1 A New Start

'BEEP BEEP BEEP', "Stop…" said the boy sleeping making the alarm stop it's crazy beeping. "What time is it?" he asked still sleeping on his bed with his eyes closed. "7:49 A.M" replied the clock. It was a cube-like clock, with a little triangle on the surface, which lit up with a blue light every time the clock spoke. "7:49.." the boy lazily repeated as he adjusted himself into a more comfortable position. "WHAT!?" he suddenly shouted as he sprung up from the bed.

His messy silver hairs flew with him, they were long enough to reach his shoulders and gleamed with a metallic lustre. "It's 7:49 A.M" replied the clock. While the boy ran around the house without any pants, searching for his belongings in the mess he called his home. It was a two-room apartment, with books, clothes and empty food packages laying around everywhere.

"Where is my id!?" the kid questioned, rummaging around the room throwing everything around. "Eric Sterling, Student final year, Divine Gate Academy, Aeros. Student Id 6574218. Pinging the PDA." replied the clock as the vibration was heard from one of the piles of clothes. Eric jumped towards the clothes throwing everything around and picked up a device.

This device looked similar to a smartphone except it was only made of a single transparent glass-like material with two metal strips on the top and bottom. He slid it into his pocket and looked back at the clock, "Thank you buddy!" he thanked the strange clock to which it only beeped. Closing the door behind him Eric started walking to the ground floor of the building and as he passed through one of the corridors where the elevator was, he felt the never changing glances of the girls who were supposed to be his juniors. As he walked past them one of the girls spat on him to which he did nothing and simply walked towards the stairs. As soon as the door of the elevator closed, Eric wiped the spit off his face and started running down the stairs at a very fast pace.

He was a fresh-faced, fairly good looking young man, and right now had a gentle expression on his face as he furiously ran through the levels of stairs. "18… 19… 20!" he exclaimed as he took a leap towards the door that leads outside. Eric's silver hair flew with a metallic beauty as he ran through the ground floor of the building towards the exit. In his frenzy, he didn't notice the other person heading for the same destination as him. A girl with beautiful midnight dark black hairs, that plunged over her shoulders, stood there in front of the exit checking her PDA.

She wore the dress of the Divine Gate Academy, a charcoal black skirt followed by a similar coloured full sleeve top. The buttons were of a golden colour which gave contrast to the dress. Overall, it suited her very well, the way the top hugged her body made it look as if a goddess were standing in front of him and the way her skirt fluttered in the air gave her a divine look that he could swear, would bring down heaven itself.

Eric was admiring her beauty, as always, but he seemed to have forgotten one very important thing. He was running towards her at full speed. 'Crap!' even before he could think about it he approached too close to her and she slowly turned around to notice Eric almost going to slam into her at full speed. Before she could react and move away, Eric jumped, going over her. The girl could only see what happened without getting the time to react, she stood there confounded.

Eric noticed her expression and as he landed, appreciating the beauty of the girl he just had a fateful encounter with, he continued running. While the girl was left flustered as she just stood where she was with a confused expression. Eric continued running, he was fairly fast, faster than any human could ever run. He was running alongside a train that ran along the side of the highway, taking students straight to the Divine Gate Academy, which was on a separate island.

Meanwhile back at the apartment building, the elevator door opens to reveal a group of three girls laughing as they walk out. Coming out of the elevator they notice the girl whose beauty Eric was still appreciating. "Senior Selena!" shouted a girl with awe. "Oh my god! Its senior Selena Valentine!" shouted another looking at Selena who was still confused as to what the hell just happened. "The mistress of the moon! Senior Selena!" shouted the third as they ran towards her and together gave her a respectful bow.

This broke Selena out of her bewildered state as she looked back at the three girls before flicking her hairs behind her ear. "Hello girls," she said with a gentle smile. "Senior! Please allow us to walk to the station with you!" asked the three girls in unison bowing down their heads. To this request, Selena just giggled and asked them to raise their heads. "You are my juniors, of course, you can accompany me" she replied to which the three girls shouted again before following Selena.

Eric's hairs flew in the air as he ran alongside the train which seemed to be approaching a single lane bridge now. "So that's how it's going to be huh?" he said out loud as he started accelerating and overtook the train.

Robert Leonard was another student of the Divine Gate Academy and was currently checking his PDA on the train. Robert was a craggy tall male, with a body that seemed to be chiselled out of a rock. He stood at least seven feet tall and had a weather-beaten look and a scar ran across his face from below his right eye over to the other side of his face where his nose was.

'DING DONG' a sound rang on the train speakers "Estimated time for arrival is five minutes, students please check their belongings before-" That was it! That was what Robert has been waiting for. This was the call that came right before the bridge came, and Robert loved watching the scenery that it brought with itself. The clear blue ocean and the beautiful Academy that stood majestically on the island above. He changed his seat and went to one with a window. "Ah!" he exclaimed as he looked outside the window taking in the beautiful scenery.

"I never get tired of this!" he said as he gazed at the beautiful scenery, gulping down his can of orange juice. "The beautiful clear sky, the lovely dark blue ocean, glowing in the sunlight… The beautiful birds soaring through the sky… Eric running on the track, the majestic academy" he muttered to himself as he took another gulp of the orange juice.

It was then that he noticed something was wrong… This moment he spat everything down and stood up with shock, as people looked at him wondering what happened, he shouted: "Why is Eric running alongside the train!". As soon as he said that, everyone's expression changed to which he frowned a bit and then sat down. Looking out again he tried to ignore it, but how could he? How can anyone ignore a man running alongside a high-speed train run by the Divine Gate Academy! It was at this moment that he started banging on the window.

Eric noticed some sort of sound next to him, and as he turned around he noticed a bulky guy hitting the window of the train furiously. Wait… the window looked quite different, it seemed to have a bit of orange tint and the guy seemed furious. "I am done for today," he said as he started running faster overtaking the train while Robert almost fainted with shock. Eric jumped onto the top of the bridge with a single leap, which was a marvellous display of his agility. Running and jumping his way through the top of the bridge all the while keeping his speed and running with the train. Ahead of the bridge was a cave, into which the train was going to lead next. Eric jumped down and turned around to face a train heading towards him at full speed.

"Heh, I win today as well!" he said with a smirk while the train sped towards him, and as soon as it was inches away from him a black coloured hole opened beneath his feet and he started falling into it while the train sped towards him. At this point, he was almost submerged into the hole, only his face was out of the hole which soon went into the hole before the train ran over it.

A single strand of a silver hair flew with the winds after the train passed, carried by the sea breeze higher into the air while the hole that was made was nowhere to be seen. The silver hair that flew into the distance was caught by a crow on its beak. The crow's eyes glow with a bright red hue and as it flew it left behind a few feathers which slowly turned into a silhouette before disappearing.

Robert just stood up from his shock of seeing his classmate running alongside the high-speed train that the Academy ran using divine energy. "What the hell is that guy?" he said as he sat down only to see Eric jumping down from a black coloured hole that formed right in front of him which vanished the moment he jumped out. "…" not a word left his mouth, he just sat there watching Eric. To this Eric only gave him an awkward smile before walking away and sitting in a corner.

"Damn it! I am a goner… I wonder if I offended him in any way" thought Eric has he gave Robert another awkward look through the corner of his eye. This was when he noticed the incarnation of the devil himself, a man almost seven feet tall with the body as hard as steel and red glowing eyes looking at him as if he'd devour him any moment… "WHY!?" cried Eric as he thought of the pains he was going to go through today.
