Chapter 2

On her way out of the conference room, Eva checked her phone to see if she has received any notification but to her surprise, it was her mother's message she saw 'You ingrate, have you forgotten today is your mother's birthday, it's past noon and you still haven't called to wish me happy birthday, anyways I just received your flower and birthday card with the cheap jewellery you got. By the way, your younger brother got me the latest Chic bag that cost 8million and that is not the only thing he bought. Anyways will you be coming to my party this year or you will look for an excuse not to attend again this year? At least let Rosie come" Eva smiled to herself and thought man this woman doesn't know when to stop. Anyways she can't be bothered replying the text or going to the party even if she was free, and Rosie doesn't even like her as well, not my fault. This woman only gave birth to her without caring for her and she is always blaming her for ruining her life and making her life miserable. All she cares about is her luxurious life and son.

Well, I'm past that...feeling down because of someone that doesn't give a shit bout my life...or who doesn't care bout my progress.

"The presents have been delivered ma'am," Lilian said

"Oh yeah I know, thanks by the way" Eva replied. As they stepped out the building to where the driver is already waiting to pick them up.

The location of the company's warehouse is just 20 minutes drive from the headquarters. Eva went to inspect the new collections and see if there will be adjustments before the release of this edition next month.

After making sure everything is up to date with the new edition, Eva decided to make her way home so she can freshen up for the event at 5 and the time was already 3:45 pm, she knew she was running late, and needed to get home as soon as possible if she doesn't want to be extremely late.

As soon as she got home, she had a quick shower and quickly did a simple makeup and decides that she wants her hair in a ponytail with strands on both sides. She walked into her closet and chose a dress that is her brand but it hasn't been launched yet, it's an ivory mermaid off shoulder long sleeves dress with pearls details. Looking at herself in the mirror she was satisfied with the dress hinged to her body bringing out every curve and shape she's got. As she got out of her walk-in closet "wow mommy you look so beautiful like a mermaid princess...no QUEEN...cos I'm the princess" Rosie says with admiration " awww my princess thank you so much, your Queen is glad to have a beautiful and caring princess by her side" Eva replied while hugging her daughter.

"Are you going to an event?" Rosie asked

"Yes hun, it's really important and I'm sorry I won't be back early to tuck you in tonight but I promise I will make it up to you darling, so let NaNa tuck you in today she will soon be arriving " Eva replied while putting on her other accessories.

"NaNa is coming, yay I'm happy. I understand mummy has to work and go to events so that you can be a successful and rich businesswoman" Rosie giggled.

"That's right my princess I have to be successful and rich so I can take good care of you and NaNa comfortably" Eva replied.

"Knock Knock" Elizabeth Williams shouted

"Grandma" "NaNa"

Both of them went to hug her as they were so excited to see her.

"NaNa I miss you" Rosie still hugging her Nana

"Missed you too my pumpkin "

"Grandma, I've got to go now, I hope you are staying with us for the next couple of weeks or months *winks*," Eva said

"Not only weeks you should have said years *eyeing her granddaughter*, but I'm also only staying one week max and that is because of my sweet precious great-granddaughter," Liz said

"I thought I was your only sweet and precious pumpkin," Eva said jokingly,

"Well you went bitter, and now I only have my one and only sweet and precious little pumpkin here," Liz said teasing her granddaughter.

"Well, one thing for sure I was your first" before she stormed out of the room where her secretary was waiting downstairs in the living.

"Wow you look stunning," Lilian said it under her breath after been captivated by her boss's beauty once again. She thought how can someone be this beautiful and endowed with the right curves and shape even though she has already given birth before. She only wonders why her boss doesn't talk about her daughter's dad or any man in particular. Well, none of my business. She's my boss after all, she can't just start asking for relationship advice from me.

"What do you think?" Eva saw here staring at her.

"You look breathtaking ma'am" Lilian responded.

"Thanks" Eva replied.
