The dial tone was the only response he got from calling his mother's phone, like usual she didn't answer nor did it seem to even be in service. Letting out a sigh he was feeling more relaxed than moments ago but the reality of being a woman was still something he couldn't quite grasp his mind around.

Raven needed reassurance that he was not going insane nor was this some punishment by his mother's side to live out the rest of his days as a woman or a succubus. With nowhere to go he only knew of one other person that would be able to reach his mother but even with these little options Raven was more reluctant to call his father.

Taking a deep breath he weighed his options for a bit finding that his annoying father was the lesser of his worries. Looking down at his phone he was still wanting to avoid him so instead of calling he tried to text his father first. Hoping he could get a quick response without having to waste his time praying his father would just play along and just send the contact for his mother over a text without any questions asked.

The chime of a return text so soon startled Raven for a moment. He became excited to have it go through so quickly and his nerves were already starting to become more settled with the thoughts that this would be all over soon. Though the second he read the message his father sent it only turned his mood again as he read it aloud, "Mom's unreachable right now, but call me I have something to say that's more... important?" He questioned what could be more important but he brushed it off since his father didn't know yet.

Still aggravated, Raven growled pushing his hand back through his long hair pulling it from his face agitated with how his father would be the kind of person to tell someone through a text to call them instead of just calling.

He was angered but he needed someone's help and if his father really didn't know how to reach his mother he could still have some information about this transformation. Pressing the call icon he put the phone up to his ear and waited for there to be an answer.

The clicking sound of the older phone being answered didn't have much of a pause in between his father's voice shouting into the phone, "Congratulations!"

Pulling the phone from his ear fast he knew he was going to regret calling him already. Bringing the phone back to his ear he wasted no time, "Dad, where's mom?"

His father chuckles a little after there is a slight pause, "That's strange I was expecting my son to call me. Little girl I believe you have the wrong phone number" he finally said in a amused tone to Raven's slightly more feminine voice throwing him off.

Raven almost snapped when he noticed he hadn't really listened to his voice since everything had happened, now that he thought of it he couldn't recall but figured there was probably some change like everything else. Before his father could hang up the phone Raven says everything he could think of as proof to his father for him to believe that he was who he was.

"Dad; Mom's a succubus, you're human, today's my birthday, My curse was supposed to be gone, and yet I turned into a girl, It's me your... Ray bird" He rambles out all of this rather quickly all in one breath even when he becomes reluctant to say his father's embarrassing nickname for him. Then he waits to hear his father's response and hears nothing and thinks he was not fast enough and his father hung up the phone.

Pulling the phone from his head about to call him back he noticed he was still on the phone, "Just look at your damn caller ID, old man!" Raven finally shouts in anger losing his patience stomping his foot at the same time not liking that his father was being so reluctant to believe him.

After a rustling sound his father returns to the phone showing he clearly checked the ID even after all that was said, "Happy birthday my little Raven bird, did you have fun celebrating?" He questioned in a more scolding tone than he usually used.

Raven could just feel the sarcasm in his voice while in a subtle manner inquiring about Raven's change. Raven grit his teeth in anger, "Dad, I need you to be serious, why did I turn into a girl?"

A hum was the only response he received as if he was trying to come up with a answer. Raven pushed it further as if he were trying to jog his father's memory, "You said once I turned eighteen I'd be free from this, what happened to this?" This statement only furthered the moment of silence as his father became reluctant to respond.

"Dad?" Raven whined no longer in the mood for this, he just wanted answers.

"Ugh well..." His father let out a exaggerated sigh as he thought of an excuse, "Well, I don't know what to tell you Ray, Maybe since you were actually born on the west coast" He went to explain but Raven cut him off.

"What does the west coast have to do with anything?" He growled dragging his hand across his face regretting calling his father all the more.

"Technically you are still seventeen till California time hits the time of your birth Raven but I really don't know how all this works you should have waited at least a week before jumping right into things son... daughter?" He gave a small chuckle though his voice showed concern feeling bad for not having any answers for his son now that everything changed.

Raven fell to his knees hearing this he felt the sudden defeat as he had planned to wait, he planned to wait for quite some time more just to make sure. He was so close from everything being lifted after not kissing anyone or having any serious feelings for anyone his whole life he didn't care if he waited a few more months just to be certain and now it was all gone.

He wanted to cry.

"I hate you both..." he stutters out to his father over the phone blaming them both for his life being so messed up like it was. Feeling the tears starting to rise dropping the phone before his face not wanting to hear his father's response he fought to hold them back.

He blamed them for having to live his life now as a girl rather a boy after so much trouble he dealt with as a guy. Longing to be a boy once more this was when he realized that the fact of being a girl had yet to be answered.

Putting the phone back to his ear he dragged his sleeve across his face wiping away the evidence of his tears and cleared his throat, "Alright so I messed up but does this mean I'm going to live as a girl forever?" He asked this time a bit more direct.

"Well technically you are eighteen wouldn't that make you a woman" His father snickered lightly as there was shuffling of paper like he was clearly looking for something on his desk.

"We're not related by blood" Raven growled in response not amused.

His father only scoffed to this statement, "No, not exactly, you just have more female energy than male right now." He clarifies like he were reading it off a note.

"Energy?" Raven was confused knowing he should have inquired a little about his mother's kind while growing up just encase this very thing happened. He couldn't get what energy had to do with being a girl when it should have just drawn from Jewels strength like her life force. At least this was what he understood from the shows he had seen involving a succubus but never really considered them accurate either.

His father sucked on his teeth making a small muttering noise as he was skimming through what he was reading before he finally spoke up, "So if you feed from a man's energy, you should turn back into a young man like before, feed from a woman and you'll be a young lady that seems to be how halflings work."

"Feed?" Raven questioned even though he had a bad feeling he knew the answer.

"Well yeah" His father cleared his throat a little uncomfortable to go into details with his son especially while his son was a daughter, "Stick with kissing for now but that's how you get energy from people. The more often you do it the higher your strength is so you're going to need to feed off someone if you want to change back" he explained.

There was a pause as Raven tried to process this information but before Raven could respond with a further question his father spoke up again as if he felt Raven getting scared, "But why rush, you could just come home and be daddy's little girl forever, sounds like a plan to me."

Though he was making it sound like he were happy to have a daughter he was just more comfortable with Raven coming home than going to find someone to feed off of while he was so inexperienced and vulnerable.

Raven became dead silent as he clenched his fist into a ball about to hang up. Like his father could feel Raven threatening expression and knew he was about to hang up from the comment he speaks up to stop him. "Wait! I know your mom is a bit unreachable right now but I still know someone who can help, I'll send you her familiar..."

Raven stops as he questions these words. Familiars were supposed to be witches pets at least this was what he had thought they were. He tried to recall his mother ever having anything close to what he could imagine but since his mother was almost never around he figured this creature never was brought to the house.

"He's a bit of a nosy pain in the... well you get it but he'll be very helpful. Just go back to your room unnoticed and he'll help you from there." His father explained and Raven could only nod as all of this was starting to overload his rational thinking.

"Oh," His father blurts out just before he hangs up as he remembers something that Raven needed to know, "If you can, try feeding off some random guy on your way there, it'd probably be best. Your energy levels are probably draining right now since this is your first change. You'll be attacked by people no matter the gender until you're full" He warns and slowly hangs up the phone giving Raven a chance to say something.

Raven sighs while hanging up his phone, "I have to k..." he mutters falling short of words with the realization of what had to be done. Not only was kissing the only option but it was dangerous and now the thought of doing that ever again became something he dreaded to do.

Thinking back to the crazy lady he wondered if that was just because of his levels. The thoughts of this woman only scared him more to think that he would need to actually approach a guy for him to feed and they could be just as crazy. Clenching his hands over his phone becoming reluctant to return to the dorms he jumped hearing the chimes go off again expecting it to be his father he noticed it was Carson instead.
