ENTRY OF NEW CHARACTER

I woke up by a phone ringtone . I recieved a call , it was from an Intern Doctor Ryan .

He told , `` I called you to remind you of today's busy schedule " .

`` I need some rest , why are you calling so early ?? , I yelled at him not knowing what time it was .

He asked me to watch time , I rubbed my eyes and looked at the watch , it was 7 : 40  am . I was quite surprised , I overslept . He told me that there is a meeting and I must reach hospital within 8 : 30 am . And also I have two surgeries for today .

Agh!!! I sighed.... Thanking him , I hung up . I kneeled on my bed wrapping myself in a quilt for a while and rushed for shower . I didn't have time to dry my hair so I made a bun in wet hair and did a light makeup . I headed to the parking area and started searching my car .

I thought for a while and I remembered yesterday's  incident. F**k I'm dead , I murmered . As I was walking to the bus stop I saw a cab . I asked him to drive me to the hospital .

I reached there at 8:40 , I was 10 minutes late . I walked to the conference hall and slowly opened the door to not to be noticed by others and then I was about to sit in the corner most chair but Doctor George called me from the stage .

He gestured me to join him so I walked to the stage . I was little nervous . I wasn't in hospital yesterday so the thought of if something went wrong was killing me inside .

I reached there and greeted them .

Chief Doctor Robert announced , `` a new Cardiothoracic Surgeon will be joining us from tomorrow . He is a well known Doctor , some of you might have heard about him . His name is Doctor Shiyaan . He is unable to atttend today , you will be seeing him tomorrow . "

Everyone started to look at each others face . We were little bit surprised beacuse we have heard that many big hospitals were trying to hire him and now he is joining us .

`` And Doctor Avni , you will be working with him . He is very talented , you'll get to learn many things " , Doctor George said .

I nodded and thanked him .

`` Everyone attention.... We sent Doctor Avni for yesterday senimar though she didnot have time to prepare herself , she rocked the stage with her presentation . Almost all the Dctors and Professors were praising her . Let's give a round of applause for Doctor Avni " , said Doctor Robert .

He also added , `` I was thrilled by your presentation . After seminar I had dinner with my old friends who attended seminar and there they appreciated for your presentation ."

 I was very very happy . I thanked him for trusting me with seminar .

Chief thanked everyone for attending meeting and told them to head back to their respective departments .

I headed to the Operation Theatre as soon as I stepped out from the conference hall .

I performed a minor surgery first , it took about 3 hours and after finishing the surgery I headed to the cafeteria .

On the way , Tia called me from behind .

( Doctor Tia , my bestfriend since 15 years , we graduated from same university , applied in same hospital for residency and fellowship too )

I turned and hugged her tightly . She yelled at me for not contacting her yesterday for a wholeday .

We live in a same building , her apartment is in 13th floor and my is in 9th . Though we live in same building and work in same hospital , sometimes we cannot reach each other because of our busy schedule .

` Let's go to the cafeteria first ' , I said .

I apologized her for not contacting and explained her how I met my ex and what happened in detail . She yelled at me for not kicking his ass and cursed him out of anger .

I patted her gesturing that we are in cafeteria .

I told her , ` I should have called and told you about  yesterday's incident but I was so tired that I fell asleep as soon as I went to the bed . And today morning I woke up late ' .

` Okay , I understood ' , Tia replied .

` Let's go out tonight for dinner ' , I said .

She agreed...

I asked her to pick my car from company and meet me at 8 pm in the The King's Hotel .

`` I have another surgery see you later " , I said and left .

After surgery I took rest in the hospital till 7 : 15 as I had to observe my patient .

Then I headed to the hotel . I asked receptionist to check for the reservation under Avni's name . She took me to the table .

Tia wasnot there yet . I called her to know why was she late . As soon as she received call she said sorry sorry something urgent came up and asked me to order first saying she will be here soon and hung up.

Aish!! This girl , I muttered .

I looked around but I did not saw waiter and at the same time someone poked me from behind. I turned around , I saw my ex boyfriend .

F**k , I muttered . He sat opposite to me and ordered coffee .

I was about to leave but he said something that made me furious. He proposed me to date him . He said it was a mistake , we should not have broke our relation and he knows that I want to be with him . He said he wants to start over .

I was not giving him a damn but he continued blabbering and all of sudden one sentence caught my attention that was about his engagement .

He was convincing me saying that he will break his engagement with his fiancée if I agree to sleep with him just for a night . I was so exasperated and annoyed that I literally yelled at him - You fu*k*n as*hole don't you dare do that . Go and fuc* youself .

That caught everyones attention . He was getting on my nerves . I took a deep breath to calm myself down . Neither I wanted to see him nor wanted to hear him so I picked my bag and walked to the door.

But suddenly he grabbed my waist and as* and kissed me forcefully . However I managed to push him back . I slapped him with all my force but he did not stopped here , he was still trying to get me .

I ran to the door but he grabbed my wrist with his left hand and he raised his other hand to slap me but before he could do that someone kicked him to the floor . He truned towards me , grabbed my wrist and gestured me to leave . He seemed familiar but I did not recognized him .

I thanked him and apologized too for causing trouble .

`` You must be here for dinner and it was ruined totally " , I said .

`` It's okay actually I was about to leave " , he replied .

He asked me if I was alone and should drop me somewhere .

` No no thankyou for your concern my friend will join me soon ' , I replied .

In a meantime Tia arrived and that guy left .

`` The guy just left..... Wasn't he Doctor Shiyaan ?? " , she asked me .

`` Ohh... I didnot recognized him " , I said .

She asked me why was I outside .

Let's go to the other hotel first then I will tell you , I urged her .

We went to the other hotel and ordered dinner .

I told her that I met my ex there and also everthing what happened there in detail .

She scold me for hiding the incident and bringing her here . She said , ` If I had been there be would have died today ' and was about to leave .

`` Are you going there ?? He must have left by now . Let him be . If this repeats I will call you immediately ", I said .

She seemed angry . I tried to calm her down .

By the time dinner arrived , we ate and Left for the home . We planned to watch movie so bought some snacks and beer on the way .

We reached my apartment , she said she join after changing so i got off the elevator and entered to my apartment .

I changed clothes and searched comedy movie .

By the time Tia came and sat besid me , we watched movie enjoying beer .

Door bell rang , I woke up .I saw around and realised that we fell asleep in sofa while watching movie . Someone knocked the door . As soon as I opened the door , he asked me if I saw or heard something unusual yesterday night around 11 pm . I stared at him for a while and he showed me his Id card .

` I am a police officer , a man from the 11th floor was shot to death . Didnot you heard anything ?? ' , he asked me .

I was shocked after hearing that . I told him we were watching movie yesterday night so we didnot heard anything .
