7 The Order Of True Sky

Anna Brennan was the daughter of an aristocrat in The Order Of The True Sky who was well known for his connections with the leader. Her father was a man of actions and not of words, he was someone whom people really looked up to. The reason for her current personality can be pointed to her mother, who was one of a wicked personality.

Not much is known about her other than that she left soon after her affairs were caught by her husband, every other data about her was purged from the records. No one knew anything about her other than her husband and the leader of the sect, not even her own daughter. Anna was brought up by a mother who raised her up with wrong values and then it was followed with her father barely ever seeing her, because of his duties in the sect.

Right now, she was in a situation which she never could have imagined to occur. Right in front of her stood the next leader of the sect, glancing at her with eyes that almost felt ablaze on fire. Being the daughter of such an important figure, two assassins of the sect always accompanied her but right now, they were unconscious, fallen at least thirty feet away from where they stood at, and that too in an instant.

How can some trash like Eric Sterling pick something as important as the knife he was tossing up and down so casually. That knife was a sect treasure. If someone wanted to take that from any member of the sect, they'd have to walk over their dead bodies. The proof was the flower engraved on it. Such delicate craftsmanship could only be done at their sect.

Noticing Anna's gaze at the knife Eric's smile widened as he brought up another from his back pocket. This one was a fairly small knife. Its blade was as small as one's finger but it was beautifully engraved with a bird spreading its wings on the handle which was similarly small.

Looking at the blade a sudden coldness ran through Anna's body and a gasp left her mouth and she spoke with audible fear "H-How did you got that?". Eric just coldly smirked at that remark before continuing his act of leisurely playing with the knife again. "Well, this muscle brain for a master of yours knows," said Eric with a smile that clearly mocked the condition Anna was in. Anna wanted to revolt against the outrageous statement that Eric made but couldn't get herself to. She was too scared.

Robert, still maintaining his straight back and his folded hands, glanced at Eric before heaving out a sigh. "Truly an interesting man aren't you Eric," he said with a smirk to which Eric smirked back. "But that knife you have, can you give it to me? You see, its a sect treasure." Said Eric as he pointed a finger without unfolding his arms.

"Oh sure, but I'll keep the other one if it's okay" Eric replied as he swung the sword with the flower on it. "Sure!" Robert replied as he shifted his glance back at Anna who was left bewildered by everything that had happened here. She was almost at her limit and at this moment, she lost her calm and screamed at the top of her lungs, "WHY!? HOW CAN SUCH UNKNOWN TRASH EVER DEFEAT AN ASSASSIN OF OUR SECT!? HOW!?". Robert closed his eyes, and his expression changed into one of deep thought.

"Was it supposed to be hard? Should I act like it was hard?" Eric asked while tilting his head to the side. The remark on his sect made Robert a bit irritated as the pure mockery in Eric's tone was as clear as daylight. "You call him trash yet you cannot even stand on your own two feet. The sect values honour above all Anna and it pains me to see you in such a state.

"What's so special about this little knife? I have a butter knife which is way better than this crap" Eric said as he tossed the knife around. This made Robert lose his stance for a moment as he looked at Eric with bewilderment. "Are you kidding me?" Robert exclaimed as he looked at Eric casually tossing the knife. "It's a sect treasure!" Robert said to which Eric just shrugged. "I do feel bad for the lady there," Eric said looking towards Anna.

"D-Don't give me this crap!" Anna shouted as she slowly stood up, her knees still shivering, as she held onto a knife with both of her hands. "Finally lost it, didn't you?" Eric remarked at Anna's sorry state, "Don't patronize me your trash!" she screamed as she leapt towards Eric with the knife in her hands aimed towards him.

Eric didn't even flinch and just as she approached a few inches close to Eric, a transparent wall appeared in front of her, throwing her back. "I didn't need your help, Robert" Eric said as he gave Robert a nasty glare. 'That bastard had no plans of holding back…' Robert thought to himself. "She is an important member of my sect Eric, I couldn't allow her to get gravely injured".

Just as Robert finished, a big blast was heard behind them.

'BOOM' the big bang reverberated throughout the academy grounds, it was right behind the trio and was followed with a huge cloud of dust. As they turned around, cold sweat appeared on Robert's forehead. "SH*T!" he exclaimed before a figure appeared from inside of the dirt cloud.

The silhouette had broad shoulders and had an air of strength around it, it spoke proportions about the person that came here. It walked in a way that showcased how powerful and wise this person was and as they stepped out of the dirt cloud to reveal them-self, Robert's expression turned into one of panic.

Eric knew that this was a bad move, but he was prepared to at least get his friends to a safe position before he could find a way to escape himself. Out of the dust cloud stepped out a man, He looked like he was in his mid-fifties. He had a few wrinkles on his face, but his hairs showed no such signs of age. There were traces of white but they weren't completely turned. His face had a weather-beaten look but he had the so-called 'perfect' face.

He wore a black eye-patch on his right eye and had a black long coat on, followed by black leather trousers. He had a leather bandoleer going through his shoulder to his waist loaded with five guns beneath his coat.

As he set his foot down a gust of air went through the area, removing the dust cloud just to show a crater behind. The guy simply used his aura to exert such powerful pressure around them. He wasn't a joke, it was made sure. Eric looked at the guy to measure his movements and to understand what was going on, 'A true master…' he thought.

'Could he be a mercenary sent to kill the next sect heir? Or maybe a skilled assassin?' Eric thought to himself as he looked towards Robert, who by now was frozen in fear and drenched in sweat. The man with the eye patch stopped where he was standing before looking over at Eric and then slowly turning his gaze towards Robert.

Eric didn't want to give him the chance to do what the man wanted to, so in that instant, he threw the knife he held onto his hand towards the man with all his might. This sent the knife flying towards the man in blinding speed, Robert and Ella couldn't even see it, and Eric was pretty sure that he would succeed in at least making the man to try and dodge the projectile so that he could open his portal but what the man did next made Eric drop his jaws.

As the knife approached the man, Eric could see the man flip a coin from his hands. It was fast, so fast that if someone with normal senses looked at the scene, they wouldn't even notice it, this also shattered the pride Eric had in his speed and senses, as the man was clearly leagues above him. To both of them, it was as if this all was happening in real time, but in reality, this all was happening in the hundredth of a second and as the coin reached the level of the knife, and nullified his attack, Eric couldn't help but curse at his luck. He really drew the short straw here.

"Give me that knife kid, make a move and you die," the man with the eye patch said pointing towards Eric. Understanding the seriousness of the situation, Eric threw the knife on which the bird was engraved at the man, who caught it between his fingers before keeping it inside of his belt.

"Young master, the Grand Master wishes to talk with you. He told me to bring the boy along to The Order Of True Skye's headquarters. Eric Sterling was it?" as he finished Robert seemed like he would collapse any moment while Eric couldn't help but look at Robert and think out loud "You know him!?"
