20 Chapter 19

A gruelingly slow week passed. With me going out to get soul shards for Cassie's use along with food so that she doesn't starve on me. I've also been looking for a more important thing. Clothes.

Yes, I haven't found any type of clothes. So we were still sleeping naked with Cassie getting more and more comfortable sleeping in my embrace, it became something like a habit for us. As when night time arrives, she herself snuggles up to me. Searching for my warmth and body.

And I of course can't refuse her.

Eventually the last day in our makeshift home arrived, bringing along with it an uncertain silence. Cassie has been silent since the moment I've come back from my hunt, which finally had some positive results in the form of two Awakened ranked memories that I received as a reward for killing almost twenty scavengers at once.

[Father's Love]

[Memory Type]: Armour.

[Memory Rank]: Awakened.

[Memory Tier]: II

Memory description: [There was once a champion. His name was--------, he slayed countless abomination that were plaguing his kingdom. Eventually he was hailed as a hero by the populace. And this memory was a gift given to him by his father when he was a kid. A memory he will never forget as it was the start of his journey towards becoming the hero he so much desired to be.]

[Memory Enchantments]: [Unbreakable Will].

[Unbreakable Will]: [As long as you never lose your will to live, the memory will give you warmth in a way that you may need.]

***

The second memory had the same description and everything, though the name threw me off a little. It was expected considering the memories description.

All that matters now, is that we have clothes or armour. whatever it is, as long as it's covering us we're good and it also has a passive effect.

Lucky.

I immediately summoned forth the new armor, and it turned out to be a bluish-green full bodysuit that hugged my entire figure tightly but it was quite comfortable as a warming energy spread throughout my body. Prompting me to let out a sigh of bliss.

It sure didn't lie when it said it would give you warmth that you may need.

My chest plate had needle like protrusions spread out across it unnaturally. And it even gave me a set of dark blue boots that were very soft on the inside but rigid in the outside.

The other parts of the armor were sleek and clean, they shone clearly in the light of the setting sun. Reflecting the sunlight and giving me a holy priest look.

I eyed Cassie before coughing to get her attention "Cassie, I have good news, I got some clothes for us. And what's more amazing is that both of them are memories of the awakened rank. So we're good on defense for now."

Cassie expression lightened up a bit as she smiled and nodded happily. While I put my hand on hers to transfer the memory to her.

A second after she got it. Cassie began looking blankly at the air, clearly signaling she was reading the memories description and what it is capable off.

As for how she can see the spell? You may ask. It's Becuase it's the spell. That's it.

Anyway. After a minute, the same armor formed around her body, giving me a good show of it tightening and sticking to her lithe body. Drawing a very nicely done specimen of a woman dressed in armour.

I smiled in praise "That looks stunning on you, Cassie." Which resulted in her smiling appreciatively and gratefully as she said….

"Thank you Ariel, I... I can't even imagine what would've happened to me if you hadn't found me in this remote corner of this region."

My smile widened as I considered telling her the news of leaving or maybe I should wait a bit more till she gets more confident in herself.

My expression turned into a serious one as I said "Look Cassie, I'm suggesting that we should leave tomorrow morning and set out to look for sunny or any other sleeper that we might recognise.... Are you with me?"

Cassie's face faltered, hesitation creeping in on her face as she tried not to look scared by stating "S-Sure I'm ready….. I think so."

I laughed at her attempt at trying to look tough and encouraging for me.

What a sweet, kind girl.

We then talked on and on with a now flushed Cassie as she tried to put behind the previous conversation in the gutter.

But I didn't let her do that so easily.

So of course I ended up teasing the hell out of her until she actually begged me to stop with a fully red face.

We spent the afternoon just idling about and around, eventually. Cassie ended up in my hands. Pressing her armoured body into me as she decided to take a nap.

Looking down at her sleeping face made me yawn…

Man, she sleeps like a log even in a situation like this.

Hmmm?

I turned my head in a certain direction where two human figures obscured my senses. And there they were, both Sunny and Nephis walking alongside each other. Weapons in their hands, and carefull of their surroundings by the way they inspected the place for any dangers.

I chuckled at the ridiculousness of this scene before gently trying to wake Cassie up from her sleep, which turned out to be harder than I thought as no matter what I did, it didn't seem to work.

Christ! Just how much do you want to sleep!? Are you that tired?

A minute later, the two of them came close to the hidden trench we were in. Causing me to sigh before standing up and walking towards the entrance to intercept the two.

"You two! Come here!"

Hearing my voice, their first reaction was to grab their weapons in alarm before sunny looked up at a widely grinning man in armour similar to those awakend creatures. Sunny immediately sighed in relief after recognising me, with Nephis's eyes glowing with a relieved light that nobody sensed or deducted. Not even Ariel himself.

Sunny was wearing the armour that he got from his first nightmare while Nephis had an ocean coloured cloak draping over her shoulders, along with beach sandals. Giving her a particular presence in the midst of this weary place.

"Come in here! I will explain everything once we're inside."

With my shout, the two ran to our spot Because of the setting sun and finally finding a place to rest, prompting them to hasten their pace a little bit.

When they finally reached our home, they were startled at the sleeping figure of Cassie, with Sunny looking at me for answers which i nodded too.

"I know you two have questions, but just relax for now. Nothing will threaten you here."

Sunny and Nephis nodded tiredly as the fatigue of being on guard and walking through a forest filled with dangers must have been immense. With the stress being not much less, so I didn't blame them when they just laid down on the floor with a thump before the sound of loud snoring rang out in the cave.

The source surprisingly was Nephis as her chest heaved up and down repeatedly. Clearly obvious that she'd been in too much stress, even too much for someone like her to handle.

Sunny was just as shocked as me. And with twitching eyebrows, he tried to sleep and just after a few seconds his breath began turning into a rhythmic loop.

I looked around the trench with a small smile….

"What to do now that I'm all alone."

A/N: I know it was a pretty short ch beside the other ones but like I said I have my midterms just tomorrow so you'll have to be satisfied with this, also thank you for the support and send power stones!!!!!
