Miserable
In the Forbidden Mountain Range, there resides a large valley. This valley seems to contain its own world, separated by mountains from the rest. It was called the Heavenly Valley to the inhabitants. Inside, there are 4 clans. They are the Azure Dragon clan, Black Turtle clan, Vermillion Bird Clan, and the White Tiger clan. These are the descendants of the four divine beasts that descended on the mortal realm of Gaia. These clans used to spread all across the realm, amassing power and talent, but a calamity struck and now all that remains of the once great clans are the ones in this valley.
For centuries, the clans fought in many battles between themselves. To resolve this, the clans would choose three people in each of their clans every generation to marry into the other clans. This maintained an unsteady peace between the clans for millennia. This peace would be easily tipped, causing war for many years.
Jason Dragoon is the trash of the Dragon clan. He is the son of the intermarriage of the Dragon clan and the Vermillion Bird clan. His parents, Jack Dragoon and Mary Phoenix, were both extremely talented in their generations for cultivation. Jason's parents also come from inter marriages, with Jack being from the Dragon and Turtle clans and Mary being from the Bird and Tiger clans. Because of their talent levels, there was high hopes for their son Jason. At the yearly ceremony that tests the cultivation talent of the five year olds of each of the clans, Jason was found to have a efficiency in his core that makes him fall behind his clansmen. This deficiency makes it impossible for the clans to check his elemental affinity, and because his parents belong to two different bloodlines, the clans can not determine what technique to use for his cultivation.
After his ceremony, his talent was checked every year to see if his talent emerged. After 10 years, no one believed that his talent would emerge, not even Jason. This led people in the clans to torment him, especially those in his own generation.
As of now, Jason does chores to help the clan as the clan was not willing to provide for him if he did not contribute. As a cultivator, he would have been able to contribute in a more dignified manor, but since he was unable, he had to do the tasks no one wanted to do, like going to out of the way areas, and cleaning up the stables after the clans' tamed beasts. Today, Jason was doing his disgusting daily chores, mumbling bitterly, "Miserable, this is miserable".
