1 Planet Sapphire

Planet Sapphire was a world that closely resembled Planet Earth.

The only difference was that the humans of Planet Sapphire were governed by imperial beasts. 

Fearsome Beasts ran amuck on Planet Sapphire. Humans had specifically researched ways to control the Fearsome Beasts in order to deal with them.

They would sign a contract with the Fearsome Beasts.

This would allow them to control the Fearsome Beasts in a fight and merge with them, using their power to grow even stronger.

Besides, they could also make full use of their abilities.

These humans were known as Imperial Beastmasters!

Fang Chen was among many Imperial Beastmasters.

However, he did not have a contract with a Fearsome Beast but with a small, average white rabbit.

Furthermore, all of this had been discussed from the moment he had entered the Poland Education Institute.

On Planet Sapphire, becoming an Imperial Beastmaster was a requirement for anyone who wanted to enter an educational institute.

Therefore, in order to enroll at college, poverty-stricken Fang Chen, who had no money for the high-level Fearsome Beasts in this realm, had no choice but to sign a contract with a white rabbit.

His initial plan was to work hard after entering college, grow stronger, and then switch to a different contracted Fearsome Beast when he had the chance.

Unexpectedly, three years passed in the blink of an eye and his goal of attaining the level of an elite was still very distant.

"Mom, Dad, I know you're supporting me in spirit from heaven. Aren't you?" After packing his clothes, Fang Chen gazed at their family portrait. His nose was wrinkled, and his eyes brimmed with warm tears.

"Persevere! I must persevere. I cannot be weak. I will avenge my parents!" Fang Chen cheered himself on after a while, swallowing his sadness.

Before long, he packed up his parents' possessions. The spacious apartment seemed much emptier now.

There was one more thing left to take care of.

His contracted beast.

He could buy another Fearsome Beast once the house was sold. Naturally, his current contracted beast would have to be dealt with.

If it were a true Fearsome Beast, it would have to be an amicable separation. However, he was contracted to a white rabbit. Therefore, he had contacted a pet shop beforehand and was ready to send the bunny to them.

Of course, he had developed feelings for the little white rabbit too after spending three years with it.

Even though the white rabbit had never been able to elevate his powers as his contracted beast, it had been privy to many of his innermost feelings.

Honestly, he really couldn't stand not having the white rabbit with him.

Unfortunately, he had no choice.

Each human could only be contracted to one Fearsome Beast. Besides, he wasn't sure where he would live from now on. The white rabbit would only suffer if he kept it.

Plus, if he stayed in college, he would not be allowed to have any pets.

He had made up his mind, so he acted on his decision. The beast symbols on his wrist slowly took shape, emitting a huge glow.

Soon, the light faded away, revealing a flawless white rabbit to Fang Chen.

The little rabbit hopped to Fang Chen's leg as soon as it appeared, nuzzling affectionately against his trouser leg.

Fang Chen squatted down and took the rabbit into his arms, a glimmer of reluctance appearing in his eyes.

"I'm sorry, Xiao Bai. I won't be able to stay with you anymore."

Xiao Bai seemed to understand Fang Chen's words and nuzzled its head into Fang Chen's chest.

This gesture softened Fang Chen's heart just a little.

However, he needed power. If he wanted vengeance, he had to leave Xiao Bai.

Just as he was about to take Xiao Bai to the pet shop across the road from his house, he suddenly heard a voice in his head that stopped him in his tracks as though he had been struck by lightning.

"Ding! Congratulations, host. It's your eighteenth birthday! The Divine Beast System has been activated successfully."

"Ding! Divine Beast System contract in progress. Only host: Fang Chen!"

"Ding! The Divine Beast System has been activated. The Divine Beast training function has been unlocked."

"Please select a training partner!"

Fang Chen looked at Xiao Bai, who was nestled in his arms, and unlocked the depository.

"Training venue: Mythical World!"

"Training period: 1,000 years!"

"First-time training reward triggered— Time*100."

"Begin training in the Mythical World for 100,000 years!"

A white flash appeared, and Xiao Bai disappeared from Fang Chen's arms into thin air.

It took Fang Chen a long time before he came back to his senses.

Everything that had happened felt like a dream.

However, Xiao Bai really had disappeared.

Then, he checked his wrist for the beast symbol that marked his contract with Xiao Bai and relaxed.

Soon, Fang Chen's heart was filled with apprehension.

He was no stranger to systems, but what the heck was the Divine Beast System?

Besides, what was the use of the Divine Beast training function? Could it train Xiao Bai into a Divine Beast?

The scenery in front of Fang Chen suddenly changed, and a black whirlpool materialized before his eyes out of the blue.

Then, a beautiful, slender, elegant woman stepped out of a spatial rift, smiling as she approached Fang Chen.
