23 DWDSS Chapter 22 - Xiao Ning'er Reformed

Though Sarasvati had hypnotised Xiao Ning'er to be affable to them, it was still based on the prelude that they behaved nicely to her. She had not made Ning'er their slave. Hence, after they went to Reino's mansion, Reino made Sarasvati explain exactly what was wrong with Ning'er.

"Ning'er" Reino began "I want you to listen what we are going to say next very carefully. You are currently suffering from a disease, related to your cultivation. If you continue as you are, then you will probably die."

"What ?!!" Disbelief could be seen clearly from Ning'er' s eyes and expression. But Ning'er decided to wait for them to explain as so far, she only had nice impression of Reino. He was mature funny and very likeable. Also, she wasn't a fool to not notice that he was pretty strong.

"I will take it from there" Sarasvati interrupted "Look, I am a very good physicist and alchemist, among other things. I know you might not believe me but just listen for now. If my diagnosis proves false then you may leave and we will never bother you again."

After Ning'er nodded, Sarasvati continued "Xiao Ning'er, you are suffering from a peculiar disease called Arctic Disease. When night falls, don't both of your legs feel as if they're being burned by fire? Not only do both of your legs feel as if they were being burned by fire, your body would be extremely cold. Every night at midnight it would feel as if it was hailing on your body. It would be terribly painful. Even training your soul force wouldn't be possible, would it?"

With each word, Xiao Ning'er went paler. She no longer doubted Reino or Sarasvati, yet her shock kept her silent as she listened to Sarasvati's explanation.

"By training at night, it would often lead to chilled air entering the body, blocking the veins. The Arctic Disease would, in light cases, cause the person to get seriously ill, and in serious cases, it would cause the body to explode. In addition to the symptoms I told before, your body should be bruised in certain areas. Those bruises should be extremely painful and not only do they not dissipate, they should also be spreading around the body."

"It's good that you haven't stepped into 1-star Bronze rank yet," Reino took it from there "but once you do, in the best-case scenario, you will get seriously ill and your cultivation will be greatly reduced. In the worst-case scenario, you will die."

Drops of crystal-like tears sprouted in Xiao Ning'er' s eyes. Ever since she was young, her family had been wanting for her to marry into the Sacred Family, by marrying Shen Fei who was an absolute playboy who had raped dozens of girls till date. As she grew up, Xiao Ning'er gradually learned what kind of person Shen Fei was.

Because she didn't want to get married to that playboy, she started practicing very hard with hopes of getting rid of this cruel fate. Unfortunately, the heavens didn't seem to want to let her do so, since she who would soon reach 1-star Bronze rank, suddenly got to hear such news.

"Ning'er," Reino said while patting her shoulder "we wouldn't have called you here to tell such news if we didn't have a solution for you. Trust in us and we won't ever let you down."

While a tiny seed of hope sprouted in Ning'er' s eyes, Sarasvati got to work. She took out a beast skin scroll she had made previous and started imprinting a cultivation technique in it using her Soul Force. She had already scanned Ning'er' s soul while she had hypnotized her and she knew everything about her. Ning'er had a Wind Lightning Soul Attribute with a Winged Dragon Soul Form and Green Soul Realm.

With help of this data, Sarasvati designed a customized cultivation for Ning'er based on a Demon Spirit she had Reino summon and seal for Ning'er. This was a Demon Spirit that was most compatible to Ning'er' s Soul Form and Soul Attribute. The Demon Spirit's name was Saint Dragon of Heavenly Tribulation – Naga Raja. It was a snake demon that had evolved into a winged dragon king by absorbing the energy of Heavenly Tribulation Lightning.

Customized or those who can absorb Saint Dragon of Heavenly Tribulation – Naga Raja, Sarasvati created the Heavenly Dragon's Dominion Chant. It was an absolutely tyrannical technique, that purified your body constantly with pulses of Heavenly Thunder internally.

User had to constantly use Heavenly Dragon's Dominion Chant to resist the Heavenly Thunder. Their bones, muscles, organs and skin, everything will be refined with Heavenly Thunder. Ultimately the user will be immune to all forms of poisons, curses and harmful invasive energies. The user will also gain a tyrannically powerful physique and control over Heavenly Thunder in their every attack.

Under Ning'er' s wide eyes, Sarasvati presented the cultivation technique to Reino who then passed it on to Ning'er along with the Demon Spirit Crystal of the Saint Dragon of Heavenly Tribulation – Naga Raja. Ning'er kept the Demon Spirit crystal in her spatial storage ring and first opened the cultivation technique. Under Reino's urging, she went with him to his training room downstairs before trying the cultivation technique out.

The minute she started circulating the technique, energies of heaven and earth rushed to her. Her fair skin flushed and few sparks of lightning emerged from her skin. Slowly, dark-bluish gaseous energy and blackish ooze seeped out of Ning'er.

The moment she completed a single circulation of the technique, Ning'er let out a deep seductive nasally moan that made her flush harder. Her entire body felt supremely comfortable and all the pain she used to feel earlier while cultivating had all vanished.

She could also feel that she will step into Bronze level with another day of cultivation. Also, all the energy previously stored in her had been purified. Her body felt stronger and more comfortable than ever before. Suddenly she smelt a slight odour slowly spreading around her. Opening her eyes, she found that her body and dress were stained with black ooze and Reino had disappeared while leaving Sarasvati behind.

"I think you are already healed up mostly from your ailment. The trace of heavenly thunder energy you just obtained would have already cleared up all the harmful yin energies. Plus, your physique has got stronger by a few levels. Oh, and don't worry about the black ooze, that is just the impurities of your body that has been expelled by the purification process you underwent."

"Your meridians and blood vessels will be stronger than ever and you will be able to manipulate enormous amounts of energy easily now. Anyway, ditch those clothes, I have some new ones for you and you can take a bath right there in the bathroom behind you. There is water and fragrant soap there so you can clean up nicely."

Coming back from her bath, Ning'er found that Sarasvati had kept some folded leather clothes on top of a wooden stool for her. Wearing them, she found that they were a pair of leather pants with an undershirt and leather jacket, all in black. The clothes had no visible stitching lines and somehow fit her very precisely, showing of all her curves and complimented her figure very nicely.

Fixing up her hair in a high ponytail, Xiao Ning'er was extremely impressed with the softness, comfort and the style of clothes. Deciding to ask Sarasvati where she bought these clothes later, Ning'er went up and found out the duo sitting in the hall above, waiting for her.

"Thank you for the clothes Sarasvati, can you tell me where you got them?"

"Don't mind it Ning'er" Sarasvati replied "Also you can't get those clothes anywhere else, because I was the one who made them."

Seeing Ning'er' s surprise Reino chuckled softly "Sarasvati's a girl of many talents. Stick around and you will see much more that you won't be able to believe."

Ning'er could just nod in reply, she had already seen more than she would have ever thought possible. Remembering about her ailment, she informed them of her current status.

"I feel much better than before, as if a weight has been lifted off my body. Plus, the bruises have all but faded away. I had two major ones, of which the smaller one has almost completely disappeared, and the bigger one looks like it will fade in a day or two. I should also be able to step through bronze rank in about the same time."

"I should say congrats then," Reino said with a smile and patted Ning'er' s head. Seeing him smile at her Ning'er blushed, unable to look at him in the eyes. Thinking about something, she suddenly asked.

"Hey Reino, are you and Sarasvati siblings?" Ning'er asked hopefully.

"No," Reino said carefully, not wanting to lie yet hiding the full truth "Sarasvati and I can be called partners. We have been taking care of each other since probably the whole time I have been in this world."

Ning'er felt slightly disappointed but she immediately perked herself up. Reino felt confused at her reaction but decided to ignore it.

"Ning'er, you cultivate properly with the technique Sarasvati gave. Once you get to silver level, you can fuse with the demon spirit I gave you. You will be able fuse its minimal effort as the cultivation is almost perfectly suited to it. Also, the Demon spirit has one of the topmost growth rates amongst demon spirits, a God Rank Growth rate. It will grow stronger along with you rapidly. Also, the power it has for each level is phenomenal."

"Thank you Reino," Ning'er said "I don't know how to thank you for this. You guys saved my life, gave me hope for future and supported me. I owe my entire life to you guys."

"Don't be so dramatic Ning'er" Reino laughed while rubbing her head gently "What is all this between us friends, unless you don't consider us friends?"

"No, of course I do" Ning'er said while holding Reino's and Sarasvati's hands "Friends for life, no matter what!!"

Reino and Sarasvati just smiled, before Reino defused the situation with random talks and humour. They chatted and had fun for a while before Kang Bai served them dinner. Reino dropped Ning'er home after that while Sarasvati started working on Cultivation Techniques for Reino and Herself with experience she had got after designing cultivation technique for Ning'er. She was determined to make something even greater and her eyes shined with unconcealed enthusiasm.
