Sfx *knock knock knock*

William was jolted awake due to the knocking on the door.

He looked around his surrounding, the blinds on his windows are closed, therefore, he was not sure what time it was. The lights were still on in his office, he did not realize that he fell asleep.

"It was probably the accumulated fatigue from the past few days." He was not able to sleep on time as he wanted to finish everything in the company.

He took a deep breath before he spoke, "Who is it?"

The person on the other side of the door was surprised as someone was still inside the office. It was known that their CEO would spend more hours compared to the other employees if he was finishing something, but when he looked at the time, it was already considered very late even for their hard-working CEO.

"Sir, I'm from the cleaning department who is assigned in this floor."

William was surprised when he heard his. He knew it was already late but he was not expecting that it was this late.

He looked at his watch to check the time and to his surprise, it was already 11 pm. He wanted to let the person do his job but the other side has spoken before he could.

"I'll come back later sir. I'm sorry for disturbing you."

The cleaner was sweating bullets when someone from the other side answered the door. She had heard rumors of this infamous, young and wealthy CEO, and from what she had heard, they were all bad. She was glad to dodge the bullet and escape from the said person, but before she could leave their CEO had already given her permission to enter.

"Come in. I'm almost done."

"Hiiii." The woman panicked as she had already pushed her trolley to go the other way, but what could she do when the CEO himself had told her it was alright to come inside to clean. She clenched the handlebars with her two hands as she decided to open the door and come inside.

Once she was inside, she was surprised at how young looking their CEO was. She had heard the rumors spreading around the company. She had seen the photo's spread around the office she thought it was all photoshopped, but as she gazed at the beautiful…

Ehrm, handsome face of the CEO, she could not help herself but admire the masterpiece in front of her. She wanted to say that the photographers did not do him justice. She was still staring at the young man sitting in the executive chair while browsing his phone. She just stood there unable to do her job when she saw the CEO's expression.

William furrowed his brows, not because of the employee who knocked on his door, but at the problems he now had to face. However, he decided to think of this problem as while heading home.

His phone was bombarded by messages and calls by his sister. He did not know if it was due to her sister's instigation, but Mia had also left some messages and missed calls.

Although he was feeling downhearted, he still gave a small smile on his face when he saw the messages from his sister.

"Are you alright?"

"Where are you?"

"Don't worry about what you heard at the news."

"Just come home and everything will be alright."

"We can talk about it once you get home. You do not have to solve everything by yourself. We are a family."

His sister's last message was.

"Just be careful. Once you are done thinking, remember to come home."

These were just some of the messages his sister bombarded him with. He felt touched.

Mia's messages were asking him how he was. She probably did not know what was going on, but he could guess that his sister's worries might have been felt by Mia.

William stood up from his executive chair and gathered all of his belongings.

"I guess it's time to go home."

The cleaning lady was confused because the sudden changes in the facial expression of the CEO in front of her were too sudden.

He was frowning at one moment, and then had a wry smile, and then he was smiling whole-heartedly.

She then started to remember the rumors spreading around the company. She wanted to say something, but she could not even move from her spot. She could not even start cleaning afraid to get on the bad side of their boss and lose her job.

William stared at the cleaning lady who was standing there with a confused face.

"I'll be heading out now Aunty. Take care." William said with a smile while he took large strides to get out of the room.

He was feeling dejected earlier, he looked like a man who had his wife stolen from him by another man. But now, he looked like he was going home to his beautiful wife after a hard days work.

The cleaning lady finally got out of her stupor as she bows in respect to her boss.

Although the young CEO called her Aunty, she just thought of it as him being respectful to his elders which made her smile. She had been working for the company for more than 5 years. It was also the first time that she had interacted with their CEO.

She now thought to herself that it was better not to believe the rumors in the company. Looking at the back of the respectful young man, she hoped that someday his son-in-law could even amount to ½… no ¼ of this young CEO.
