4 Scarlet Red

Zephyr quickly grew in terms of age, height and many other aspects. He was now three years old with sharp and defining features in his face. Spiky silver hair and scarlet red eyes. He liked his eyes more than before, scarlet definitely looked better than ruby red on him.

The Instructor, who everyone called Instructor Tai had praised him for being 'above' all the others in terms of physique and mentality.

Instructor Tai was a sturdy and massive man standing at over a hundred and ninety-five centimeters. He dwarfed practically everyone else. Besides Instructor Tai, there was a second lesser Instructor who was named Instructor Li.

Instructor Li was said to be from the deserts, something the kingdom of Dalmo was widely known. His skin was brown in color, put together with blond hair and a good physique; he did not resemble a common soldier in the slightest.

Zephyr had done some of his own search for information. Instructor Li was a master of Qi, to be more precise he was a Body Cultivator. Despite that, he was thrown into a desolate corner of the kingdom.

He most likely had pissed off his higher-ups. Instructor Tai was only a Mana-user, but his ability to use Mana was unrivaled in the entire town.

"Come on little munchkins, I know you can manage ten push-ups, it is not that hard!" Compared to Instructor Li, Instructor Tai was warmer in his heart. Although he pushed the Orphans a lot, he was also someone who congratulated them for the slightest improvement.

There were two groups who Instructor Tai and Instructor Li taught. The first one ranged from two years to six years in terms of age. The second group was between seven and thirteen.

The second group at the age of fourteen would leave for the Army. There they would serve the country to protect themselves against the Barbarians of the south.

Zephyr was still young however, his achievements equaled zero in this world. He wouldn't join the army yet.

"Punch to your right!" Instructor Tai instructed Zephyr who grew in annoyance. The style he was being taught was full of holes which the enemy could use.

Zephyr grew in annoyance as he decided to take this into his own two hands and two legs. He whipped his leg upwards, slamming it at Instructor Tai's waist.

Or so was the original plan. Despite having his physical strength increased beyond average human levels, Instructor Tai was far stronger than Zephyr. He blocked the leg with his forearm.

Then he widened his hand and grabbed the leg. Just when he thought he had won, Zephyr used that as a lift upwards. He lunged his upper body up and threw a fist at Instructor Tai.

Caught off-guard Instructor Tai barely managed to move his head left; only to face Zephyr's other fist straight on.

*PAW*

:,,,:

Arthur gawked in amazement. The five years old boy couldn't help but feel amazed at this short close range spar. Zephyr had actually managed to land a hit on Instructor Tai's face, even leaving a decently visible bruise in his right cheek.

Despite being astonished, Instructor Tai was also a bit depressed at the fact a kid who had yet to even reach four years of age had managed to land a clear hit on him.

Instructor Li snickered as he neared his friend that was not left unnoticed as Instructor Tai glared at him.

"I see that you got punched by an orphan. Not even a quarter of your age and he still somehow punched you." He said as he sat down next to Instructor Tai.

"Don't even mention it. That brat really amazes me every day. The punch he threw at me was strong enough to crack and shatter an enormous rock."

"Err, Tai, neither of you were using Mana or Qi right?" Instructor Li knew that Zephyr could use Qi, which was why he rated him so highly.

"Well his undeveloped body can't even use Qi for a very long time, I thought you were very serious when you explained it to him ten times in a row. He might be a kid, but he is no fool."

Instructor Li rolled his eyes…

~~

Zephyr panicked, he had unintentionally revealed more of his power than what he would have liked to. He was just pissed by how cocky Instructor Tai had been at the time. Apparently, he was being influenced by this body's emotions as well.

He slammed his hand on a tree, creating a decently sized hole in it. He was lacking in self-control, something very important.

"I shouldn't let the emotions overtake me… That is one of the basic rules of cultivators!" He muttered to himself in a very low tone.

"ZEPH!" He sighed as he turned his head to see Arthur and some of his friends or 'Hero's Friends and Companions' as he would like to call them.

"What do you want Arthur?" Zephyr said with a hint of annoyance. He couldn't care less about what some kids wanted.

"What you did to In...Instructor Tai was crazy!" Arthur exclaimed as his eyes shone with a weird gleam. "Please teach me your ways!"

"No, you have two instructors to help in your training, go away now and leave me alone." Zephyr snorted, starting to walk away from the scene.

Before Arthur could even muster another word out, Zephyr had tripled his speed with Qi, leaving him and his lackeys just gawking at the scene.

"So COOOOOL!"

~~

Unknowingly to Zephyr, he had gained a lot of unwanted attention, not just from Arthur and his friends, but also the higher-ups of the Army.

At this very same moment, Zephyr was climbing a cliff using just one of his hands. If he wanted to grow stronger, such training was required. Besides, he had always wanted to try this out.

Coating the tip of his fingers and toes Zephyr leaped into the cliff, several meters ahead of his previous position.

If one were to look downwards, they'd discover they were at least a good two hundred meters away from the ground.

Sweat dripped from the top of his forehead, rolling down to his chin before seemingly flying in the air, carried by the fast and ferocious winds.

If Zephyr didn't have the endurance and physical abilities he had, he would have already fallen down and despite his monstrous strength would have smashed down to the ground and died without any alternative.

With another moment passing, he leaped yet another several meters up into the cliff. This was indeed a good training. He could feel his body brimming with newly founded Qi and power at every moment.
