Chapter 3: I think, being a beggar is better.

Coming out of the tree was a middle-aged man with good figure as well as a handsome face. Hiding behind him is a frail looking boy wearing blue robes whose age is maybe fifteen or sixteen years old.

Looking at the middle-aged man, Kelvin's body instantly tensed up, instinct keeps ringing as if telling him that the man is very dangerous. Tension filled the air. Kelvin keeping his guard up, quickly summon Marie as things might get dangerous.

"Interesting toy you have there" The middle-aged man looked at the giant humanoid creature standing in front of Kelvin. 'A puppet? I don't sense any life in it, but why a doll? Weird taste.'

"Who are you?. What do you want?" Frowning, Kelvin asks cautiously while slowly stepping back, step by step. His muscles tensed like a bow ready to fire.

"Relax, I am Li Qinghou. Do you belong to any sect?" Li Qinghou looked up and down at the cautious youth, whose height is 2 meters tall with a burly physique just perfect for his height, wearing bloodied rags that hang on his body.

"…No, why?" Answering wearily, Kelvin did not trust this man as he can imagine someone getting greedy if they saw someone regenerating fatal wounds or decapitated arms in a matter of seconds. Who don't want it? They can be a cockroach with that kind of regeneration.

"As an Elder I think of my sect foremost then everything else, recruiting you might be a blessing or a curse. I'm leaning on the former hohoho. This comes from old age." Saying so to lighten the atmosphere.

Seeing the youth still looking at him cautiously, Li Qinghou couldn't help but added while waving him off "Don't worry I'm not interested in your little technique, even with that kind of regeneration. I can think plenty of ways to kill you, for example. Throwing you inside a pill furnace till cooked."

"I see…" Kelvin looks at Li Qinghou's eye, although what he said is threatening. Kelvin can see in his eyes that there are no ill intents towards him whatsoever and most importantly his gut tells him that the man can be trusted.

"Why do you want me to be in your sect?-I may be dangerous"

"I've been recruiting mortals for a long time, do you think I'll make a mistake inviting catastrophe into the sect?" Li Qinghou scoffs at him, saying impatiently. "Have you decided?"

"Fine, I'm Kelvin. Do make sure to take care of me" Crossing his arms, Kelvin agreed after thinking for a while. He needs to start cultivating sooner or later and following Li Qinghou is safer as he seems to have a sense of professionalism.

"So who is the boy behind you?" Kelvin pointed his chin at the frail boy hiding behind him.

"Yours truly, It is I Bai Xia-" Hearing his cue, Bai Xiaochun steps out behind Li Qinghou wanting to make a grand entrance, being the one who was first recruited he wants to declare himself as a Senior Brother. He was about to continue when he saw the blood dripping from Kelvin mouth and body, especially the meat in Kelvin hand that comes from the tiger's head, he couldn't help but shudder quickly hiding behind Li Qinghou "Do-don't eat me!, this little Bai Xiaochun is skin and bones and taste ugly. And I'm your junior brother--A Family--Family don't eat one another…maybe…"

Dumbstruck, looking at the shivering boy hiding behind Li Qinghou, Kelvin can't help but laugh "Hahaha don't worry I'm not interested in eating a human" Kelvin grinned savagely and added "Yet."

Hearing this, Bai Xiaochun shriek and hides deeper behind the immortal. Wishing that he can burrow inside Li Qinghou to act as an armor.

"Here put this on, we are going right away" Ignoring the two bickerings, Li Qinghou throws a piece black robe to Kelvin.

Li Qinghou spread his flowing sleeves out, which gathered around Kelvin and Bai Xiaochun. Soon after, they dissolved into a streak of rainbow light, that shot towards the horizon.

"Oh god, it's too high…" When Bai Xiaochun realized they started flying, passing through the clouds, his face turned pale when he looked down, he was so frightened that he clung to the immortal's thigh.

Not bothered about the height and even if he fell down, he will just recover from after being turned to paste, Kelvin asked Li Qinghou the name of the sect.

"To the Spirit River Sect!"

The Spirit Sect was located in the Eastern Forest continent, in an area surrounding one of the Tong Tian River's lower branches. Eight towering mountains swirling with mist lay beside Tong Tian River. Four on the northern bank, three on the southern bank, and standing in the middle of the Tong Tian River protruded the most majestic mountain peak of them all. You can barely see the mountain top which is covered by snow.

The bottom half of the mountain had been hollowed out, allowing the golden waters of the river to rush through this opening. The cliff-faces on both sides of the crevice towered over the violent current like a bridge.

Arriving at the southern side of the Spirit River Sect. They entered the Handyman District located beneath the third mountain.

Ignoring Bai Xiaochun who's shaking and screaming in terror. Kelvin looks at the ordinary house in front of him, seeing the board on top written with graceful calligraphy 'The Handyman Department'. Entering the house, Kelvin saw a woman whose face was filled with thickly dotted pock-marks, who stood up and bow while cupping her fist as she spotted Li Qinghou entering.

"Send this kid to the Burning Stoves Kitchen, while…" Pointing at Bai Xiaochun he turned his head at Kelvin. He wants to put Kelvin as an inner disciple but he doesn't have the authority to do it so he can only put him on Handyman Department. Deliberating for a while he decided to send him to a hunting unit as he remembers Kelvin seem likes to fight. "Send this one to the Spirit Beasts Hunters"

After assigning each of their occupations he turned around, once again transforming into a rainbow streak, and flew into a distance

Sweeping her eyes to Kelvin and Bai Xiaochun she handed them one fabric bags that had been prepared for every sect worker. Explaining all the basic rules of the sect on the way. Passing by grandiose building constructed with simplistic elegance. The smell of various flowers lingering in the air.

"What a nice place…This is so much better than my village. Senior Brother Kelvin where did you come from?" Asked Bai Xiaochun after encouraging himself that Kelvin won't eat him inside the sect.

"The other side" Kelvin did not elaborate further as he follows the woman.

"West? Senior Brother Kelvin wait for me!"

Entering a small path at the end of the street, they arrive at a place strewn with cracked earth and broken flagstones. The surrounding area full of broken straw house emitting a strong stench. It can be P, P, S, S, B, or decaying food.

Bai Xiaochun face can be seen as a series of drama as they walk closer to their destination. From a happy face like spring has come hopping with each step, to sad face like withering desert dragging his feet, searching for water.

Kelvin's face didn't change much, as long he can get his daily dose of fight. Kelvin is fine with sleeping on the street. He will look like a beggar? That's better as it would gather arrogant young master venting their stress to a homeless man. It's not like his residence is here.

Leaving the tear eyed Bai Xiaochun. Kelvin and the woman walked to a different direction. After walking for a minute without talking. They arrived in front of an average looking house made by an unknown material. Finished with her job the woman left without saying a word of goodbye.

"What a nice place…This is so much better than Bai Xiaochun's" Kelvin was confused for a second as the feeling of dejavu hits him. Shrugging it off he pushed the door where future awaits him.

"WHO THE HELL ARE YOU! GET OUT OF THE WAY!"

Kelvin couldn't help but roll his eyes while thinking. 'So cliché.'
