1 Chapter 1 - Prologue
[MC's POV]
'What a beautiful day indeed! birds are chirping happily, the streets are lively, its as if today would be the last day on earth.'
"And what better way to start my day than a nice cup of coffee!"
I stopped watching the scenery outside my window, and turned back to go to the kitchen in order to use the coffee maker.
"Let's see.... Are there still any coffee beans left in here?" I said as I look inside the kitchen cabinets.
"Ah! Bingo! come to daddy," I then grabbed the coffee bean bag and proceeded to pour the coffee beans into the coffee maker.
"Now I just need to wait for them to turn into liquid coffee, I still got some minutes to spare before that happens so I might as well kill time by looking at the scenery outside."
<Sometime later>
"Now that I finished my coffee, going for a light jog might not be that bad."
I then went ahead and climbed upstairs my house and entered my room, I began to change my entire outfit into that fitting for going a jog in the streets.
The place where I like to call as my home isn't all that fancy or luxurious, its just a normal modern 2-storey house just like most of the houses in the neighbourhood.
I bought this house in this peaceful neighbourhood using my parent's life insurance, my mother and father died on a train accident while going to work, the train suddenly went off rail and began to crash into the house and buildings nearby the area.
The accident of course, took the life of my beloved parents.
Once I saw the accident report, I was devastated...
What were the odds of it happening on my birthday? It was like fate was playing a sick joke in my life.
The life insurance money my parent's left me was enough for me to live alone peacefully and continue my education till I graduated, and get a suitable and comfortable job in the society.
However, I beg to differ. I chose to buy a 2-storey house in this nice and quiet neighbourhood, well to be fair, it was a rural neighbourhood so its kind of a given for it to be nice and peaceful.
I dropped out of University and tried to live a peaceful slow life in this neighbourhood.
But of course, I have my own hobbies that I very much love. I started to like agriculture and started to make a mini farm of mine in my backyard, it was pretty relaxing if I say so myself. I started watching anime and reading mangas, I bought some mangas off online stores, and watched anime on crunchyroll, my pride prevents me from watching at pirate sites.
I also started playing games, I played so many games that I don't remember some of them, well I do remember some of the popular ones like the Assassins Creed franchise.
I recently got into the apocalypse genre of games and animes, such as the fallout franchise and highschool of the dead.
I am quite fond of imagining myself surviving in a zombie apocalypse or a nuclear apocalypse, especially zombie apocalypse.
I watched a movie called Kingdom, it was a movie set in an ancient dynasty, basically it was a zombie apocalypse movie but in an ancient dynasty era, its pretty impressive to see them hold off the zombies using cold weapons.
'Huh? now that I think about it... People in that movie can hold off against zombie hordes by using swords, bows, etc... But why is it that when it comes to the modern era where firearms and massive weapons of mass destruction exist... They get overwhelmed with zombies when they can literally shoot them at a distance and not get bitten? I guess I'll take that as the panicking civilians' fault.'
Although I've got my hobbies to support me and help me not have a mental breakdown from loneliness, I still have yet to find a girlfriend since birth...
I do try to flirt with a girl but it always somehow fails, sometimes they also say something when they reject me, something along the lines of "I don't date playboys," I don't get it... Just because I look a bit handsome doesn't mean im a playboy, heck I've still got my V-Card intact my whole life.
'There's no use thinking about it, but I really do think I need a girlfriend now, im already 20 years old! im at the prime of my life! but im still alone my whole life. Those anime girls in the animes that I've watched were undoubtedly better than real life girls though.'
'Might as well head back home and water my plants, and watch anime.'
<30 minutes worth of jogging later>
"Ah..... Home sweet home! all that light exercise made my throat dry, i need to drink some water first and maybe take a rest for 20 minutes before watering my crops," I then went to the kitchen refrigerator to get water.
"Well, im going to rest for 20 minutes or so before going to the backyard to water my crops, in the meantime, I could read some mangas instead of watching anime. There was this manga called Kimi no koto ga daidaidai... Actually just search 100 Kanojo, the actual name of the manga is too long."
"I heard that Rentarou got his 11th girlfriend in the latest chapter (Chapter 45) from reddit, might as well read it."
<20 minutes later>
"I guess I should go and water the crops now," I said, as I went to the backyard of my house, the sunlight then hit my eye as I walk towards water hose to water my crops.
"Nothing beats a wonderful sunny day indeed, I think this day will be the new best peaceful day in my memory, and I am 99% sure that nothing can ruin it!"
Well... That's what i thought, till I saw what looks like a Game HUD in front of my face saying...
