Chapter 1

Tang Ning walked into the private room in the restaurant. She ordered all of Zen Shaoxiang's favorite dishes. She went out to the balcony. She and Shaioxiang have been dating for eight years and he proposed a week ago. Tang Ning was part of City B's tang family. They own most of the hotels and the bigger and more expensive restaurants. But even though she was a part of the Tang family, she was pretty much treated as cannon fodder. After her mother died and her father remarried her new step-mom and step-sister threw her out and her father did nothing. She was made to sleep in the smallest room and was not allowed to go to family gatherings. When she was allowed out she had to pretend to be the Tang family maid. Her half-sister Ma Yao was treated and known as the Tang family's young miss. Tang Ning was given money every month. She had saved up and worked two jobs. She went to average schools and had amazing grades.

That's how she met Zen Shaoxiang. She was the representative for her school and he was his. She was very beautiful. He approached her and made her feel special. Little did she know that Ma Yao, who went to the same school as Shaoxiang, had found out that they had started dating. She was furious and had then used her body to seduce Shaoxiang. But not wanting to give up a beauty such as Tang Ning decided to keep them both. Ma Yao knew and she hated it but she also knew that one day when Shaoxiang finds out who Tang Ning really was he would leave her. So for eight years, she used her body to keep Shaoxiang satisfied so he wouldn't turn to Tang Ning. The Zen family was only slightly better than the Tang family. When they were babies Tang Ning and Shaoxiang were to unite the families. When Ma Chunrue talked to the Zen family she told them that Tang Ning had died. The Zen family was going to call off the engagement.

Ma Cunrue couldn't pass up the opportunity so she suggested that Ma Yao and Shaoxiang get married. At first, the Zen family was going to reject her but later found out that they were already seeing each other. They agreed and set the engagement party for today. Ma Chunrue suggested the restaurant that TangNing worked at. She wanted to make Tang Ning suffer. While Tang Ning was waiting for Shaoxiang in the room she fixed her makeup. The door opened and Shaoxiang walked in. Tang Ning was about to greet him when she heard her father's voice, "I'm so glad you like my daughter. I'm also so happy that she will also become part of the Zen family." Tang Ning thought that he was talking about her until. "Yes, Ma Yao will make you an amazing wife." That was Ma Chunrue. Tang Ning's smile froze and she couldn't move. She looked to Shaoxiang for an inkling or sign that he was going to say something and correct them but it never happened. The Tang family and Zen family sat and ate the food that Tang Ning had ordered for her date with Shaoxiang. Shaoxiang and ma Yao whispered sweet nothings and held hands. Tang Ning wasn't allowed to sit at the table but instead was made to stand, watch, and serve the two families. She had to stand and watch as the love of her life was taken right in front of her eyes. By the time the party was over Tang Ning was emotionally drained. Shaoxiang and Ma Yao had stayed behind. "Why?" the single word was barely but they still heard it. "Why what, maid" Ma Yao hung herself on Shaoxiang, his arm was between her breasts. Tang Ning didn't look at Ma Yao but instead looked at Shaoxiang. He looked over at her not with the usual compassion and love but with hatred and disdain. "Why? What, because you lied to me. Because you were after my money. You. Are.Nothing." He turned and kissed Ma Yao. Tang Ning with a single tear walked past them to the balcony. She took in a deep shaky breath. "I've won. He's mine and I've ruined the good doctor wanna be image you've built for yourself. By tomorrow morning the whole of City B and maybe beyond that will believe that you stole money for medical school and also killed the eldest Tang family miss." Ma Yao smirked and step by step walked closer and closer while Tang Ning stood her ground. "I will make everyone hate you." Ma Yao smirked and that smile, that sinister smirk sent Ning over the edge. She took the last step forward and slapped Ma Yao. "Even if you take everything I have now, Someday I will have everything and you will have nothing." Ma Yao was angered by her words and pushed Tang Ning. She staggered backward and over the railing. She landed on the sidewalk but didn't die. Ma Yao looked down at her and smirked again. "I will have everything and you will have nothing. I'm pregnant with his child. He's mine and you. You will be locked away. So try. Try to get everything from inside a cell. Try to take what is mine" Tang Ning's vision was going blurry. "I swear I will have everything…"

When Tang Ning woke up she had a splitting headache. She opened her eyes to a room that was not familiar with her. While she was taking in her surroundings she was suddenly pulled from consciousness. "What's your name?" Tang Ning heard the voice of a girl. When she turned around she saw a girl of about 16. She was wearing a white dress and wasn't touching the floor. "My name is Tang Ning, who are you?" The girl smiled, "I go by many names but it's not my name you should ask about." She then pulled up a memory, "Even if you take everything I have now someday I will have everything and you will have nothing." The girl looked at Tang Ning "Your resolve and promise called to me." She reached out her hand, "If you take my hand I will help you. You will be known as Tang Yuan and will look different but everyone around you will be the same. You will have both old and new memories and you'll be able to get your revenge."

Tang Ning was shocked to hear all this but she was so curious. "What's in it for you?" The girl smiled, "There are two people in the new life who did me wrong, help me get my revenge. Help me and I'll give you a second chance at life." She extended her hand further this time. Tang Ning took it, there was a bright light and she was brought back to the room from before. She got a sudden pain in her head again but this time it was only filled with memories. Her new name was Tang Yuan. She has four brothers, no parents, and a grandfather. She was also part of the Tang family. Everyone was the same but they had all transmigrated to the Qing Dynasty. Tang Ning sifted through her new memories. Growing up in this life Tang Yuan was raised by her Uncle Fan and Aunt. She grew up thinking they were her real parents. She also grew up believing that Ma Yao was her sister. The family head, Grandpa Tang, forbade them from telling Tang Yuan. But Ma Yao who didn't want to go through the whole sham told her the truth. Tang Yuan didn't believe her and asked her Uncle and Aunt about it. At first, they tried to deny it but that just made Tang Yuan believe it more. After they figured out that she knew and there was no convincing otherwise they threw her out. They stopped treating her like one of their own and stopped pretending to love her. They sent her back to live with her grandfather in the main house.

Her other family members didn't like her but her grandfather treated her the best along with her four brothers. She, before Tang Ning took over, had been in love with a boy called Yin Zheng. But like the original Tang Ning, he was stolen from her. Just as Tang Ning was going to get up she heard voices. She layed back on the bed and covered herself. "I can't believe this good-for-nothing tried to kill herself. What was she thinking? Did she believe you would love her? That you would see her? A girl who isn't wanted by her own family. Why would you, the Crown prince want her?" The door opened and two people stepped in that she didn't recognize. She was going to ask who they were but then remembered what the original Tang Yuan had told her. She just layded there listening to their conversation. "Ran'er be quiet what if she hears you?" The Crown prince chuckled. "So what? She can't do anything. She's stupid and slow. She follows you around like a puppy and it's disgusting." Meng Yiran and Yin Zheng. Meng Yiran was the daughter of a concubine with her Uncle. Yin Zheng was the name of the Crown prince. The original Tang Yuan had been in love with him but he was in love with Yiran. " Crown prince, you won't fall for her sorry attempt to get your attention, will you? Tang Ning decided to use this moment to sit up which scared the two. Tang Ning looked at them and smirked. Yiran felt a shiver down her spine. "What's wrong Yiran? Cat caught your tongue?" Tang Ning looked from Yiran to the Crown prince. "Crown prince I don't believe its a good idea to be in a room alone with two unmarried ladies." Ning went to stand up and the two ran out of the room. Tang Ning decided at that moment that Tang Ning was dead. Tang Ning will no longer be my name. As soon as she said this she felt another tug but this time it was to a beautiful flame like-birthmark. She grazed her fingers over it and was once again pulled from conciseness. When she opened her eyes again she was in a very familiar room.

She looked around and didn't know what to do. She was back in the 22nd century in the hospital she was interning at. She had found an abandoned room and was slowly gathering supplies. She was trying to open her own practice. Tang Yuan walked around and opened the drawers. All the medicine was in their spots. She tried to go into the small storage room where the operating supplies were but it was locked. She went and saw the bed that she had and the bathroom that was fully stocked. She was walking around more but heard her name being called. She pulled her conciseness back and opened her eyes to find her Grandfather and four brothers surrounding the bed. "Yuan'er what's wrong you weren't responding to me calling your name." Grandpa Tang looked worried. "I didn't know what to do. Tang Bai go and get physician Wen." Tang Bai was about to turn around when Tang Yuan spoke, "Grandfather don't worry about me I'll be alright. I'm sorry for the trouble I caused you when I was chasing around the Crown prince." Grandpa Tang looked at Tang Bai and the other three brothers in shock. "It's alright child you like him so it's normal to cause trouble." "But grandfather, I won't be trouble anymore. Can I study? I want to go to school. Please?" Grandpa Tang looked back again at the four brothers. He hesitated because he had tried to send her to school before but she didn't want to go. "Are you sure? You are my only granddaughter from my Rong'er." He was happy and afraid. Tang Yuan had been bullied her whole life because he had to fight in the war. But this last war the Emperor decided to send his ninth son instead. Although his son was only a year older than Yuan'er he was well known for being the emperor's favorite. "Yes, grandfather. I would like to study. I would like to study medicine." Tang Yuan looked Grandpa Tang in the eyes and was shocked to see genuine worry and love in his eyes. Right then and there she vowed to protect and love everyone who protected and loved her with all that she had. She looked up at her four foster brothers and smiled. Throughout Tang Yuan's life, they had spoiled her to no end. Although they were all in the military with high ranks they still made time to come home for her birthday and any other important event. "First brother, do you think I could go into town today?" Grandpa Tang never let her go out unless she was accompanied by one of her brothers. "I must go back to the base with Grandfather and second, third and fourth bro. I cannot take you but I can get you a maid." Although they were all here now they had to rush back to the camp as soon as possible. "Oh, alright. Then I shall pick out a maid." They left so that Tang Yuan could change and then they had the slave merchant come over.

When he arrived he had about fifteen girls and a few boys. First bro immediately got rid of the boys. He picked out five girls that looked the strongest. "You can choose out of these few." Tang Yuan went up and looked over each girl carefully. When she got to the third girl she just felt drawn to her. "You." She pointed at the third girl. " I want you." "Are you sure seventh miss? She was given to me by her stepmother. She said that she wasn't good for anything. I've had her the longest because no one wants her." In all actuality, he wanted to wait till she was of marriageable age and have her for himself. He had seventeen child wives and was looking to add another. "I'll give you three coppers for her." Three coppers weren't much to Tang Yuan who was part of the second richest family in Mukden. Tang Yuan pulled her own money out and handed the merchant the three copper coins. After the exchange, the merchant left. "What's your name?"After slaves were sold they were given new names. Tang Yuan wanted to know her former name but when she asked the girl just shrugged. "I don't know. I was given to that man when I was only four." the girl didn't look up from the ground and fidgeted with her hands. First bro didn't like how timid she was and was about to call the slave merchant back when Tang Yuan spoke up, "What about Xiao Bai?" Tang Yuan smiled. She had picked Xiao (little) Bai (white) because the girl was younger and smaller than her and almost as pale as her. The girl looked up at Tang Yuan and smiled. "I like it." She then kowtowed three times to acknowledge her new master. After that Tang Bai and grandpa Tang and second, third, and fourth bro all left for the military camp. The next morning Tang Yuan and Xiao Bai left to go to the market. Tang Yuan decided to walk instead of ride in a carriage. They walked until they got to a small restaurant next to the palace. She had stayed up last night exploring her space and found out that she could put her body into the space as well. She could also walk in the space and end up in a completely new area.

"I'll be right back I'm going to use the restroom." Xiao Bai stood guard while Tang Yuan "used the restroom" when in fact she went into her space. After she had learned about her space she had also studied the palace. She had a photographic memory in her past life and seemed to have held on to that trait. She looked for the Crown princes palace. She then used her space to get past the guards and into the Crown princes palace. She made her way slowly to the treasury. She then moved all his gold and jewels into her space. She didn't get as much as she believed he had so she decided to come back later. She made her way back out and into the restaurant. Xiao Bai looked worried as tang Yuan had been gone for at least an incense stick (about 5 minutes). Just before Xiao Bai went into the restroom tang Yuan came back out. "Alright. Let's go get some herbs and medicine shall we." Tang Yuan wanted to use the lab equipment in her space to find out what the medicine was made of and see if she could either replicate it or at least use her own medicine. She didn't know how much medicine she had all together so she didn't want to waste it. They made their way to the most expensive and biggest herb place they could find. Tang Yuan had just walked in when she saw a group of people surrounding the wall. She got curious and went up to see what the fuss was about. When she got up there she saw that there was a medical problem on the wall. Under the problem, it said that whoever could solve the problem would be rewarded handsomely. She just barely glanced at the problem but knew exactly what was going on as she'd seen it a bunch of times in her past life. She decided to give it a go and when it was her turn she wrote down some herbs and even how to mix and even how much to mix. When the physician saw what she was writing down at first he was unconvinced as that's what the person was taking now. But after she wrote more and got into more detail he began to look at the girl differently. Even though she used most of the same ingredients there were two that were different and the amount was much higher as well. "Just who are you?"
