Another Day At School

"Heeeeeey!"

"Pat! Stop yelling!"

I watch as my old and good friend Patton, runs towards me waving his arms around in the air like he's insane, with his big brother Janus following close behind, trying to keep up with him. Patton, Janus and I have been neighbours and friends since we were little children.

My older brother Thomas chuckled as he saw our friends finally catch up with us, both panting to regain their breath.

"Hey guys," Thomas chuckled, smiling.

"Hey Thomas, hey Neko!" Patton cheered happily. I smiled a bit at the old nickname.

At some point we were OBSESSED with anime and we tried to learn Japanese. Neko in Japanese is cat and Koinu means puppy. It payed off for Patton who's now learning full Japanese as an elective for high school.

"I overslept again," he groaned. Little Mr Heart oversleeping wasn't an unusual occurrence, but he has a lot of stuff going on at home and at school so I don't blame him for wanting to sleep.

"I'm grateful my big bro came to the rescue!" The happy teen wrapped an arm around his puffed out brother. Janus nodded and smiled a bit at Pat.

The four of us headed to school and the topic of clubs came up in our conversation as we entered the school gates.

I do like clubs but I don't know which one to pick. Thomas wants me to join the Music club he created and Pat wants me to join the Drama club his friend made.

"So Neko, are you going to join my club or Thomas'?" Koinu asked.

"Pat come on I have a real name and you of all people should know it," I say, chuckling a bit and rolling my eyes.

"I know, I know," he smiled. "Anyway, you didn't answer my question."

"I like both your clubs but I'm not sure yet."

"But I thought you promised to go to my club first and see what it was like," he childishly pouted. "My club prepared stuff for the new member I promised to bring."

"You shouldn't make promises you can't keep." He pouted again and hugged my arm.

"Pleeeeeeeeeeeease?" He looked up at me with those ADORABLE puppy dog eyes that he knows I can't say no to.

"No no no! You can't! Nope nope nope nope nope!" I turn away but he keeps popping up in my vision with those ADORABLE eyes.

"Ugh fine," I sigh in defeat. Patton smiled and pulled me into a proper hug. I smile a bit at his cute behaviour, no matter what this sweet little innocent boy always makes me and everyone smile. But why do I let myself get lectured by an airhead?

"Thank you Evan!" Pat cheered, happily hugging me tighter, catching the attention of Janus who smiled a bit at us both. I don't know why but Janus never seemed to smile, but it makes it even more precious when he does.

Guess I'm going to the drama club with Janus and Pat. Honestly I'm kinda excited, I've heard good things about the club and its leader, Roman.

I hope it's as good as Patton makes out.
