Chapter 31: Zoe's request and Lucius's answer (1)

An hour had passed in the blink of an hour. Lucius and Zoe stood before a modest house nestled between two towering buildings. The house, constructed of weathered black bricks with patches of white, bore a humble appearance. Despite a few visible holes in the walls, it retained its simple charm amidst the imposing structures surrounding it.

Zoe looked at Lucius and confirmed.

"Is this your home?" Zoe asked Lucius, her voice carrying surprise.

Lucius just nodded his head in approval when he was asked this question.

"Shall we go inside now?" Lucius asked Zoe.

Hearing this, Zoe just nodded her head in approval. Both of them began to walk towards the gate of the house.

When they were close enough, they tried to open the gate but realized that it was locked from the inside. Lucius knocked at the door and waited for someone to open it.

The moment the door was opened, Lucius saw her sister Emma standing in front of the door.

"Big bro you are late, it's in the middle of the night. What were you doing outside for so long?" Emma asked Lucius.

"Well, I have been just busy training," Lucius said as he patted her head

He didn't intend to tell his family about the fight that he had in the smithy since that would cause them meaningless tension.

Emma just nodded her head when she heard that, she looked around and spotted Zoe just beside Lucius.

"Btw brother, who is she?" Emma asked as she pointed her finger towards Zoe.

"Hmm, she…" Just as Lucius was about to speak, he was interrupted by Zoe.

Zoe walked towards Emma with a smile on her face. When she was close enough, she fell on her knees and said,

"I am a good friend of your big brother. So you can call me big sister" Zoe said to Emma.

"Hmmm, I don't want you as a big sister" Emma replied.

Zoe just smiled when he heard that, she took out a packet from her pockets which she gave to Emma. A chocolate was inside the packet, the chocolate was black.

Emma took the chocolate as she looked at Zoe.

"Is this one?" Emma asked Zoe.

Zoe just nodded his head in approval, when she heard that.

"Ok I won't be your big sister but can we at least become friends" Zoe asked.

Emma nodded her head in approval when he heard that.

"Yes, let's go inside" Emma replied as she held Zoe's hand and headed inside.

Lucius, who was watching this from a distance, felt a little bit of jealousy.

"My little sister forgot about me because of a little bit of chocolate. Zoe knows the art of winning children's hearts" Lucius thought to himself.

A few seconds later, he shook his head.

"Regardless, I should head inside now" Lucius muttered under his breath.

Lucius began to walk towards the door of the house which was on the left side. Lucius closed the door when he was inside.

He began to look for Zoe, he found her and Emma sitting down in one of the chairs of the dining tables, Lucius walked towards the dining table.

"What are you doing here?" Lucius asked Zoe who was sitting on one of the chairs.

"Can't you see, I am chatting with your sister" Zoe explained the current situation.

Lucius just nodded his head as he moved his mouth closer to her ears.

"You wait here for some time, I will let my mother know of your arrival. After that, we will go to our room, where you can tell us what you want me to do" Lucius whispered in Zoe's ears.

Just as Lucius was about to go to the kitchen, Emma got up and said.

"Big bro, I will tell Mom about my big sister," Emma said cheerfully.

Hearing this Lucius thought that it wasn't a bad idea since it would save time.

"Alright Emma but make sure to tell Mom about the name of Big Sister Zoe, also tell her that we are going to our room to have a chat" Lucius explained to Emma.

Lucius especially emphasized telling the name of Zoe since only then his Mom will realize the identity of Zoe.

"Ok, big brother!" Emma replied as she walked towards the kitchen.

Lucius' attention was drawn towards Emma as she walked towards the kitchen. When she entered the kitchen, Lucius turned his attention towards Zoe.

"Shall we go inside?" Lucius asked Zoe as he looked at her.

Zoe nodded her head as she stood up.

"Let's go inside," Zoe exclaimed.

"Follow me," Lucius replied.

Lucius began to head towards his room while Zoe closely followed behind him. A few seconds later, Lucius appeared in front of the door of his room.

He opened up the door of the room, then he and Zoe walked inside. After getting inside, Zoe looked left and right, examining the surroundings.

Seeing this Lucius frowned heavily.

"What are you looking at? Sit down at the bed" Lucius exclaimed.

"This is your room, it's quite small but it will do," Zoe said as she looked around.

Lucius nodded his head with a visible frown on his face.

"Don't you know basic manners, calling someone's room small," Lucius exclaimed sounding a bit angry.

Zoe just shook her head a few seconds later as she sat down on Zoe's bed.

"I apologize for my rude behavior but can you please close the door so that we can talk?" Zoe exclaimed.

Nevertheless, Lucius nodded and walked towards the door, and closed it.

He made sure to lock the door so that no one could come inside while they were talking.

When Lucius was done locking the doors, he walked towards the bed and kept his sword there.

"Is there any problem if I keep my sword beside you?" Lucius asked Zoe who was sitting

Zoe just shook her head in response, signaling that it was ok. After that, he walked towards a chair that was not too far away from the bed. He sat down on the chair.

"Now tell me, what favor do you want from me" Lucius asked, he got straight to the point without wasting any time.

When Zoe heard that, seriousness was visible on her face.

"Wait a minute," Zoe said to Lucius.

Lucius just nodded his head, he didn't mind waiting for a minute or two.

There was a small pouch attached to her waist, her hand moved towards the pouch. She opened the pouch and took out a small blue chip that was in the shape of a rectangle.

Even before Lucius had the time to speak, she placed the chip on the floor as she channeled mana into it.

A dome was formed around them within a few seconds. Lucius looked around the dome and frowned.

"What is this dome for?" Lucius asked.

"This dome will block all kinds of sounds from reaching outside," Zoe replied in an instant.

When Lucius heard, an upset look was visible on his face.

"My mom and sister will never eavesdrop on our conversation" Lucius replied, he sounded angry and upset.

Seeing the upset look on his face, Zoe knew that she must clarify for setting up this barrier.

"I didn't set this barrier because of your family. I set up this barrier because I don't want my bodyguard to hear our conversation since he is always lurking around me" Zoe replied, she sounded annoyed.

When Lucius heard that he just nodded his head in approval. He didn't ask her the reason because it's her matter. As long as she doesn't doubt his family members it's fine.

"Anyway, First of all, tell me, do you know anything about dungeons?" Zoe asked Lucius, her voice carrying seriousness.
