2 So You Want To Hear A Story?

Fine! You want a story! A story! Let me tell you the story of Samuel J. Greer, a fine, if some what boring, young man. He graduated top half of his class from his rural high school, got a B.A. in Business, married his college sweet heart, had a couple of kids, and suddenly DROPPED DEAD ON THE SIDEWALK FOR NO REASON EXCEPT AN OUTSIDE OBSERVER THOUGHT, "Gee, golly gosh! It sure would be amazing if I just started meddling in another place by existing. Herp a der!"

*Ahem*

Anyway, unfortunately for Samuel, death was not meant to be his end.

'Huh? What happened?'

Samuel stared dazedly about him.

'One moment I was walking just now and, yet, I can't feel anything.'

He stopped and looked at his hands, well he tried anyway. Everywhere he looked there was nothing.

Total...

Abject...

Darkness...

'Am I dead? Huh not what I was expecting,' mused Samuel. 'I was kinda expecting either fluffy clouds or brimstone, not... whatever this is. Not like I can do anything about it anyway.'

Ordinarily, the souls of mortals are returned to whence they came, typically to the creator deity of the realm or occasionally judged and adjudication meted out by a system prepared by such deities. In this case though, since SOMEone wants to be told a story, I pulled some strings, therefore, his soul is now in the void between spaces, the buffer zone between realms, as it were.

Why did I pull some strings just for a tale? Simple, do you seriously think you would be satisfied with a story about some random guy living his ordinary life in an ordinary world?

Don't answer! I already no the answer is no, so let me continue.

Then, from the darkness, a light shone through, dimly at first but brighter as time went on, and Samuel drifted toward it.

'Huh, guess that's my stop,' thought Samuel calmly. 'It's kinda sad, leaving my family behind, but the kids are old enough to care for themselves and Barb ain't gonna waste the insurance money after my death, guess heading toward something new ain't so bad.'
