CHAPTER 2

After a week of being in a coma, each day was the same. Malcolm would always give me a bath. After his shift would end, he would stay with me for a while. All I could do was sleep.

Early in the morning at around 6 or so, Joseph came to check on me. Malcolm wasn't there. I have no idea while , so for that day Joseph took care of me. Of course he had no idea what Malcolm was doing. Although they we're friends, they weren't that close.

So as he was checking my eyes, he used a flashlight and his thumb and index finger to open my eyes. Once he did he was shocked. My whole eye was turned green. Then he opened it again and it started to fade away. " What the hell?!" He thought to himself. He left the room for a moment to get another doctor. " Doctor Sanders, I need help to examine a patient. His name is Kai Everson.

I was checking his eyes, and they were fully green. It looked like some kind of mutation." Joseph said.

"Mutation?" "Yes, let me show you." He exclaimed while taking her to the room. Then Mr. Beal came from around the corner. "A mutation? What is going on?" He thought to himself. "I need to know what's going on." He continued.

Back at the office where Mr. Beal worked, there was a worker talking to two other women.

"Ms. Bailey, Mr. Beal has only met Kai once. I don't know why he would care so much for someone like that." One women said. "Well, do you think they could have known each other for longer?" She replied. "Is it possible he could be gay?" " Maybe. I've never seen him with a woman before." The other woman said. Them three were gossip queens and everyone knew it.

"Hey, ladies." Said Quinn. Quinn was once Mr. Beal's brother. But then it turned out they we're Non-binary. Although some people stilled called them a boy, their pronouns were changed to they/them. "Oh, hi Quinn! I didn't know you would be here." Ms. Bailey said nervously. "I just came to see my brother, John. You know.. You're boss, AKA Mr. Beal. I'm not sure if he's gay, but that's none of your business. Now go do your job before I have you all fired." They explained. "Oh O-okay, but Mr. uhm- Mr. Beal isn't here right now." " Well where is he?" They were getting impatient. " I'm not sure."

Walking away with SASS Quinn had their final say

"I swear, ya'll always lose this man!" They shouted while leaving the room.

Back at the hospital Mr. Beal barged into the room where Kai, Joseph and doctor Sanders were. " What is going on?!" He demanded to know. He looked down at Kai. " Sir, you aren't aloud here, you must leave." Doctor Sanders said. "Who are you?" Joseph asked. " I'm his boss and I need to-" "Of course, you may see him." Joseph interrupted. They left the room silently.

"What are you doing, Joseph, he's not allowed to be in there, especially not alone." "If we don't allow him to, he might think something is wrong." Joseph said. "Whatever you say, J." She replied as she started to walk away. " Hey, I told you not to call me that!" He shouted.

Back in the room with Kai and Mr. Beal, Mr. Beal thought to himself. " What am I gonna do with you, Everson." He said with a smile. He pat Kai on the head. After some time past, someone entered the room. It was doctor Malcolm. "What are you doing?" Malcolm asked. He seemed a bit stressed. "Hello? Boss?" The two of them looked at Kai who was now awake..
