14 Battle Continues!

"YOU THINK I FUCKING NEED YOUR COMPLIMENTS?!" Meres jumped at near supersonic speed and smashed the entire tavern to smithereens.

"Arlo?!" Obviously Arlo and his 'acquantiance' both made an appearance since there was no place to hide in…

*BOOOOOM*

The Dragon Fist caused an enormous flame to cover the surrounding buildings. A crater the size of five similar-sized buildings was created.

"Superb!"

The shadow grinned out loudly, the darkness emitted from it spreading around.

Vanos coughed a bit, due to his 'old age' and awkwardness before looking at the others. Arlo who was next to him revealed a pair of annoyed eyes. The so 'dear' reunion between him and his self-proclaimed master was ruined.

"Which young one is trying to mess up my last years of living!"

He grimaced a bit before waving his hand,"This old man is going to leave for now, Arlo I suppose you can deal with this on your own. You know where to meet me…"

"Wait!" Arlo panicked and extended his arm forward but Vanos's body had already vanished ,Sion and Meres were astonished.

'That's a Greater Teleportation Spell, Rank 5 at the very least!'

Zephyr just feigned being surprised as well. Using Qi he could do the same, albeit his cultivation realm was still a bit too weak for him to achieve the exact same effects.

"Well at least I got rid of the most troublesome of all present here." The shadow grinned, a pair of red eyes revealing itself to the world.

'I'll just stay in the side-lines and let the others do the scouting and revealing of his abilities for me.' Zephyr jumped backwards, he did not think the shadow would care about a tiny brat anyway.

...Or so he thought.

The second he retreated, a thin but extremely fast thread of darkness shot towards him, he barely dodged it. A drop of sweat rolled down his forehead straight to his chin.

"Now, boy do not underestimate me. I know what you are thinking. You really were thinking I'd let a deviant like you continue surviving?"

'What does he mean by deviant…' Zephyr though for a split of a second before Arlo appeared next to him. "Be careful brat, thankfully I've met Sion and Meres before so we can have a type of chemistry. Defeating him won't be easy."

"A special organism like you does not belong here. Unranked Creature, you need to disperse!" Sion muttered, a silver bow appearing in his hands.

"I'll be first then." Sion said with a soothing tone, a similarly silver arrow materializing in the silver bow, ready to shot at the shadow special lifeform.

With a single movement of the tip of his finger, the arrow burst into several smaller arrows with a similar strength. They striked different parts of the darkness and achieved various results.

"This bastard dodged my arrows by dispersing the darkness around the arrows… Unfortunately for him the arrows do not just pierce the target." Sion's lips widened in the corners."... They explode!"

His words were soon followed by several explosions which caused an earthquake of a small tier.

"Interesting… But do not think you can manage to heavily injure me with just some weak explosions!" It was apparent that the special lifeform was not taking this serious as he was still in the mood for laughing.

Sion frowned slightly, but did not feel like expressing his dismay and concern to this issue to his enemy. Instead he focused his Mana and spread his thoughts to the rest.

Just at this moment, the shadow released a screech. "Impossible, how was I injured without myself noticing it until it was too late?!" It thought in a loud tone.

'Zeph?!' Arlo finally noticed that Zephyr had went missing for the split of a second he had set his eyes away from the kid.

Zephyr had used the moment to his advantage. The special lifeform detested deviants like him, but even he had been caught off-guard by him.

For this short moment, Zephyr had activated the Root of Darkness and used it to deal a heavy blow to the special lifeform. While it used Darkness, this darkness and the one from the Root of Darkness were from two different sources altogether.

"Unfortunately for you… I am already proficient in the Regeneration Spell HEHE!"

The special lifeform effortlessly rebuilt its body back to its original shape. Zephyr knitted his eyebrows before jumping down to his original position.

Arlo widened his eyes and shouted,"Be careful, he's going to attack us all at the same time!"

"A bit too late I'd say!" The special lifeform's body extended in several parts, taking the shape of spikes. The spikes separated from the main body and flew at each person at extraordinary speeds.

'I see, so Arlo's Mana Manipulation allows him to be a sort of sensor, he can detect any Mana used at a certain distance.' Zephyr did not feel bothered by all of this, still having time to think about Arlo's movements.

He 'barely' dodged the spike by the length of a hair, but unexpectedly the spike took a sharp turn and immediately flew towards him once again. His eyes shone with a hint of understanding.

His sword was reinforced by him channeling Qi into it, and he slammed it straight at the spike, completely destroying it.

'That deviant boy… He's so dangerous. Despite his strength being nowhere the other deviants in my memories, he is the most terrifying one in terms of potential!'

The special lifeform had existed for a quite amount of time since it was able to talk, the only reason it had gone out from the lair it lived in was that it sensed an enormous amount of mana it could absorb.

Now that he was here, he knew what exactly was this feeling he had experienced earlier. Zephyr's deviant status!

"DIE!" The special lifeform roared as it sent several more spikes at Zephyr, he clearly was focusing more on him than the others.

"Rank 2 Spell - Beast's Roar!" Zephyr muttered as a gust of wind went past his body, blocking all the spikes.

'Do it now!'

Zephyr transmitted a message to the rest, who immediately acted. Arlo was the first one of the bunch, his sharp movements using Mana Manipulation gave him extreme speeds.

He was several times the speed of sound and was climbing even higher. At one point Zephyr really wondered why he was so scared of Tai Balku, using his Mana Manipulation it would be an extremely even and close fight.

Sion and Meres followed almost immediately, the former releasing several arrows and the later going forward for a weapon fight.

"Rank 3 Spell - Dragon's Claw!" Meres seemed to have mastered many close-combat spells, and it showed. Apparently, he was a so-called Body mage, someone who focused on reinforcing the outside of his body.

The special lifeform hardly used any effort to dodge their attacks to the point it looked as if it was a master sparing with his disciple.

Just at that moment, the special lifeform basically jumped at a flying arrow which was coated in a silver liquid, adapting to the materials of the arrow extremely well. It was a poison which acted extremely quickly.

This poison was not the normal type, it would slowly deteriorate the physical state of the special lifeform and finally killing it. Sion had a limited amount of this poison, so he usually was careful of when he used it.

However, this time he was making an exception. This was a far too dangerous situation to hold back. If it was going to require his rare poison to kill the special lifeform, so be it.

This together with Arlo's Mana Manipulation caused enormous clouds of smoke and dust to engulf the area.

"This was close…"
