Reaching the police station and getting them up to the present about my situation, As One officer hurriedly brought me to a basement under the police station that was meant to rein in and confine me incase I failed the nightmare and turned into a flesh eating monster.

After making sure the straps were tight and locked in place, Another officer came to the basement, from the stern expression that he was wearing to the way he was holding himself, He seemed like a captain as he walked calmly towards me. his hands clasped behind his back.

"What's your name kid?" he looked down at me for a response to his question.

"Ariel, sir" hearing my answer, he nodded his head before his eyes shone with a solemn glint as he said "You know what you're up against. right? what do you know about nightmares?".

In response to this I only said a few words "I know enough to survive sir".

One of His eyebrows cocked up as he let out a sigh "fine, at least you're confident in yourself, But please don't fail, I don't wanna have another creature breathing down on our necks, We lost three men the other day when one of the deceased failed his nightmare and turned into a nightmare creature."

I couldn't reply as I felt my vision blurring and the noise of the surroundings tuning out, as just the thought of sleep filled my head, In turn making me slip into the comfortable realm of unconsciousness that welcomed me with open arms.

[Aspirant! welcome to the nightmare spell. prepare for your first trial...]

'I'm....here, My first trial' I watched on while coming out of my dazed state as I focused my eyes on the battle ground beneath me where thousands of soldiers and nightmare creatures were fighting each other.

There was death. there was ruthlessness and savagery I have never seen before in humans in my first life, That shook me up quite a bit.

This.....this is war.

But before I could reflect on what I've just seen the battlefield changed, Like a movie screen as it showed the result of the battle where the nightmare creatures were the only ones remaining and quite a number of them at that, They were feasting on the flesh of their dead comrades as well as the human bodies that were left behind.

I stayed silent throughout the scene, But suddenly a pulling force like someone grabbing both of my feet pulled me down before I could react, bringing me down into the body of a dead boy with his arms both ripped off by one of the abominations in the area, So guess my surprise when a searing pain clouded my mind as it took all of me to not cry out.

I grit my teeth so hard that blood started dripping down the side of my lips, because I was not used to pain all thanks to my previous life I could only grit my teeth to deal with it, the pain was like being pinched very suddenly and very painfully at once.

Fighting through the pain, I didn't move a single muscle for the fear of being discovered by one of the creatures.

My only hope and saving grace was my aspect as I barely muttered 'status' in my mind.

Immediately a set of shimmering runes appeared before my eyes detailing my aspect and attributes...

Pushing the excitement that was almost drowning me amidst the pain down, I focused on my list of broken attributes, specifically [instant regeneration] as the name is self explanatory, I could feel it, the feeling of my body slowly healing and adapting, Thus giving me a bit of reprieve from the terrible agony, allowing me to think clearly.

I then decided to check out my two other attributes, ignoring my now sensitive scratchy thumps of arms, A clear sign that it was healing. to set my eyes on the descriptions of my two other abilities....

Almost laughing out loud due to my luck, I held myself back as only a small groan left my mouth.

I began to think about how I could beat this nightmare to have the best evaluation, because the higher your evaluation the more it means you defied fate....

'But wait, fate can't influence me, although that's mostly a good thing there is one downside of this ability, It isn't a truly horrible downside because most nightmares are from the past of the dream realm. meaning it has already happened, So it means the body I'm in somehow survived this damn hell in the past or..... was it his fate to die here?.

'If that's so, It makes a lot of sense now, Maybe because I'm immune to fate, I ended up in this body meaning that this has never happened in the past which also means that I've just created a branch in the history of the dream realm with me as the center of it.'

With my instincts blaring in response to the thoughts in my head, I was pretty sure I'm onto something.

Suddenly, A surge of energy washed over me, filling my body with strength as I flexed my fully regenerated arms in the air with a relived smile on my face, But it was short lived as I could feel the ground trembling beneath me.

Looking the farthest I could see with my now stronger vision, There, A towering abomination that looked like a worm but so much more terrifying. It was coming in my direction at a speed that was hard for me to comprehend, Its big body was 20 meters long and 9 meters thick.

It was coming towards me with such a madnening fervor that made my hair stand up as the adrenaline kicked in and my body fully on automatic mode ran with a speed that I didn't even know was possible.

'Shit! Shit! Shit!

and the reason for my fear was the strange runes that appeared when I gazed at the monster.....

A/N:I hope you guys liked it and don't be mistaken, I will make my character OP but he has to work a little bit for it plus this is not the end of his powers as when he becomes an awakened and a master he will get an upgrade or unlock something new.
