Doryoku

Doryoku, the Japanese word for Endeavor or Effort, is what the human population will have to endure to survive. 2093, the population of Earth forced to mass exodus. After years of mass consumption and depletion of vital resources, the Earth has finally expired. Fortunately, the discovery of a habitable planet and the advancements of super - light travel has given humanity a hope for survival. The U.I.E.U., United Interstellar Exodus Union sets off towards the planet Gavel - 17f in pursuit of a new home. All of humanity, separated into massive ships called Craft Worlds. Each craft world is separated into 26 ring like structures called Units. No one is allowed to enter or leave new units. Atlas Shiokaze a 17 year old citizen of the American Japanese Union, has been on the the U.S.S. Phalanx Unit B for the past 7 years. The same people, places and perceptions, the staleness of life and boredom has finally robbed him of his happiness. Longing for a new life and a new perception of the world, he decides traverses the units. Danger, peril, adventure and romance follows as Atlas Shiokaze follows his endeavor. Follow Atlas week by week and chapter by chapter as he discovers a world unknown to him in a collection of shorts that I call Doryoku.
