6 6: The truth

"What!! are you serious? you're the one who put me through all those near-death situations?"

"That's me!!"

Sage was devastated, at the fact that the person who did not only let him suffer but also brought him to the brink of death, was none other than his saviour, an worst of all his first love.

"Well, Sage welcome to The Spirit Forest, I hope you enjoy your stay here." Logia greeted him with a smile.

"You see I brought you here for a very good reason." Logia tried to explain himself, but Sage was too shocked by his current situation, a realisation about Logia being a guy made his mind go blank.

Logia noticed Sage's absent-mindedness and that drew the last straw of his patience.

"Agh!! that's it I can't take this anymore!! I try to ack nice and what do I get? silence!! hey you knucklehead!!"

Sage turned to look at Logia.

"Yeah, you! I'm talking to you! what's your problem? just because I put you in a practically inescapable death trap doesn't mean you have to be so rude! how dare you? do you even know who I am!?!"

Sage was finally willing to open his mouth, but what came out was not what one would expect from the level headed Sage.

"And what gives you the right to say anything!?

do you know what I've been through because of you!? do you know the trauma that I'm going to face for the rest of my life because of you!? I just lost my first experience of falling in love to you!!"

Logia began to laugh, he thought Sage was mad at him for putting him through hell, but it was something as trivial as first love.

"Well, it's not my fault if you mistook me for a girl."

"Aggh I can't stand you!!"

"But, all jokes aside I've got to tell you something and it's really important, so listen up."

Sage paused for a while and then nodded in agreement.

"Okay"

They went back into the cottage to begin the discussion.

>>>>

The atmosphere became tense and the whole cottage was silent. It was so quiet that you could hear the river's reserved movements.

"Alright, here goes. Cough! cough!... The earth is doomed."

Sage's expression was filled with disappointment.

"Tell me something I don't know, the large objects that fell from the sky already caused turmoil. Countless cities are already destroyed."

"No, no that's not what I mean, that incident was only the beginning."

Sage's face became pale, he began to panic. He grabbed Logia's shoulders and began to shake him desperately.

"What did you just say!!? tell me that's not true right!?, it isn't true right!?"

"Calm...down! and stop shaking me, it's the truth, more events are going to happen eventually and there is nothing we can do to stop them"

Sage let go of Logia and sat back down on the bed. His head became engulfed with thoughts about his mother and Mark.

"No way what will happen to Mark!? will he be okay!? and what about mom!?"

While Sage was in the middle of thinking, Logia step out of the cottage. A few minutes later he returned with the black sword Sage picked up before he fell unconscious in the dungeon. He placed it's on the floor and with a calm voice started speaking.

"Look, Sage, I know you are worried at the moment but, I really need to inform you about this...

In two days everyone on earth will receive a notification screen, just like the one you receive when you entered the cave. Not only that, but the earth will also be swarmed by monsters just like the ones you saw in the dungeon, and others even more powerful and dangerous."

Logia ceased explaining to see what expression Sage had on his face. He looked traumatized, Sage knew that Logia meant every word he just said, but he wasn't going to believe that easily.

"How can I trust your words when we just met?, prove to me that I can trust you."

Logia was surprised and glad, he felt that Sage was a person who would one day become powerful, so he decided to reveal his true identity to him.

"Alright fine, I'll tell you... actually I do not form the earth or this dimension to be exact, I am from a place called 'Vint', it is a place like earth, the only difference is that people can use magic... and I am none other than the ruler of that domain."

Logia's hands emitted yellow light, which established a ball-like structure, this was Logia's home.

Sage was awed by Logia's claim but it still wasn't enough to convince him.

"If you're the ruler, then what are you doing here on earth?"

"I was betrayed by my only disciple, Tray... I was attacked from behind by magic and he took my staff which contains immense power, I got injured... and the only way to escape death was to come to earth."

Sage thought about the situation very carefully and can to a realisation.

"So it was your drawback that caused the large objects to fall into earth!? It was your fault that my friends and family are now in danger!?"

Logia turned away with eyes filled with guilt, not knowing what to do Sage soon recovered from the impact and asked Logia to continue his explanation.

"And because I came to this realm, Tray has discovered it and is now planning to destroy it. He plans to send monsters into this realm to kill me, and this could also mean the end of humanity."

Everything that was said at once was too much for Sage, he felt like the knowledge he once held was nothing but garbage.

"Then what about the notification in two days?"

"Ah that, before I escaped I was able to grab some of my equipment, which gave me the power to create a system called 'Marco', it's a self-operated system that will give humanity the chance to grow stronger and fight to survive."

"It is something like the blue screen that appeared before me?"

"Yes, however, yours is special, I created a separate system for the one who is to become my successor. You are the only one who can save humanity and stop the world from getting into deeper turmoil. Please defeat Tray!
