1 Prologue: Does it Really Have to Start this Way?

Thud!

"Urrrghh..." A dull groan escaped from the Woman's lips as he was thrown into the ground by a group of Important looking men.

"Filthy peasant, how dare you sully my clothing?!" Snarled the man wearing white clothing as a symbol of status, "Don't you know who I am? How are you going to pay for this?" He gestured at the non existent stain on his shoulder, a half smile appeared on his face, "hmmm, your looks are quite enticing. You're gonna need to come with us to pay for your sins" He said in a perverted tone, casually approaching the woman vulnerable on the ground.

"Please stop! Someone help me!" pleaded the woman as the man's hand wandered around her body slowly like a snake.

BWOOOMM! CRASHHH!

Suddenly a figure fell from the sky and landed near their location. The impact caused a lot of dust to rise from the ground causing a smoke screen, covering the figure's shape.

"What the hell?!" The group of men shouted in unison, slowly drawing their swords from their sheaths and pointing it at the mysterious fallen figure.

As the dust settled, there stood a man with a plain white mask that has a poorly drawn smiley face, two eye holes are present and inside them shone emerald like eyes. He was wearing a plain black body tight suit which clearly showed his lean figure. A dagger could be seen holstered on both sides of his body.

"Identify yourself!" shouted the man in white.

"Me?" asked the masked man while pointing at himself.

"Of course you dumbass, how dare you interrupt our business! Don't you know who I am?" Snarled the man in white.

"Hmmm, yeah. You guys are the nameless villains at the start of a cliché prologue so that ,I, the protagonist can have a cool entrance." The masked man answered casually, if one could see behind his mask he would be openly smiling.

"No I'm not smiling, more like grinning." , he was in fact grinning all along, "Hey inner monologue you don't have to repeat what I'm thinking it ruins the writing a bit'", he spoke while waving at the air for no apparent reason. "Ugh."

"What the hell are you yapping about?" The man in white shouted, confused of what the masked man was mumbling.

"I'm the character who's going to slaughter you guys in about 385 words from now, in this chapter." Foreboded the masked man.

"What the hell is he talking about?"

"Does he have a loose screw?"

"He looks stupid in that costume."

Murmured the witnesses around the scene. Judging both sides as a spectator, intently watching on what's going to happen.

"With that body tight outfit I can see his—"

"Author, you don't have to continue that. Let the readers imagine what that person said." He spoke again, wagging his finger in the air.

The man in white looked at him with pity seemingly thinking that the masked man was mentally impaired, "End that man's suffering!" he commanded his group.

"It's showtime, Author, cue fight scene." The masked man mumbled while quickly brandishing his daggers.

Like a whirlwind of death, the masked man instantly cut off the heads and arms of the nearest few. Their limp bodies fell to the ground as their heads flew into the air. The remaining members tried to group up on him relying on numbers to overpower the masked man, but luck was not on their side, those who approached were instantly cleaved to pieces. The witnesses and the man in white had their mouths agape, mumbling the words "Monster."

"Monster? What kind of lazy writing is that?" Asked the masked man as he approached the trembling man in white.

"DON'T COME CLOSER!" The man in white shouted, grabbing the lady beside him and holding her hostage pointing a knife at her throat, "I'LL SLIT HER THROAT IF YOU COME ANY CLOSER." He looked at the masked man with crazed eyes.

'Where the hell did he get that knife?' The masked man thought to himself.

"Yes that's good, STAY RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE. Your actions towards us will have its consequences!" mocked the man in white.

"Alright, alright. Sheesh, I'm not good with blood either." The masked man spoke, covered in blood, "Hey, you, the hostage. Thank you for being brave, and I don't want to risk you losing your life, so I must stay in my place. I'm sorry..."

No words came out of the woman's lips, tears started falling down her face and a faint smile could be seen as she looked at the masked man.

"...that's why," The masked man hid his hand behind his back and grabbed something, "I brought a weapon for these types of scenarios."

BANG!

Suddenly, the masked man pulled what seemingly looked like a gun behind his back and accurately shot the man in the forehead. Killing him instantly. Silence plagued the scene

THUD!

"No one expects, a person to randomly pull out a gun in a melee, am I right?" He spoke and finished as the man in white's body fell to the ground.

No one responded to his monologue, as everyone was still in shock by the sight and power of the weapon he just used. He stood in place assessing the mood for a few seconds until he let out a sigh.

"Ooooooooooh right, guns weren't still invented in this point of time." he mumbled his sudden realization, "That's why they were using swords and they were dressed weirdly, oooohhh," a second wave of realization hit him, "If only the author properly wrote the start I would've known." and he started mumbling nonsense to himself again.

As he was lost in his own thoughts, the woman slowly approached him. She didn't know what to feel at that moment, she felt conflicted. Is she scared or is she filled with admiration for the person who saved her life, "Ah yes, this is the part where I get thanked and the first girl is added to my harem isn't it?"

"U-umm, Sir, T-thank you!" She said in a polite tone, her face slightly flushed.

'I knew it.' He said in a tone low enough for the woman to not overhear him, "You're welcome, it's my duty to save people in need..." He said smiling, "...not."

"What was that?" She asked, her face looking at him with a faint smile.

The masked man waved his hands to dismiss the question, "No, it's nothing."

"Kind sir, may I ask what's your name?" She asked, her eyes twinkling in anticipation.

"Call me," The masked man stood tall and puffed his chest while pointing a thumb at himself, he stood still for a few seconds before finally speaking, "Apollo."

The woman looked at him with admiring eyes, little did she know that he thought of the name on the spot. "Way to ruin my scene, Author."

"Anyways, I need to go. We probably won't be seeing each other again." Apollo said in a gloomy tone.

"Why?" Tears started to form at the edges of the woman's eyes.

"Because I'm going to a place, where you cannot join me in." He said, covering his mask with his hand.

"Where is that? I'll follow you! I promise!" She pleaded, not wanting to let go of the man who saved her and captured her heart.

"I'm sorry," Apollo gently wiped the tears slowly falling on her face, "for I'll be appearing next chapter, and most likely you won't be there. Damned author forgot to give you a name." He said in a sullen tone.

She stayed silent and let her tears fall, for she did not know what Apollo was talking about. Apollo gave her a final hug before waving her goodbye.

"Goodbye." Apollo said, slowly walking away from the scene.

"Wait!" The girl shouted, Apollo stood still, not looking back, "My name is Lyra! Please don't forget about me!" She cried.

After hearing those words, Apollo kept moving away, ignoring the cries of Lyra in the distance, "Looks like she'll be appearing next chapter," Apollo mumbled, "Oh well," He shrugged as he whistled a melody while walking away.

"See you next chapter, Folks!"

-Apollo was here :)
