59 Seed of hope

---

"This should be the place." Sieg uttered after checking his mental map.

It's been a week since he received this mission from the Rewarding Station, the journey was quite long but this already considered near compared to the locations of other missions.

The place in front of him is a vast empty field. The ground is filled with dark and gloomy looking soil, patches of grass that also followed the dark theme of this place accompanied by a roar of some Wandering Souls echoing here and there. One would normally find this place extremely creepy and rather stay away as soon as they saw this but considering that Sieg is inside the Gray Crags, this is considered 'normal'.

Sieg gathered his attention and stare at an empty space before him, it didn't took long before small circle of wriggling void portal appeared in front of him. He opened his palms and the a bag of seeds appeared in his hands automatically.

This is his personal space or 'Pocket Space' according to the attendant. This is one of his advantages since he cultivated his spirit and this space is only exclusive for him, no one could try and open this space without his permission since this space was personally made by him and him alone. Sieg's space covered about few cubic meters which is about the size of a regular storage bag, this is considered as a very impressive feat since one, this was his first time connecting to his Niwan Core and was already successful. Two is that he managed to open such a vast space even though this is first time. And three his imagination was vivid so the space that he made was stable, meaning that he doesn't have to worry about it swallowing his things as long as he's careful.

His space already have a couple of things such as the talismans that he obtained, the claws that he made, and the earlier bag of seed. His Soul Vessel is hanging on his neck as a necklace because the attendant said that the vessel can't be placed inside on any 'Pocket Space', he also tried doing so earlier but it didn't worked so he naturally believed that attendant's words.

Sieg clutched the bag of seeds but still didn't dispel the 'Pocket Space', he made another mental command and the chained claws came screeching out. The claws automatically wrapped themselves around his waist and his arms like a venomous snake waiting for the perfect timing to last their poisonous fangs on unsuspecting targets.

Sieg's face is a bit solemn, according to the attendant he needed to be extremely careful not when planting the seeds, but what comes after he planted the seed. This is also the reason why he immediately called the chains out to prepare for the worst.

His gaze roamed the vast field before him, he was thinking about a couple of things as he did so. Not long after that, he took few steps forward, crouched down and planted the batch of seeds. He dug for about a meter and a half pit and placed all of the seeds in there. If any farmers saw this then they would absolutely strangle Sieg because of his stupidity, his method is considered wasting the seeds because they would fight for nutrients for the soil, since he threw so many of them then it would be extremely impressive if one would even sprout.

But it had to be known that Gray Crags a different place and the Seed of Hope is an even more different thing.

"Twenty seeds in total but all of them needs to be sunken into a single pit because all of this would only sprout root which would be the main channel of growth."

That's right. In order for the Seed of Hope to germinate, one needed at least 20 seeds to be successful, each of this seeds would sprout one thin and very weak root, these roots would tangle themselves and fuse into a single main root which would be the main channel for the Seed of Hope of sprout and become a 'Light Sprout'.

After covering the seeds with the soil, he sat in front of it and closed his eyes. Suddenly his whole body emitted faint brilliance, his aura became like a holy being gracing this cursed land with his presence. Faint mist of energy came out of his body and went directly to the soil which contained the seeds.

The soil shown a bit of change as this happened, some parts of the soil became slight brown in color which was totally different from it's precious dark and grayish appearance. Sieg continued nourishing the soil with his spiritual energy until the entire patch of soil he used were already brown and looked no different from a normal soil outside.

Once this happened, Sieg opened his eyes and fiercely glared at a distance. His felt slight tremors ahead which prompted him to stand up and wear a serious countenance. The challenge begins now.

The Wandering Souls felt a deep tingle in their spines, they all looked towards the place where Sieg was, roared and furiously charged towards his location.

For Wandering Souls, the Seed of Hope is their nemesis. Even though the Wandering Souls weren't sentient, the hate that they felt when the Seeds of Hope started to germinate came from the very depths of their souls. None could explain why there is such a thing but the instincts of Wandering Souls shouts that they absolutely need to trample the Seed of Hope to nihility and tear one who planted it into million pieces.

Sieg felt the tremors became increasingly violent, he took a deep breath and gripped the claws tightly, he only needed to wait until the plant sprout and the mission would be done. The challenge starts now.

*Roar*

Sieg's vision landed on the east. There he saw five wandering souls roaring and charging furiously towards him, coldness emerged from the depths of his eyes, he activated the Walk of Innocence and started his ambush.

Sieg suddenly appeared in front of the souls which greatly alarmed them causing their charge to come in an abrupt halt, he didn't let go of this chance and sent his claws screeching forward. One claw hit a tiger looking soul on it's hind leg causing that leg to be crippled, the other poker the eyes of a massive frog causing it shriek and mistakenly lash it's tongue to other soul.

Sieg's attack went in the weirdest angles and flew extremely fast targeting the weaknesses of this beast in one go. This helped him deal massive damage to the enemies without wasting effort on unnecessary things and waste his spiritual energies for nothing. He understood that this is only the beginning so he needed to be careful.

*Roar*

The battle at the east side wasn't even done but there's some beast charging at the seed from the north side already. This sent Sieg into a brief panic, but it certainly didn't last very long, he decided to lure over the remaining beasts towards the north so that he would have an easy time dealing with them.

Time and time again, roars of beast would echo and would charge towards the seed. Sieg's was panting in extreme weakness, it's been hours since he started fighting these souls and it is not looking good. His body was currently a bit blurry due to exhaustion, he also had couple of wound here and there, his spiritual energies are also almost spent entirely and the wave of beast that wanted to attack the seed doesn't look like it's going to end.

Though he was absorbing the wandering souls as he killed them, the spiritual energies he received were barely minimal so it continuously drained him.

He clicked his tongue and chuckled a bit. This is the very first time that he encountered a tough challenge after he finished training inside the Dark Bamboo Forest. Though he in soul form, he could still feel that his blood was boiling. A heroic air permeated around him as he stood up straight and gripped the claws and looked towards the next wave of souls with chilling gaze.

The remaining spiritual energies madly roared inside him, they circulated in a very erratic and quick manner, his soul form brighten up a bit as this happened and his Niwan Core flashed some brilliance.

Sieg didn't knew that there was a vortex above his head, this vortex resembled a fierce tornado that could seemingly sweep over any obstacles that he faced, this vortex sucked in huge amounts of spiritual energies in one go which then was purified again and again inside Sieg's body. But of course, all that in Sieg's mind right now is how he would perform his massacre.

Without a doubt, the demonic side of Sieg resurfaced again and is getting stronger and stronger as time goes on. Sieg grinned fiendishly as he stepped forward and appeared right in front of the beast wave.

Amidst all of the gray blood that spilled every where, fading bodies, screams and unwilling grunts of beast and the ruthless slaughter of a young man. A young stem emerge from the depths of the normal looking soil.
