60 Awkward Situation

At the usual time, before the store's opening. Mia was standing in front of the doors, she was now well rested and energetic compared to her lethargic atmosphere yesterday. She had a happy smile on her face remembering the chocolates that William gave her. She was early in arriving at the store and as she expected the Doctor was already in.

As she gazed inside the store, she found the Doctor's back standing tall while facing a woman who was inside the store. This surprised Mia as the store was not yet open which mean it was an emergency case or someone the doctor was extremely familiar with.

The lady was beautiful, she had long black hair, red luscious lips, white unblemished skin, and her aquiline nose suited her facial structure to a T. She looked a bit younger than the doctor from her appearance. She was also a head shorter than the doctor as you can see her looking up as she spoke to him. She was wearing simple dress and sandal with heels, she looked very fresh and simple and yet her beauty still stood out.

Mia could not see the doctor's facial expression as he was facing the lady inside the shop. The lady's expression turned from serious to a sorrowful one while the woman kept talking with the doctor.

This made Mia more curious about this mystery woman inside the shop. Their voices could not be heard from the outside so she also wondered if the doctor was saying something back.

The woman seemed to be persuading the doctor from her actions, she started to reach for the doctor's hand but the doctor shook it away. The woman became teary-eyed by the sudden rejection. She started to wipe the side of her eyes then looked straight at the doctor's eyes saying something.

Mia wished she could understand lip reading but to no avail, she could not understand any of the words the woman was trying to mouth. "Did she just say I love you still?" Mia was making her own conjectures as she stated the art of lip reading. Her eyebrows scrunched up will fully focusing on the woman's mouth.

After the woman was finished with her speech, the doctor still stood straight like a pole without moving. The woman flew out of the store dejectedly, her walking speed was fast that it was more like running, she ignored the people who are looking at this beautiful lady walking down the street.

Mia did not know when the proper time to enter the store. She had a couple of minutes before the store opens but now she was afraid to take a single step to go inside.

On the other hand, the doctor took a turn to see the storefront and saw Mia standing there with an awkward expression. The doctor could only give her a wry smile as he called her using his hand to sign and come in.

Mia slowly took her steps as if her feet were made of lead. She did not know whether to greet or ask the doctor what happened.

"It seems I let you see something unfitting," the doctor said with a wry smile still on his face.

"No, I just came. I did not see anything." Mia tried to deny the fact that she saw the whole thing. She was shaking her head as if trying to prove that she did not see anything.

"I see. Well, we have a long day ahead of us so let's prepare and take care of the animals." Dr. Canes tried to give a cheerful smile while saying this.

He did not discuss the subject any further and headed to the front door to open the shop sign. Before the Doctor entered the shop, you can see him gazing at the distance. Mia did not know if he was looking for the lady who just left, but she did realize that the doctor looked affected by what happened. His usual kind and gentle expression had a hint of sadness. This made Mia's curiosity to soar, she was now making up stories in her head trying to figure out who this mystery woman was.

"Maybe she is the doctor's girlfriend? What if that is his wife? Did they separate because something happened like the woman cheated and now she wants to get back together with the doctor? Maybe the doctor did not want to take her back because she ran off with another man. I guess the doctor would not avoid the woman's touch if it wasn't that bad, right?" She asked herself. Mia's imagination just kept on going and going.
