32 Cruise's goal

As Miles and Rebecca were sent to the infirmary, only Jun Li and Azreal showed worry for the situation. The second years seemed to have their focus on a different matter. Mason even smirked as he saw his Brother being pulled away by the ambulance.

Brian was not very happy about the outcome of this fight. He had wanted a straight 3 win. sadly, It seems he would have to be fine with a 3 to 1 win.

As he was going up the stage, he had expected the challengers to pick a weak link and forfeit the match but, to his surprise, they picked their second strongest fighter, Drew. Brian scoffed as he saw this. Although their difference was only 1 level, it would be harder and harder to level up each time and the strength you receive each level would also increase.

As Brian looked down at the chubby kid that probably hadn't dropped his Adam's apple, he could not help but laugh.

On the other hand, Drew was very determined. In fact, Mark, Maryline and Elijah all wanted to fight this guy. In truth they all had their grudges about him but when they thought about it, it would be hard to keep a stable mind when fighting someone you have a grudge with. During to this, Don and Vivian had refused their request. In the end the challenge was pushed onto Drew the scapegoat.

Drew brought out his large shield. Brian could not help but feel annoyed. He hated Warriors for this reason. As soon as Cruise saw that they were both ready, he blew the horn.

Unlike Lars and adem, Drew chose to see how his opponent would act first. Brian did not waste time and brought out his shining saber and went for his stomach. Drew swiftly blocked the incoming attack.

Brian was bewildered as he saw this. He did not think that this small kid would be so quick. Suddenly Drew pushed Brian back with his shield by using shockwave. Brian took a few steps back before he stabilized himself.

During this time, Drew took this momment to manipulate the ground in order to create a second Shield on his right hand. Cruise smiled mysteriously as he saw this. Brian looked at Drew oddly as he went in for another attack. This time, Drew did not defend and instead, he went for the offense. He clashed his Zander with Brian's sword. He blocked Brian's sword with Zander and then got a hit on Brian with his second shield.

Brian groaned and he fell backwards again. Standing in a more serious stance, Brian felt very annoyed. How was he supposed to evade those stupid shields?

Suddenly Brian started to radiate his earth energy in his saber. Drew looked at Brian's wepon again. He suddenly realized that what Briann had was a hot wepon. With the fay Crystal's activate, the true power of the saber would be unleashed.

Drew quickly took precautions and coated himself with a layer of mana shield. Brian let out a roar as he charged at Drew with a huge force.

As their wepons collided, a huge gusts of wind was seperated in the middle. They continuously clashed as they were at almost equal strengths. Drew was barely able to dodge against Brian's attacks but he was able to land a few decent punches in.

At this momment all of Brian's original cold and radiating noble air was gone. Brian was now just trying his best to not lose to a first year and ruin his reputation. At this momment, even with his high damage saber, he could not land a single hit yet his beautiful face was being trashed left and right. If it weren't for the large difference in wepons quality, Brian's injuries would have been way worse. He might even have already been down for good.

Drew did not have it easy either, in order to compensate for his low strength, he had to use up a lot of mana and push Brian into a corner with some earth techniques he knew. Right now, they were neck to neck.

They were both in a knot and were waiting for the other to slip up.

Finally someone did slip up, Brian had grown impatient and took a gamble in order to attack an opening. Sadly, it was a false opening and Brian received a huge shield to the face. Drew then used Earth cleaver to pull the ground in front of Brian. As Brian was walking backwards, the earth pushed him down to the ground.

Drew was about to finish Brian when suddenly his mind went blank. Brian used this chance to give Drew a taste of his own medicine. He first punched Drew right in the gut before aiming his saber at Drew's heart. Don, Maryline and the other screamed as they saw this but, right before impact, Cruise suddenly appeared in the stadium and blocked the saber.

"The spear would have killed him, he had no time to evade, It is team Beach's win." Many of the 2nd years applauded as they heard this.

Throughout the battle, they were worried that they would lose face due to this battle but in the end their year was still better than some first years. The first years could only sigh as they saw this.

Although most of the first and second years were showing animated happy and sad expressions the older students and the teachers could only show disdain.

It was not a fair fight. At the momment when the first year was about to win, the mage from the opposing side had interfered. If even the third years could see that, the teachers knew that the Principle had definately seen that.

Mo turned red as he saw this. Although he did not know the first year boy, he had seen him fight and had gained a good impression of the boy.

"Why did Principle Cruise allow this nonsense?!?" Mo exclaimed in anger. Lisser quickly calmed the old man down.

" Principle Cruise does not do anything without reason. Senior Mo, just watch." Mo quitened down as he heard this. He had been working in the school for over a decade now and could not help but agree at Lisser's statement.

"Fine. But if I see Principle Cruise continue to show this odd behavior, I will have to have a talk with him." Mo said as he grumbled. Infact, Lisser was not far off in his assumption. Principle Cruise had obviously seen what had happened but according to the rules, the non cheating team would automatically win. Principle Cruise was not yet done observing the first year talents.

He wanted to see if he had been right with his instincts.

As soon as Drew came back down, he was a little disappointed. Other then being hit in the gut and losing a lot of mana, he was still doing fine so he did not need to be taken to the infirmary. Other then being tired, there was nothing to be worried about to everyone's relief.

After this was noted, Don asked everyone to huddle up. He showed a rare angry face as he told everyone what he had seen Derk of the opposing side do.

As Principle Cruise looked to the first year team, he could not help but smile.

"I have truly gotten myself quite the dark horse this year. His perception still amazes me." He smiled as he called on the next chlalngers, Derk and Garisson. Cruise was already a master at hiding his anger under a smile so Derk did not notice the hidden disappointment and discontent that Cruise felt towards him.

On the MagnoFinch side, the team had finally gotten organized. In the end they sent Maryline and Elijah to the front. They had read that Derk and Garisson were a good duo and the team could not think of a better counter attack then the fire siblings.

Other then fighting against each other, they were also good at fighting for each other. Don who had suggest this team up knew for a fact that as a duo Elijah and Maryline were very scary.
