14 Chapter 14

Well...

That didn't go as well as I thought, But whatever. It's not like they can't fix him up, In the novel they could even regenerate severed limbs for good.

So….. I'm good.

I think so.

Anyway. After the professor left with the limp body, The other kids were still in shock except Nephis and caster of course. So the empty halls' atmosphere turned heavier and heavier by the second.

Eventually I let out a chuckle that broke the silence of the crowd of sleepers….

"You saw what I did to him. Well guess what…. All along I was planning on doing the same thing to every single one of you. So that for the next time we meet. You wouldn't even dare look me in the eyes. But I guess that plan has failed successfully by the looks on your faces."

The first thing you do to a group of already scared fawns is to scare them even more, In order to assert your standing and make them re-evaluate you to a higher level. So I did just that.

Expectedly, neither Nephis nor caster was intimidated by my act, With the latter even having a calculating glow to his perpetually cold eyes. Which cemented the fact of being wary against him.

After a while of waiting, That passed rather peacefully thanks to my earlier display of violence, Shaking up the noisy ones while also shutting up the now pale fuckers who laughed at me.

The professor returned with an impassive face, He immediately set his eyes on me as he began to speak "Although you did more than what you should have done. It's my responsibility for not accounting a person from such a….. Peculiar background to have that much strength. So I will take the blame this time, After all. I was the one who said don't hold back, However don't let me catch you doing that again, Sleeper Ariel. I too have my limits."

I smiled pleasantly in response "Thank you, Sir. I appreciate your forgiveness."

He nodded to my words before remarking in the tone of a general instead of a teacher "Listen up! Even though it seems like Ariel did a horrible thing in your eyes. That is exactly what I want from you. I want decisiveness, I want no hesitation. Sleeper Ariel showed us an example of what to expect from a real battle."

I raised an eyebrow as a reply to his words. Though I do appreciate his words, I only attacked fast because the itching for violence reached a point of no return. Prompting me to do 'that' to my pitiful opponent.

But I don't feel bad. He had it coming for him.

While I was thinking of ways to better control my strength. Surprisingly, The lesson continued.

I guess this place really doesn't have any mercy for the weak.

*Pa*

I turned my attention to the ongoing match between Caster and Nephis. Nephis particularly was firmly rooted in place in the middle of the area, Deflecting and blocking every attack coming towards her with graceful ease.

Cater was doing his best to land a hit on her. Using his aspect to the fullest, Which in turn made his figure blurry because of how fast he was.

Nephis was flatly looking in front of her when caster blurred behind her, His leg already traveling in the air with a terrifying amount of power behind it.

Nephis simply Ducked her head before turning around And sending a flurry of fast attacks that caster had a bit of a hard time dodging.

Sensing he couldn't go on any longer caster utilised his aspect and backed out in the blink of an eye. Slightly panting due to the strain he was put through by Nephis' battle genius.

No wonder she was hailed as a genius. Even I'm not that calm when I fight. When I'm in a battle, I can feel the adrenaline pumping through my body. Getting me into a high where I tune out my surroundings and just put my absolute focus on the enemy in front of me.

I really have to better my concentration and control of my body. Maybe if I could go back into that state, When I was able to see 'everything' in a 5-meter radius. After that I could sense a bit of everything, It was like I unlocked something. Something that I shouldn't have opened.

Although it's a bit dangerous, Who am I if I don't take any risk, I shouldn't hesitate nor be afraid, Such carefulness sometimes can be your only blockage to growing stronger without you even noticing it.

So I'll do it. No biggie.

While the match went on, Everyone was too intranced by Nephis' performance. Especially the boys. That they were totally unaware of one of the shadows of the expansive hall swaying from side to side. As if it was watching the match. Not even Ariel sensed it.

...….

In the end Nephis won.

So After the match between caster and Nephis it was finally time for the free-for all. I was excited, very excited. To finally experience fighting a genius in battle.

We were put into position in the middle of arena by the instructor. With me in the middle and another guy in my group who was already shaking in fear of having to face me and Nephis to the right, While Nephis was standing to the left. An air of aloofness hanging around her.

Without turning my head. I spoke directly to the nobody "Hey ken!"

Ken flinched in response to hearing my voice and before he could say anything, I shooed him away…..

"Give up. I want to have a one on one with our aloof princess."

Ken' face was full of hesitation and hopelessness as he sighed bitterly and walked out of the ring.

Thank you for the sacrifice Ken, I will not remember you for sure.

Shaking my head to get rid of all the useless thoughts, I set my glittering eyes upon her empty ones as I spoke to her for the first time since ever…..

"I hope you don't mind me being a bit rough, Princess."

The girl in question didn't say anything and just tensed her body slightly, Signaling she was ready for the match.

Which drew an excited grin from me as I decided I will use a bit more strength, Becuase she is better at me in technique but not power. That is why I utilised my only advantage...

My overwhelming strength.

A second later, I was already upon her. Leaving In my place a foot deep crater. As for Nephis, Her eyes sharpened and locked on me The moment I entered her space with my hand only a centimetre away from hitting her stomach.

She thought of a way to dodge or block. Only for it to prove futile as the only option remaining was countering Ariel.

Time slowed down for both of our eyes, as my Fist collided with her stomach, causing a loud thump to sound out along with the pained gasp of Nephis. Her body coiled around my fist as a result of the amount of power gathered in my punch.

Nephis' counter attack ended up landing on the side of my face weakly. Her mouth already sputtering out a bunch of saliva.

When I pulled my hand back. I wasn't finished. So with that thought. I did an impressive round-kick that sliced through the air like a sword. Directly kicking her in the chin with the heel of my feet.

That resulted in her body being thrown like a rag across the floor. But a moment later, She got up with a bit of difficulty, Revealing an out of place bloodied chin as she panted roughly for breath. Her eyes still full of clarity…. And now seriousness.

I let out a sigh of relief 'Finally! She's getting serious, I caught her off guard really well by my burst of strength. But that is the end of my advantage.'

My true name really is effective. I could feel my body telling me what to do or what not to do, I wasn't that prone to thinking when I'm in a fight. Because while I was In the first nightmare I just slashed and slashed until I got a basic understanding of the sword.

This true name thing goes really deep doesn't it? I should experiment more with it when I'm alone.

Back to the match, Nephis was composing herself as she eyed me with absolute focus. Readying her stance again.

Huh.

She wants me to take the lead again?

I guess she likes it rough.

But no matter. I'm not one to judge people for their kinks.

Chuckling away the stupid thoughts, I sprinted towards her just like the last time, Evoking her to stand statuesque in the middle of the ring. And I did not disappoint as I reached her in a second with a wide grin. My right hand closed tightly as it practically slipped forward to meet her face.

This time out of everyone's expectations, Nephis parried my attack smoothly with the side of her arms before going straight for my jaw. As revenge for her injury.

Again, Everyone was surprised when I didn't even budge from my place when I received Nephis' powerful strike to my jaw. I just looked down on Nephis' furrowed grey brows with a sly smile as smoke drifted away from our point of contact.

"You'll have to do a lot more than that to break me, princess~" I intoned the last word as my leg swiped her feet away, And for Nephis to find herself in the air the next second in response to the terrifying punch she received to her stomach. In the same place as the first time.

Nephis' body was forced upwards a few meters due to the power of my attack. Before falling down into my arms like a princess greeting her prince, but unconscious.

The fight was good, It at least gave me a bit of satisfaction. But I'm really too powerful….

Hah... this is probably the bane of all OP protagonists, That is when they have no one strong enough to fight…..

It's actually pretty lonely.

And then I carried Nephis in a princess carry to the nursing room under the surprised and envious eyes of some of the fuckers, But when I turned my head their way, They pretended as if they were busy by talking nonsense.

Heh.

Fucking idiots.
