34 Sieg's choice

The bodies of the six contestants were covered in white light, their visions were obscured for a moment and when they got it back, they were already standing inside the arena falling in line.
Most of them are pale-faced and was breathing heavy, some even had blood trickling down their mouths and nearly passed out from exhaustion. It was very clear that the battle was very arduous for all of them. Well, all except for one. And that was the anomaly, Sieg.
He was a bit startled when he was teleported out, but when he realized what was going on, he just let the thing happen and when he appeared in the arena, he slowly placed his blade back in it's sheath, and his expression regained it's 'innocence'.
There was an absolute silence when they appeared but that only lasted for a minute before the crowd exploded in wild cheering. The whole arena is shaking and the noise they made echoed throughout the entire city. The contestants were struck dumb when they saw this happened.
Suddenly the announcer appeared before them, he was also clapping with the crowd. It wasn't long until he handed a yellow pill towards the contestants and said:
"That is the Bright Sun Pill, that pill could help you recover your lost energies in no time. Consume it."
All of them trembled upon hearing this, they were awed by the extravagance of this tournament that they even got a chance to try such a life saving pill like this. Bright Sun Pill could only be concocted by an Expert Alchemist and it could restore all of the lost energies of a cultivator below Earth Foundation Realm 'instantly'. Ye Han, Lin Fang, Gu Tian and Gao Yu immediately consumed the pill and their countenances regain their vigor instantly, Xu Qing and Sieg did something different though.
They drew a pill bottle from their respective spatial rings and stored the Bright Sun Pill away, Xu Qing consumed a different pill, while Sieg didn't do anything. Of all the people in here, he's only one that still had plenty of strength left.
"Since most of you are recovered already. We will proceed with announcing the final rankings. Starting with the 6th place, Ye Han. Please step forward and grab the disciple robes of the sect you chose."
Ye Han felt a bit bitter, however he could only swallow his complaints since his defeat is justified. He stepped forward and grabbed the brown robe that looked like a beast skin. This is the uniform lf the Heavenly Beast Sect.
The awarding session moved on, Lin Fang as the 5th place chose the Millenium Star Sect, Gu Tain as the 4th place chose the Godly Altar Sect, same goes for Gao Yu, now only Sieg and Xu Qing is left to pick their sect and rewards.
Xu Qing step forward with a dispirited expression on her face. She just couldn't believe that she lost, at last few moments of the round she used everything that she could use, she even burned some of her blood to make her attacks stronger, but she never made a comeback after losing the 1st place. What's even more is that the person who pushed everyone away, joined the competition after an hour it started. And that person is the white-haired boy beside her right now.
'How can he be this strong? He killed almost 900 fierce beasts in under 2 hours? He's at peak 9th step of awakening, that I could understand. But! Even if I'm just in mid-9th step, the disparity shouldn't be that big right? I even had to use exploding talismans to help but the difference only grew larger. How is this possible? He started one hour after us to top this all off! It's like he gave us a headstart since he wanted some challenge! Just who is he?'
Xu Qing felt so conflicted, his Uncle's words aren't right after all. She would face MORE than just a challenge, she was defeated by a mysterious guy, and the disparity between them is insurmountable. At least for now. She knew that there's no use on dwelling in this fact anymore and if she really wanted to get back at him, she needed to exert more effort into her cultivation to shorten the disparity between them.
She walked forward and grabbed the sky blue robes which is the uniform of Freezing Sky Sect, along with the robes are 4 Foundation Condensing Pills and some gold. Now it is official that she's an Inner Disciple of Freezing Sky Sect.
"And now, for this person who is placed 1st for this final battle! Mr. Sieg, please step forward and pick your sect and claim your rightful rewards."
Sieg sighed, his first few steps were now successful. Honestly, he felt a bit emotional, he knew that his journey is just starting and there's a lot more to come. Him joining a sect is just the beginning of finishing his master's quest for him and finding the path towards that mysterious 'calling'. He took light steps and reach the place where he's supposed to pick his disciple robes.
His choice? It's the Freezing Sky Sect.
Sieg felt that this choice is just fate for him. He could still remember that when he finished the 1000 Beast Killing Array, he was standing in a vast frozen lands. After that his master gave him his blade which accompanied him throughout his journey here, it was an artifact weapon that has an innate ice element in it. And how could he forget that it was that woman named 'Chu Xiaoxiao' that threw him the beast skin, eventually making him a part of the 'Order of Scribes'. She is, a disciple of Freezing Sky Sect as well. All of these pointed into one place, seemingly guiding Sieg and pointing where he should go.
And with this in mind. He picked the Freezing Sky Sect disciple robes, along with the 5 Foundation Condensing Pills, gold and a small token which is incredibly mysterious for Sieg.
"And with that ladies and gentlemen! The final battle came to a conclusion, all of the people who participated in this 2nd Yearly Sect Tournament already chosen which sect they would go. Thank you all for your patronage and may everyone have a pleasant day ahead!" The announcer spoke these words and the crowd exploded into wild cheering.
Anyone could say that so far, this year's sect recruitment is by far, the most exciting and entertaining, specially for the 2nd part. People are now standing up and gradually dispersing. As for the six contestant of the final ranking, they were all still standing in the middle of the arena. It wasn't before long before globes of bright light descended in front of them.
"It seems like we need to congratulate fellow Daoist Meng and fellow Daoist Mu for accepting a few exceptional bloods this time around." This was Xu Zhen who spoke just now.
"Right, to be honest I'm a bit jealous as well hahaha." This is Nangnong Shen from Millenium Star Sect.
"You humor us fellow Daoists, it's just luck nothing else. In fact fellow Daoist Zhen isn't totally at the end of the bargain here. This little guy right here is a fierce body refiner, which is totally up to fellow Daoist Zhen tastes right?" Meng Tian said with a smile while looking at Ye Han. Being stared by a Sect Director aroused a feeling of fear and awe to rush over Ye Han, making him lower his head.
"What fellow Daoist Meng said is correct, same goes for you Fellow Daoist Nanong, this kid might be the one that your looking for to revive 'that' technique of your sect right?" As Mu Qingyin said this, Nanong Shen's eyes brightened up a bit. It would seem that he forgot about one specific thing which caused him headaches for decades now.
"Hahaha! I must congratulate fellow daoists for a successful addition of blood towards your respective sects." The City Lord appeared and congratulated the four sect directors.
"Haha City Lord! We offer our deepest thanks for making this possible, if it weren't for those ideas of yours these event might not be successful."
"Everything this old mad did is for the sake of my poor little city, nothing more. Anyways, it seems that I've back fellow daoist for quite some time. Thank you for spending a bit of time with this old man. Qing'er, make sure to do your best inside the sect okay?"
"Yes Uncle! I won't let you or my parents disappointed!"
"Good girl." The City Lord patted her hair gently and gazed at her with loving eyes.
"We bid farewell to you City Lord." The Four Sect Directors clasped their hands towards the city lord and flew away with the new Inner Sect Disciples.
The City Lord gazed from afar with a faint smile on his head. In his mind, a faint image of a frail and pitiful young man slowly merged together with the image of a majestic looking prince who's holding a blade. He sighed lightly and said: "Would I still be alive by the time a new era is ushered?"
The City Lord only laughed and walked slowly back to his mansion.

"Hoho. It seems that this little freak made quite a show huh?"
A palace above the clouds.
If anyone was aware of this place, there's absolutely no doubt that they would spend anything and everything just to reach this place. This place might even cause rivers of blood and mountains of corpses.
The palace span about hundred of kilometers, every single tile, stone or even dust in this palace could be considered as a treasure in the lower planes. Every structure seemed to pierce the heavens because of how high they stood. The place is littered with heavenly gems, divine metals, and endless amount of 'Holy Trinity'.
Inside this palace, a man who's wearing a black majestic robes stood. He might a bit out of place compared to the brightness of this palace yet if this man wanted to, he could destroy this place in just a snap of a finger.
This man, is of course Sieg's Master. Wilson Avangard.
The distance between him and Sieg right now could be called, million miles apart. But despite of that distance, he could still monitor everything that's happening around Sieg. It's not a hassle for him to do this anyway since he's just 'enjoying the scenery' whenever he went, and he wanted to check his disciple's status.
To be totally honest, Wilson could train Sieg to be a 'Real Expert' if he wanted to. Sieg doesn't have to join any sect, fight for any resources, train on any 'trash' techniques, and struggle for his life over and over again if Wilson wanted to. But Wilson is not a simple man, he above anyone else knew, how vast the world is. There's a lot of things that still remains a mystery even for him, if one wanted to reach the peak, one must be exposed to countless tribulations and experience just how vast the world is.
"Hey big lizard!" Wilson's voice echoed to each and every corner of the palace. The whole place shook for a bit and then a figure of a massive mountain was slowly rising. If one looked closely, this is no mountain, it is a humongous beast that is living inside the palace for heaven knows how long.
It's body is even bigger that this world's tallest mountain, it has a long neck, small head, and short limbs. The thing also have a wingspan that could easily deprive the sunlight from hitting a country.
It roared in grievance as it heard the way Wilson called. It lived for god knows how long already and there's only a few people that dared to disrespect it, and this human is one of them. However, even it was given enough courage, that won't be enough for it to attack this human.
"Stop it with those sounds, you're no longer cute you old fart! Anyway, see that little turd right there? That's my disciple! He's impressive right?" Wilson laughed as he lightly smacked the lizard's body. This made the beast almost lost it entire balance though.
It roared in pain and uttered a few more roars of displeasure, it's roaring caused the whole palace shake violently.
"What? You don't agree?" Wilson eyes the beast, but for the beast his question was a matter of life and death, and if it answered the wrong way, it would die. It immediately emitted roars of agreement which eased Wilson's mood right away. He panned his attention to the screen in front of him again and no longer paid any attention to the big lizard behind him.
"Little Freak, your long journey just started. Just know that whatever happens, master is watching over you okay? Take slow and steady steps towards that calling of yours. Reach what this old man failed to reach in his lifetime." His faint voice was being carried by the wind as he spoke the last few words.
"And that is Inheriting the Throne."
