86 Pent-up emotions

William's breathing became ragged as he continued to listen to the reporter's voice.

[Mr. Roderick is one of the patients in this hospital who was in a coma. It was an unfortunate event that happened 9 years ago when he got into a motorcycle accident. As you can see from the family's happy smiles and warm embrace, the family never gave up hope and continued to support Mr. Roderick after all the years of hardships. An interview with one family member said that they were only hanging on to hope. Hoping his father will one day wake up and be able to open his eyes.]

A video of a teenage boy while crying could be seen. It was heartwarming scenes were the teenager expressed how he missed his father. How he was not able to share and experience his father's love while growing up. How other kids his age had their father's while he could only share his experiences to his sleeping father. The scene changes back to the reporter once again.

[Some people might not be familiar with this information so we will be showing a news clip that we have from 9 years ago. Viewer discretion is advised as the next clip will have parts not suitable for children.]

The clip was shown. The video was old, considering the age and date the incident happened, the technology that time was not as clear as what we currently have right now. However, the cctv footage of a person riding on a motorcycle hitting the railing and flying over the wall could be seen clearly. A loud crash with sparks could be clearly seen as the video was recorded at night. The flashes from the sparks and fire made a contrast from the dark atmosphere. The video ended there where a bloody body was carefully carried to an ambulance while people watched at the background, trying to get close and see what was going on.

The video ended and the scene changed. It was back to the hospital room with the family rejoicing in the background.

[This is all thanks to…]

William turned off the television.

He did not need to see the continuation of the news to find out about it.

The first time he saw the background and the hospital name, he already had a feeling.

To makes matter worse, he started to realize why Melissa has been ignoring his calls.

William needed Melissa.

Melissa could wait all she wants as she had the upper hand.

Results.

The results of the experiment are now seen, she could add as another chip in her hand for negotiation.

William clenched his fist, his handsome face distorted as he continued to think about what just happened.

The man was comatose for 9 years. He was able to wake up due to the research material that the Ford's have. It was more than what he expected. He thought the research was at its last legs, but he was not expecting that it was completed.

If they want results, then he had to make a decision.

How much was he willing to sacrifice to get the results?

That was his biggest question.

William quietly sat down on his chair while staring at the ceiling. His mind was in turmoil but weirdly enough, he was calm. As he sat there while leaning his head looking at nothing, the time slowly passed. He could not focus on anything else aside from the news that he watched.

SFX *ring ring ring*

His phone was ringing, the light from the phone continued to shine while the phone vibrated with each ring. He saw it was his sister calling but he did not have the energy to pick up the phone. He felt dejected at the moment. He wanted to answer the phone but it seemed his body did not want to listen.

His body is more honest than he thought.

For now, he did not want to talk.

He did not want to think.

He felt his body and mind was suddenly exhausted.

It might be from all the work he was doing for the last couple of days.

The phone stopped ringing. The lights were off.

He released a sigh. It was only a single sigh, but it was filled with all his pent-up emotions. Honestly, he could not tell what he was feeling right now as the sudden surge was increasing the tension in his body.
