Idris was an orphan.

He had been one all his life. He did not know what happened to his family, but he didn't care either. He didn't have any goals to speak of, he was empty.

Thanks to the national education system, he was enrolled into a public school. Everyone avoided him like the plague, all because of his identity as a orphan.

He rarely had showers, so it was not completely his identities fault, but that was beside the point.

He was very lax with his studies, but always scored in the top ten in tests and such which made nearly everyone green with envy.

This was when the bullying started. He was frequently openly bullied, but no-one did anything.

He was an orphan. who was going to miss him anyway.

After every beating, he looked at all the bystanders with angry eyes, but before he could do things that no man would like have done to them, the anger was swallowed by an abyss, a hungry one at that.

Every.

Single.

Time.

Every time he felt something, the abyss would snatch it up. It would never give him the chance to wallow in his own feelings as the feelings would be eaten. Only tears trickling down his face could be felt but no emotion would come with it.

Every time he felt suicidal.

Gulp.

Every time he felt irritated.

Gulp.

Every time he felt like he had found something to invest himself in.

Gulp.

He became a husk of a human being. Slowly bringing his surroundings into a depressed state. It got to the point where other students emotions started to be eaten by the being that was the abyss.

Then came that faithful day.

At this point Idris had turned 14 he was ending middle school today and was going to high-school.

His school at the moment was only a shell of the school it was 5 years ago.

5 years was all it took for the abyss inside Idris to suck out all the emotions of everyone in the school.

Once they left school, they would start to regain them but once they came back they would instantly turn into the emotionless robots they were before.

The graduation ceremony was depressing to say the least but no one cared. Once it was over the crowd of 13 year old students and parents left the building.

Idris left through the front gate entrance, leaving behind him a trail of people with expressionless faces.

As Idris conversed the alleyways of his polluted Town area he found his way back to his usual, out of site, alley way.

As soon as he got there, he carefully took off and folded his school uniform and put it in one of the drawers that he found in a trashcan

The reason for this is because he didn't have many other clothes that were in such good condition so he wanted so keep them nice and tidy.

He readily switched into a ripped shirt that was once white but now a blackish-brown and a pair of joggers with urine stains. Also found in a trash can.

He laid in his sleeping bag, looking at the now dimming skyline his eyes were not empty anymore, but instead were filled with fascination. He did not notice his change in temperament and just continued to stare at the sky, gasping at some of the aeroplanes that flew over head.

He slowly drifted to sleep under the stars, not knowing what trials and tribulations would be presented in front of him from now on.

In a different place, at a different time, a 14 year old child slowly placed his hand on an almost ethereal crystal ball.

He was currently in a classroom with 23 others students. Outside the window was a campus that looked like it was out of science fiction. Cleaner robots, hovering car park etc

This was a technological advanced world.

The 14 year old boy had ink black scruffy hair that covered almost half of his eyes whilst his eyes were also ink black as well. He had handsome features for his age though you had to look closely to notice them whilst his whole being seemed to scream lazy.

This was Idris.

Idris had been in this world for two months already and had learnt some amazing things that peaked his interest, which wasn't swallowed by the abyss at all!

His world was called The Original.

It was an always growing plane in the turbulent Astral, which was like space but different.

The original was not in any discernible shape, and no one had been around the world and drawn the map of as it would be rendered useless in a few years due to the ever growing nature of the plane.

Idris had coincidently found out that this world wasn't a world focused on science and technology but Gods!

Yes, Gods!

Not everyone could have the chance to become a God, only 10% of the Original's human population were able to have the potential to become a God.

The people with this potential would be moved up to the 'Second Layer. The second layer was a artificially built continent.

Everyone on the Second layer had a divine egg. A divine egg was the minimum requirement to start your journey to become a God.

In this life, Idris was also an orphan, though, he wasn't discriminated against due to the abundance of orphans in the world.

The thing that Idris was doing right now was a ceremony to activate their divine eggs. If they have a divine egg they will be brought to the second layer where they will enrol into a new high school on the second layer.

Idris finally placed his hands upon the crystal ball and closed his eyes.

Idris woke up in a dark space, it was boundless and quiet but at the same time Idris felt he could travel thousands of miles in a split second.

Idris started to get curious and started to explore and roam this dark realm.

After what felt like eons, he stumbled upon a egg, pulsating in a black light.

After staring at it for a while Idris felt an impulse to touch it.
