26 I don't kill a junior

---

'Basic Awakening Ki Manual' this manual is uniformly acknowledged as the most trusted and simplest form Ki Manual to have ever been written, the author of the said manual said that he cultivated his Ki according to the contents of the manual and he had a smooth path towards the Awakening Realm and later, he became so powerful that he decided to release this manual to everyone so that many people could have a chance to became powerful like him as well.

After some years after the manual was released, the volume of cultivators raised by fivefold and after sharing the key to their success, all of them referred to the 'Basic Awakening Ki Manual' which further boosted it's popularity, and the author decided to not sell it on a high price and made a lot of copies for it so many people could afford the manual, this prompted a sudden rise to prominence and a brief period of peace.

Long time has passed since these events happened and this manual is considered as trash already, many people created basic ki manuals that are far more effective than this so the author and his manual was gradually forgotten.

Sieg was using the 'Basic Awakening Manual' for a very long time now. Fey gave it to him on his 'birthday' as a gift and Sieg treated this manual like a treasure ever since. The manual was great and all, it was greatly detailed and explained a lot of things so that even dumb people can understand it.

However, the manual is a 'Basic Level Manual' after all, these sorts of manual can only help people to cultivate until the peak of 9th step, which means the Basic Awakening Ki Manual that Sieg had for the longest of time would soon lose it's purpose.

But just like they say, if one door closes, others would open. What an opportunity this tournament was, he never expected that he would encounter a chance to have a Ki Manual here, and an Earth-Tier at that.

Basic-Tier, Earth-Tier, Heaven-Tier and the legendary Divine-Tier. This is the ascending order for manuals, body tempering and spirit cultivation techniques out there. For the people here in the city, encountering a Basic-Tier Ki Manual is an absolute treasure for them already, even for the clans that existed here. But now they were given a chance to experience the power of an Earth-Tier Ki Manual if they were placed 1st, how can they not be excited? However there's also some people who aren't that confident.

"Everyone, get on your designated battle platforms, we will start the match soon." The announcer said, everyone eagerly stepped inside the platforms assigned to them, Sieg also started to move.

He stepped on the 45th platform, he saw that there was already someone in there. It was a man who wear a bright violet robe that has dragons embroidered at the edges of it. He was holding a majestic looking sword that should be a 'Half-Step Artifact Weapon', as soon as this man Sieg walking towards him, he felt his excited all the sudden.

'My luck is really good, it looks like the 1st round is a pass for me!' He gazed at Sieg with disdain, he guessed that this boy probably cheated to pass the first part of the tests, there's just no way for someone this young to be able to kill 200 Fierce Beasts.

Sieg felt a bit irritated, he met one of those 'young masters' again, and it was incredibly obvious that this person is looking down on him yet he didn't made any moves yet, he will have his revenge later.

"On this round, the top 50 rankings would be decided, that means that if you win then you're already an outer disciple for your chosen sect. Now I announce that the 2nd part of this Yearly Sect Tournament officially begins!"

As soon as the announcer's voice fell, waves of attacks were thrown one after another, although they weren't allowed to kill, they absolutely won't hold anything back. On the platform where Sieg is, his opponent gazed at him with pity and said:

"Just admit defeat already, you're already a Service Disciple, this Big Brother doesn't want to hurt a precious Junior." He said laughingly.

"Where do you think you're looking at?" He suddenly felt a presence behind his back, he blinked furiously and immediately retreated so fast, his senses were screaming a grave danger, a crisis that would easily take his precious life away if he didn't retreat.

"Y-you! How!?" He said in disbelief, he can't believe it, in one moment there was a great distance between him and Sieg yet in a blink of an eye, Sieg arrived behind him, what is this concept?

"That's not where I am..." it happened again, Sieg appeared behind him again. And just like before the man retreated in fear, his mind was in disarray, he was trembling all over, he didn't want to but he had no choice, his body wasn't in his control already. Never in his life that he felt something so terrifying such as this. He was nearly pissing his pants, the hand that was holding his sword was trembling beyond belief. He felt incredibly humiliated, no one dared to do this type of thing to him before, and what's even worst is that a 'kid' was doing it to him. He looked incredibly pathetic right now but can't do anything about since above all of this he understood one thing.

This match is too one-sided.

"1 minute has passed already, I can make 10 attacks under that time..." Sieg's voice was grating on his ear, he didn't appeared behind him this time, Sieg appeared in front of him, his innocent face were now showing a bit of his true colors, this bit however was enough to make the man tear up. "If I was attacking an unguarded enemy then I can probably make at least 20. What do you think?" Sieg looked straight into the man's eyes, which cause the latter to fall into an even deeper despair.

Sieg's meaning is very simple, it couldn't be any clearer for the man. 'I could've kill you 20 times already yet I didn't because I don't kill a precious 'Junior'.'

The man laughed bitterly, he dropped his weapon, clasped his hand towards Sieg and said: "Thanks for sparing my life, I admit defeat." He announced his decision and walked away, afraid to even make any eye contact to anyone. He was incredibly pathetic in the match, he was pretty sure that if his clan knew about this then it won't matter even if he's a Service Disciple, he would still be looked down upon. Sieg's look of pity was deeply engraved in his mind, that face would absolutely haunt him for the rest of his life, and he couldn't do anything about it.

'He's just too strong...'

Sieg hid his ferocity and his 'innocent' look surfaced. He looked at the badge that was handed over to him before the match started, a number 1 appeared which means that he won one battle already and he's already an Outer Disciple of a sect.

He slowly stepped down in the platform and he saw that many people are enjoying and cheering, some even placed bet towards some of the well known people. He smiled and went to the resting area, he decided to calmly wait for all of the matches to be over.

"I admit defeat..." a young man said and walked off the platform.

"You let me win..." a man who's wearing a gorgeous yellow robes said and smile, he too walked off from the platform and looked at his badge, there was a number 1 signifying that he passed the first round.

"As expected of young master Jiang Chen!"

"He didn't even sweat from the fight."

"Fight? It wasn't a fight, it was more of like young master giving that dude some face since he reached this round."

"How magnanimous!"

"Please look over here young master Jiang Chen!"

The young man named Jiang Chen smiled and thought 'I really am famous, what can I do, I'm just way too awesome!'

He was incredibly shameless deep down, this is what the crowd didn't knew about him, only his father and mother knew, of course he didn't hid it to them since this attitude came from them anyway.

Jiang Clan, one of the most prominent clan that existed inside the Great Blue Carp City for quite sometime already. Being the first born of such a clan, of course he was showered with flattery and admiration since birth, the term: 'Son of Heaven' is given to him when the whole knew he can cultivate. Well this wasn't given to him because he's the only he can cultivate in his clan, it was because he was the son of the Clan Head, so this title is just a mere flattery.

Yet Jiang Chen claimed this title without any remorse, he showed humbleness in front of the crowd but deep down he thought: 'Yes that's right! I am a true, real deal, Son of Heaven, no one else in my age is my match. A total genius right here.' He felt incredibly proud, he couldn't help but to lift his chest a bit higher. He looked around and saw some familiar faces in the arena, he felt even more proud, he finished faster than them so that means he's far stronger than them.

He smirked a bit and went towards the resting area, he decided to recover a bit since he used some of ki during the last battle. However, something unexpected happened.

There was someone who came earlier than him.

He was shocked, he looked carefully at this person. He had white hair that is close to waist length already, he wore a brown robe that looked like it was made from the softest materials. This person's face looked like a dignified, young scholar, he guessed that he's younger than him to top it all off. He was silently meditating in there, seemingly not aware of his presence at all.

He awoke from his stupor when he suddenly heard another voice.

"Jiang you twerp! Don't think that you're stronger than me just because you finished faster than me!" This person was named Li Chen, this person proclaimed himself to be his 'rival', they already dueled each other many times already but always ended up in a draw. Although Jiang Chen was incensed about this, he didn't mind, his way of thinking is still the same.

"Do your worst then." He replied nonchalantly yet inside his mind he was like: 'It's either a draw or your defeat, don't even dream of beating me.'

Li Chen fumed in rage, he was about to say more but he restrained himself, the announcer told them that fighting is not allowed the resting area. He found a nice and comfortable spot and rested in there, he didn't even noticed Sieg's presence at all, same goes for Jiang Chen upon turning his head.

'Was it just my imagination?' Jiang Chen thought, he can't help but feel that something was amiss, he can't put a finger on what it is though.

Time passed and soon, the resting room was slowly being filled with people who won the first round, they're basically doing the same thing as the others, resting. They need to be on their top condition or else gunning for the 1st place is just going to be a dream for them. The competition went for a total of two hours until everybody was done. The winners breathe a sigh of relief, even if they are defeated now, at least being an Outer Disciple isn't bad compared to a Service Disciple. The losers are disheartened a bit, they lost a chance to save some years of effort to be an Outer Disciple, getting the Earth-Tier Ki Manual is but a dream for them now.

Now all they need to do is to wait for the further announcement for the top ranking battles.
