18 Visit (1)

Mia woke up with a blanket covering her body. She woke up with William still by her side.

He must have felt Mia's movement as he looked at her and greeted, "Good Morning."

Mia greeted the same "Good morning," to William while covering her mouth.

"What are you doing?" asked William.

"I might have morning breath," Mia replied shyly.

William laughed out loud. Compared to other things, it was not serious. He actually felt relieved that Mia was conscious of him.

"What time is it?" Mia asked.

She then checked her watch. She was startled like a little deer as it was 5:30 am. Although the activities will continue at 7 am, she was afraid that people might notice her spending the night outside. Especially her roommate, which she doesn't even know who she was. People in the company are very fond of gossip.

"I have to go back," Mia said hurriedly.

"What's the rush? It's still early, let's grab some breakfast before returning," said William with his dazzling smile.

"No, I can't! I'm a normal employee while you're the CEO so it might not affect you but people talk, William." point Mia bluntly.

"Let's go together then. I'll accompany you to your room." William offered.

"It's better if we are not seen together," Mia replied.

"Why is that a big deal? We will just be walking down together," William said while looking at Mia seriously.

"It might not be a big deal to you but I don't want any gossip to spread that we are together or worst spending the night together." Mia started to walk back uncompromisingly back to the hotel.

Although she felt bad about denying Williams' requests, she still felt it was for the best.

"Hey Mia, wait! You haven't given me your contact details," William shouted as Mia was walking too fast.

"Just get it from Stephanie." Mia stops her steps, turned around and said to William, "Its best we don't spend time together while at work." Mia said it seriously.

William wanted to rebut, but he holds himself back. He wanted to give Mia her own space until she becomes comfortable around him just like before.

"Fine, I'll call you and I won't look for you in the office," William said looking forlorn.

Mia continued her steps and told herself, 'Yes, I can't give in to William. This is for the best. We were close friends, but that was in the past. We grew up and we know better now. I'm not the same young girl from the past.' Although she was saying that to herself, her hands were still hugging the bunny rabbit that William gave him with care and love.

Mia was relieved to find that there were no people from the company when she was walking back. The others must have partied too much last night she thought.

Arriving at her room, she took out her key card and swiped it on the door lock. She gently opened the door, afraid that her roommate will wake up. She got in and gently closed the door when.

"How was your meeting?" A woman's voice asked.

Mia suddenly rotated her head like a possessed doll in a scary movie, to her relief, it was a person she knows.

She sighed and said, "It was fine, we made up."

'That's good. Don't get me involved in your lovers quarrel in the future.' That was Stephanie's inner thought however her reply was, "That's good."

"You should have told me that you were my roommate. I was scared to death when you suddenly spoke." Mia was heading to the bathroom while saying this.

"Where's the fun in that?" Stephanie said continuing to read her book.

"I mean, you could have given me a simple heads up, you know," Mia said while going out from the bathroom all freshened up.

"Like I said, where's the fun in that." Stephanie laughed mischievously.

"I see he got you a bunny to pair with the old one," Stephanie said while scrutinizing the doll.

"This way the other one won't be lonely anymore." Although Mia said it with a smile, Stephanie felt that there was a deeper meaning in her words.

Stephanie didn't want to open old wounds so she changed the subject.

"So what are you up to today?" Stephanie asked.

"I wanted to sleep in the room and rest but I'm afraid they won't let the new employee sleep in, right?" Mia said with a dewy cow-like eye like an abandoned puppy.

Stephanie laughingly said, "Do you want me to make up an excuse so you can sleep in?"

"Really?" Mia asked, here one eyebrow raised questioningly.

"Think of it as compensation for not giving my friend a heads up," Stephanie said while getting up and preparing herself to go out.

"Thanks," Mia said as she was preparing to cover herself with a blanket.

Before opening the door Stephanie said, "Oh, by the way, Mia. I want to visit Aunty this weekend. I was also going to our old house so I thought it was a good idea to visit Aunty and Uncle for a bit."

Mia who was covering her face with the blanket peeked at Stephanie's before saying, "Sure, no problem. I'm sure mom would love to see you, though she might be disappointed that you've changed a lot." Mia laughed in a bell-like manner.

Stephanie who was about to step out, backtracked and went straight to Mia's bed. She started tickling her, you can see one girl laughing on the verge of tears while the other feeling satisfied with herself.

"Do you regret what you said?"

"I give, I give. You win." Mia said while trying to catch her breath from all the laughing.

Feeling satisfied with herself, Stephanie said, "Have a good rest," and went out who knows where.
