5 I woke up,

"What were trinkets once have now become a treasure

Memories weigh me down which were once light as a feather.

Pain today yesterday was a pleasure

Like the winds across the heather

Life changes like the weather"

I wake up, drenched in sweat, even if it was a freezing 3 degrees. I am connected to tubes and needles of all sizes. I try to move my arm to call for help, but every movement sent a shooting pain to my arm.

What am I doing here? How did I end up here? Endless thoughts fill my head making me dizzy. I can't recall a single piece of information. The only thing I can think of is water because my lips are dry and parched. I tried to move my mouth but no words came out. They were just a bunch of broken and inaudible noises. I need water! I screamed in my head. Finally, someone noticed my movements and called the doctor. I was quenched my thirst and everything was coming back to me: I remember absolutely nothing. The room lacked even a streak of light. The darkness made me feel helpless and hysteric.

It was like a prime feeling deep inside my subconscious mind, like a fear running down my blood forever. It's like I could never get used to it. Or maybe it's my eyes and the sense of unfamiliarity and total memory loss.

'Where am I?' I asked. My sound beamed throughout the darkroom, absorbing the sound with the light.

'You're at the healing center' a nurse answered my question. I was unable to see her, but her sweet voice had a calming effect on me.

'What do you remember?' A man's voice echoed at my ears, probably the doctor.

'Um…. I don't think I can remember anything.' I answered, realizing I don't even remember my own name.

'Hmmm… Do you know your name?' He asked again

'No, Not really.' I paused

'Well, that's ok. You should be happy because some have it even worse.' He chuckled as if there was any humor in it.

'Oh. Ok,' I replied bluntly.

'Anyway, there are some things we have to tell you first.' He said apathetically.

'Firstly, you're dead.'

'WHAT??' I almost fell out of the bed. This couldn't happen to me! I didn't even get to say goodbye to my family, whoever they are. Perhaps that's why I don't remember anything. Oh no!

'S... So, I'm in heaven?' I asked, panicking.

'Nope'

I panicked on hearing these words. The dead thing was already confusing and nerve-wrecking, now I have to go to hell?

'So I'm going to hell now? Oh please spare me! I'll do anything!' I begged. The nurse went on and turned on the lights. It took a few minutes for my eyes to adjust to the light. Then I saw their faces. They didn't seem normal at all. Is this what people at hell supposed to be like?

Before I could say anything, he let out an annoying sigh. 'You know this is the problem with your species, always jumping to conclusions before-' The nurse's glare stopped him on the track. He cleared his throat and looked at me with a serious expression.

I was a bit confused at first. Both the doctor and the nurse don't seem normal at all. It's just hard to explain in words in this dizziness. They just treat me like I'm sort of an animal for an experiment.

I scoffed and tried not to show any serious emotion.

The doctor looked at me with his golden-brown eyes. I'll admit he was quite the charming type. He had has brown hair and well-built muscles. But that expression on his face seemed to get to me.

'The purgatory?' I guessed one last time.

I can tell from his face it wasn't the right answer either. He looked like his head was about to explode.

'Ok, just because you're dead doesn't mean you go to hell or heaven' he said clenching his teeth with a forced smile, while the nurse sighed and turned back to look at the people in the next rooms like this was something that happens every day.

'You're dead and you're in Ahava.' he blurted out.

Cupid? Ahava? This doesn't even make any sense. Is this some kind of prank?

'Ahava?' I asked confused but intrigued.

'That's right. You're a cupid kid ' He said sharply.

Oh, that explains his wings. He has unusual fiery red wings bursting out of his back. It was a very unusual color for a cupid, I thought.

'But eh....why that color though' I asked not being able to stand that look anymore.

He turned around and thought for a while.

'...it's because I'm not a cupid kid' he declared.

'huh?'

'I'm not a cupid, I'm a healing angel'

'I still don't get it.'

he looked like he was about to throw a chair at me.

'Hey! I'm new here alright! And why don't I remember anything?' This time it was my turn to get mad.

He looked a bit shocked and guilty. He obviously wasn't expecting this question.

'You will remember nothing because you're starting a brand-new life with no memories of your past life because they are not needed anymore.'

'But wh- '

'Keep speaking about it and we will disintegrate you to specks of dust' he uttered sharply. I expected him to chuckle or laugh after that sentence. He didn't.

'Cupid? I still don't understand.'

'Look for yourself' He took a mirror and placed it in front of me.

He was right, I looked like a cupid. I had magenta-colored hair flowing all over me. My eyes were rosy pink with a hint of purple. My skin was fair, shiny, peach-colored masterpiece and I had wings. They were little but fluffy like a bumblebee and soft and light as a feather.

'Wow, I look- '

'Fascinating, yeah I know. Now, will you stop asking any more questions?' He asked.

'Yeah, ok. But who am I?' I was too carried away with the appearance I forgot the important information.

'The data says your name is Light. So that'll be your name from now on.' he showed the pad to me.

I repeated the name with awe. This was a dream come true. But I still had no clue what was going on.

'Fine. But one last question. Am I going to stay here forever?' I asked worriedly. I didn't really want to stay here. It looks

like I won't last long with Mr.doctor glaring at me here.

'Oh no hun, you're too young to last here long enough. You need some guidance.' At least we agree on something.

' we've already taken care of that for you He walked to the front door and opened the door. It must be me to or the people stepping inside must be glowing balls of glitter. The whole room shone brighter than the led lights in this room. I looked at them with awe.

One of them came and looked at me. I could see her face very clearly. I could just keep seeing that gorgeous face of the lady forever.

Her looks can't be described in words. She was indeed an angel. The purest of them all!

'Hello' Her soft and calm voice echoed through the wall. She was 10 times beautiful than me.

'You must be Light' She smiled passionately.
