HEAD ON

In Country Y, there is a particular city called the 'City of Fate'. Through out time, it has been rumored among ordinary humans that one can know his fate in this city. But among the Monster Slaying Regiment and the top people around the world, they all know that this is the only city one can find a peculiar creature called the 'Djinn'

"Captain, where again did that strange looking man said is the location of the monster's base?" in an alley found in the city, a group of people could faintly be seen running through it. These people were the Monster Slaying Squad who is on a mission given to them by the Headquarters of the Monster Slaying Squad to infiltrate a monster base in this City of Fate.

"How many times do I have to tell you that he isn't a strange looking man and his name is Venerable Futian" Pearce said with a annoyed look on his face as he leads the Monster Slaying Squad through the alley.

"Am so sorry Captain, I keep on forgetting" Robert who is the Vice Captain of the squad said with a silly smile on his face. When George saw this, he also got annoyed as he also began to speak….

"Do you know you are really–"

"Everyone halt!" But before George could finish what he was saying, Pearce suddenly spoke up as he stopped his advancement. When everyone saw this, they followed him and paused in their tracks.

"What's the matter Captain?" Hutton asked with a vigilant look in his face.

"Look ahead" Pearce said as he pointed forward. When everyone followed his hands and looked ahead, all of them had a confused expression on their faces.

"It's a dead end?" Bridget said with a puzzled look on her face.

"Damnit, the headquarters has given us the wrong location of the base" George said with an angry look on his face. When heard what George said, he became doubtful as he thought…

'Did the headquarters really gave us the wrong location?'

«No they didn't» a solemn voice suddenly rang in Pearce's mind, but Pearce wasn't surprised or shocked because he knew who owned that voice. The owner of that voice is actually the founder of the Monster Slaying Regiment, the Monster slayer named 'Di Kun'.

Di Kun has been with Pearce since the first night he joined the Monster Slaying Regiment as his replica and has been guiding him to where he is now. No one knows his existence in Pearce up till date.

«Then why are we seeing a dead end?» Pearce asked in his mind with a doubtful expression still on his face.

«What you guys are looking at is clearly an illusion» Di Kun answered with a calm expression on his face.

«An illusion?» Pearce asked a bit surprised.

«Yes. Just look at that dustball going towards the dead end and you will see that am right» Di Kun said as he directed Pearce's gaze towards a dustball approaching the dead end. When the dustball eventually touched the wall that was facing Pearce and his squad, it suddenly vanished.

'He's right'

"Guys I don't think the headquarters gave us the wrong location" Pearce suddenly said to his squad which has been bickering among themselves for a while.

"Huh? Why did you say that Captain? Don't you see the wall facing us right now?" Robert said with a doubtful look on his face. But what Pearce said next surprised both him and the rest of the squad.

"What you guys are seeing right now facing us is an illusion"

"An illusion?" Barnes asked with a more intensified doubt on his face.

"Are you sure Captain?" Robert asked with a serious expression surprisenly on his face.

"Yes am sure, just follow me and advance towards the wall and see for yourself" Pearce said as he prepares himself to resume his advancement. But before he could resume, an oppressive aura landed in the alley as a deep and solemn voice spoke up.

"You are not going anywhere".

Suddenly, a large group of monsters came out of the wall facing Pearce and his squad. This group were of different kinds like werewolves, Goblins and Lamias which were half human and half snakes. But the monster that seems to be the leader is a ghoul which surprisenly wore a nice and well made suit.

«Be careful, all these monsters seems to be in the 8th and 9th stage of the Qi Fusion Rank» Di Kun warned with a solemn expression on his face.

«Yeah, I can feel it» Pearce replied with a solemn expression also on his face as he quickly spoke out loud.

"Guys, prepare for battle!"

"Kill them" the ghoul at the lead suddenly said indifferently. As soon as the monster's heard what the ghoul at the lead said, they immediately pounced on Pearce and his squad.

But before they could reach them, they have already formed there battle formation as Pearce suddenly spoke up. "Hutton and Veronica, you are up"

"Yes Captain"

Suddenly, both Hutton golden and Veronica's white qi burst out as the former brought out a white and golden bow while the later brought out a scepter which it's tip was a emerald looking crystal. After Hutton brought out his bow, he quickly stretched it while pointing it towards the sky as he muttered to himself…

"Arrow Barrage"

As soon as Hutton said that, a golden colored arrow suddenly appeared on the bow as he fired it towards the sky. But in the next moment, an uncountable number of arrow came crashing down towards the monsters as some of them were directly penetrated by the arrow while others were injured by it.

Not long after Hutton's attack landed, Veronica also launched hers as ice immediately covered the alley and began to affect the monsters as some were turned into ice sculptures. But these two powers didn't affect the ghoul in the slightest as a dark colored qi covered his body.

"What a frightening attack" George exclaimed with a shocked expression on his face. But nobody was in the mode to chat as Pearce suddenly spoke up "prepare for close combat"

Although Hutton's and Veronica's attacked stoped a lot of monsters from advancing, a few exceptionally strong monsters forcefully broke out of the attack and immediately pounced on the Monster Slaying Squad. The formation Pearce and his squad formed was the Shelled Tiger Battle Formation which they created two years ago. This formation was made as Pearce and Robert were at the forefront, Bridget and George were covering the flanks while Hutton and Veronica were in the middle.

By the time the various strong monster could reach them, everyone in the squad has already erupted there qi in them as they brought out there various weapons while before the monsters started to attack, Robert suddenly stepped forward with his hands raising up a huge copper colored hammer as he shouted.

"Sky Smasher"

Suddenly, various phantoms of hammer appeared beside the hammer Robert carried as he swung it down forcefully. As soon as this attack landed on the monsters, many of them immediately exploded while the strongest among them was sent flying. Not only that, but the attack made the ground to crack uncontrollably and made the building at the sides to shake violently.

When the ghoul saw all this, his emotionless expression suddenly twitched as he thought gravely..

'Looks like the Djinns has underestimated them'

But he quickly had a resolute expression on his face as he suddenly dashed towards a greened hair boy with three foot long black colored sword in his hands.

When Pearce saw that the ghoul was coming towards him, he suddenly smirked as black currents began to circulate around him as he thought..

'Come and meet your maker'
