while grinning.

"...!" Fatty eyes dilated as he frozed hearing that.

Sweats started formed across his forehead.

Cough!

"Anyway, we should hurry toward the spirit awakening ceremony!" Fatty said trying to change the topic.

"Okay," Yu Long chuckled hearing what Fatty said.

"I wonder what spirit will be? A Dragon? A Phoenix?" Fatty asked with his eyes sparkling brightly.

"What dragon and phoenix? A pig should be more appropriate for you!" Yu Long gave a teasing look toward Fatty while smiling.

Fang Lin stopped walking after hearing what Yu Long said.

"Are you mocking me!?" Fatty face was entirely red as he stared angrily toward Yu Long.

"Yes, I'm indeed mocking you," Yu Long said with his lips curling up.

He quickly started to run toward the church with Fatty chasing after him, but the game of tag was like a pig trying to catch up to a lion.

"Taste my heavenly wrath!" Fatty shouted loudly.

Many children were gathered outside of the Stone Village church. The place was filled with noises coming from the children talking to each other.

Yu Long and Fatty had just arrived outside the church and was amazed at the sight.

"Wow, so many people are gathered here," Fatty muttered toward Yu Long.

This was the the first time the two of them saw this many people.

An old man then silently walked toward the children's location with a solemn look. The old man wore a clothes entirely colored in grey which was the villages lucky color.

The children immediately noticed this old man and one thought entered their heads.

The Village Head had arrived!

"All of you, be quiet!" The village head shouted loudly for all the children to hear him.

The children immediately became silent under the village head eyes.

"Line up!"

The children formed two lines. A line for the boys and a line for the girls.

Yu Long and Fatty were at the very back of the boys line.

"Before you all go inside the church and undergo the spirit awakening, let me tell you all something. Some of you guys maybe lucky or some maybe unlucky," The village head took a deep breath and continued with a warm and gentle face. "But as your village head, I can only say good luck to you all!"

"Thank you village head!"

The children immediately turned heated as they all thanked the village head. Some even wanted to cry.

The village head walked toward the church door and placed his hand on the handle.

"Be respectful toward the grand ancestor inside," The village head said as he slowly opened the large wooden door.

The door completely opened up and all the children saw the inside of the church.

Standing on the podium, a tall man silently stood there without any sound. His broad back was facing the childrens.

The man had a black flowing hair with a well-made white robe covering his large body.

A strong and aloof aura was releasing from the man's body

Gulped!

The children gulped down their dry saliva. Even Yu Long who have his body and soul strengthened felt slightly intimidated.

They all soon entered the church with the door behind them closing slowly.

The village head did not enter the church with the children and waited patiently outside.

The childrens were silent as they stared the man.

They were deeply afraid that any slight noise they make will enraged the man.

–Cough!

The man finally released a sound, he turned around making his face to be seen.

The man was handsome with his cold light-brown eyes sweeping through the children.

The man opened his mouth and spoke coldly with hints of pride.

"I am Lin Feng a member of Spirit Hall." Lin Feng said as he took a deep breath.

「 Flame Leopard Body Enhancement! 」

Fiery wisp appeared on his chest and spread across his whole body, causing his body to transform.

His hair turned into red dreadlocks, his brown eyes turning into red, with red furs growing from his skin and sharp claws extension out from his two hands.

The children seeing Lin Feng transformation was shocked and scared.

Yu Long was amazed and curious seeing his transformation.

Four halos soon started to rise below Lin Feng feet, rising toward the crown of his head.

Two of the rings was colored yellow and the last two, being purple.

"I"m Lin Feng, a rank – 41 Spirit Ancestor with my spirit being a Flaming Leopard and a Power-agility System."

Lin Feng said coldly.

"Before I awakened you all, I will first tell your all in advanced the one law that governed this world—The survival of the fittest!"

A dark, thin smile hanged on Lin Feng's face.

"Those with power can survive and achieved fame. On the other hand weaklings has no right in this world. Thus today, this ceremony will determined your fate."

"Now let's start the awakening ceremony. The awakening ceremony of fate!"
