5 Eavesdropping

"The Army requires you to send the next batch Belinda." Instructor Tai spoke out towards Belinda, who sighed and sat down on her chair with a hint of sadness.

"I wanted them to feel what a family is like a bit more before they were sent into that hell of a place." She stated out, her eyes looking downwards.

"Tai… Do we truly have to always do this?! Send kids to the army? Indeed fourteen to fifteen is not that young, but they have yet to know the meaning of death and life!" Belinda said, trying to persuade Instructor Tai to postpone the movement.

Said person shook his head.

"It is not up to us Belinda. The Barbarians in the south keep moving more and more. The unrest among the nobles in the capital is growing. The king does not have many choices, the nobles fund the country in a high percentage, without them our kingdom would just perish."

'Barbarians…'

Belinda increased her grip on her hand and a seed of anger and hatred sprouted out. For decades and even centuries barbarians had been a major concern for the kingdom.

The Barbarian King of this generation was even more aggressive and violent in terms of approach of the issue between the two factions compared to other times.

The most noticeable difference was the Massacre of Valia. Over ten thousand people were killed in an instant by the Barbarians.

That included men, women, children and even the old. The Barbarians knew no limits to what kind of evil deeds they could commit. The closest to them would probably be the Nobles of the Capital.

"Baron Ornald told me that his superiors have grown furthermore in unrest. The King's enemy faction keeps absorbing the deflectors without any limit."

"If nothing changes… Then the Kingdom will fall to the Barbarians at any time now." Instructor Tai spoke about the fall of the kingdom without any concern. Belinda, however, expressed far more concern about this issue.

Instructor Li dashed into the room, slamming the door open and panting heavily. "We have a problem!"

Zephyr reached the top of the cliff, he was standing just below the tip of it, with a single jump he could very well just sit on it. Instead he used Qi to stick to the rocky foundation of the cliff and stared into the entire town.

From a distance, he could easily say that it was a decently beautiful sight. The mountains enchanted the sight of the town to an entirely new level.

"The Mana I gave you is more than enough to burn this town to ashes, Larron." The voice of a man sounded off, attracting the little boy's attention.

"You don't understand, the monster of the Seventh Division Tai Balku is here, the one who exterminated the entire Wulu Tribe of the Barbarians alone. The Wulu Tribe had over twenty-five thousand members at the time, not even five thousand of them escaped certain death."

"Yeah, yeah. Stop with your excuses you dumbass!" The two people engaged in a fight of words with each other.

"There is also Li Xiao from the Dao Branch of the Army. He was part of the Seventh Division as well. I heard he was sent here as a punishment for 'bad behavior'. He once killed a hundred of the rare Magical Beast Tamers who are part of the Barbarian Tribes. They haven't recovered even to today."

Li Xiao and Tai Balku. Weren't they the Instructors who 'taught' Zephyr back at the Orphanage?

Knowing how much of a big deal Tai was, Zephyr couldn't help but be slightly more proud of his achievement of landing a clear hit on him. The average Barbarian Tribe after all, had more than fifty thousand members.

"So what? I have personally fought Li Xiao before, so I do not dare to show my face right now, but with the Mana I gave you, you should be able to blow this town to smithereens.

"Stop revealing such deep information, what if someone is spying on us somehow?!"

The one who first commented on how scary and troublesome it would be to fight the two, spoke out with his voice containing wary.

"Don't worry, my Mana Barrier is still up and running. Unless Tai himself manages to find info about us two, no one else in this town is capable of spying on us. Even Li Xiao is merely on my level."

Mana Barrier.

That was a low-grade Spell, most Mana-users could easily create a Mana Barrier. Although it was very common, the use of it couldn't be denied.

However, although it could detect most presences inside the barrier and that number could rise to even a higher chance when one infiltrated it; Zephyr had his own ways. Ways he had gained from a million years of experience.

Obviously the creator of this Mana Barrier was also being a bit careless, otherwise with his enormous reserves of Mana, he should have easily been capable of detecting Zephyr's presence even if he was trying his best to hide.

Zephyr had an abnormal amount of Qi for his age, despite that a grown adult with experience in using Mana Barrier, no matter what should be able to detect him.

The only reason HE had not, which was connected to Zephyr was because he was coating his body in Qi and using an ancient method to hide his presence.

This was done in a way which did not create a void in his position, but just erased his body as if it had never been there before.

'The Invisibility Technique' was a name it was given to it by many. Although many also used alternative names, in most books back in the Gaia Universe, the first name was used however.

Zephyr's attention was brought back into the two men's discussion.

"I will not tolerate any other failure. I want you to destroy this town before the end of the week. I gave you the men, the power and the MANA required to activate the Grade 4 Spell with a wide-range of destruction. If you fail… I'm sure I don't have to spell it out to you do I?"

"Rest assured sir. I will also do my best to cover our tracks and blame it all on the Barbarians just like you have told me several times."

"Stop being so dramatic boy, do not misunderstand my kindness for forgiveness. I can and will kill you if you do not stop pretending to be a kid."
