35 Chapter35-Smith? Dare to Come, Prepare to Die!

When Jason woke up the next morning, he felt refreshed but was surprised to find the two female heroes who had recently joined his ranks looking at him strangely, even avoiding his gaze.

Their eyes met briefly, causing scholars Loreta and the knight Tiffany to blush and turn their heads away.

Carolina just stood by, watching with a smile.

However, Jason didn't dwell on it. As long as it didn't affect the subsequent development and licking of the map, it didn't matter if his heroes had their own thoughts.

Jason noticed the strange atmosphere within the team, which persisted until after breakfast. Unconcerned with these minor details, he led his three heroes out of the city to start grinding.

This time, his target was the [Wasteland] on the eastern side of the Losfall region.

The map was quite vast, with resources scattered about, a place Jason would have considered a waste of time before.

But now, with three heroes under his command, they could split into four groups, significantly increasing their efficiency.

Jason planned the unit distribution: Tiffany, with her enhanced knight abilities, took charge of the Death Knight; Loreta, as a scholar inclined towards controlling magic units, was given the Frost Lich and some frontline tanks.

The dragon girl naturally paired with the Dragonsepulcher Sentinel and a combination of bone dragon knights.

Jason himself took the remaining forces to clear the higher-difficulty resource points on the map.

The exploration went smoothly; the [Wasteland], being of medium to high difficulty in the newbie area, saw Jason's forces sweep through like locusts—

They cleared all kinds of resource points, and not even the wild bosses could escape their grasp, turning into bronze, iron-level equipment, and basic resource packs...

Besides, Jason also cleared several bronze-tier and iron-level dungeons, acquiring a good haul of equipment and materials, along with basic resource packs, Divine Waters, Revelation Scrolls...

Moreover, Jason discovered quite a few unit training buildings, marking their coordinates on the map to have Loreta train them later.

It's worth mentioning that after some planning, Jason decided he wouldn't keep any units trained below 4-tier.

After all, in large-scale grinding, the Underworld Baptism would only upgrade some 1-tier units to 2-tier, 3-tier...

In a few days, once the [Resurgent Legion] event ends, players should have an even richer pool of resources.

By then, Jason plans to list all soldiers below 4-tier in the auction house.

He intends not to participate in phase 1 of [Resurgent Legion], thus missing out on some rare materials. He'll let other players who do participate cough them up, essentially working for him!

Of course, selling off soldiers doesn't mean he plans to slow down on troop production.

At this stage, the battlefield is already filled with 4-tier and 5-tier fodder during Jason's fights; there's simply no room for 3-tier soldiers to make an appearance.

He figures it would be more efficient to convert these soldiers into money and various materials, continually bolstering his army with troops above 4-tier.

Moreover, Jason knows that at this point in time, there's a huge demand for 3-tier units from other players who might even go crazy seeing them for sale!

And thanks to Loreta's passive ability, the 3-tier units produced by Jason are of noticeably higher strength...

This is a business that could keep going.

...

In the following days, Jason was diligently busy.

His routine was simple: sleep at the inn, play friendly matches with Carolina, wake up the next day to see what materials he had received in the auction house, pack them all up, and then split his forces to grind the map—

Seizing all resources!

Thus—

On the fourth and fifth days after the server opened, Jason's army completely explored the [Wasteland], harvesting basic resources, achieving forty thousand points in each category, training 500 units below 4-tier, and 370 units of 4-tier.

On the sixth day, Jason moved to a new map, [Death Grave], which was significantly richer in resources than the Wasteland and smaller, allowing him to clear it in a single day.

Jason harvested around fifty thousand points in each category of basic resources, acquired 1300 units below 4-tier, and 650 units above 4-tier.

On the seventh day after the server opened, Jason set out for the Greenmeadow Forest.

By the eighth day, having cleared the last remnants of the Greenmeadow Forest, he amassed a total of sixty thousand points in each basic resource category, 1500 units below 4-tier, and 800 units above 4-tier over the two days.

He casually reviewed his gains: the soldiers below 4-tier didn't catch his interest.

The soldiers above 4-tier, since they were all conversions from basic units, mainly fell into three categories.

First were the Ghouls,

Second, the Skeleton Magus.

Third, a new unit [Shadow Assassin], agility-based, suitable for scouting or assassination roles, with two skills:

[Shadow Step] - Temporary invisibility and extra damage upon emerging.

[Backstab] - A passive skill that grants extra damage when attacking from behind.

At this time, Jason recalled his units and tore open the last town portal scroll,

For, this morning, Jason had already heard the system notification.

[The event [Resurgent Legion] has entered its 2-tier phase, special unit buildings have been generated.]

[Coordinate one: 214.333.652.]

[Coordinate two…]

[Coordinate three…]

[All players, please note, only three days remain for this event.]

After returning to town, Jason immediately mounted Carolina, transformed into a dragon, and flew towards the nearest coordinate.

...

Meanwhile, outside the city of Losfall, the area around the first special unit building was swarming with players and their armies.

Atop a vantage point, a middle-aged man clad in dark heavy armor smiled with satisfaction.

"Indeed, the family think tank's analysis was spot on," he mused.

"In a high-difficulty newbie city like Losfall, the event rewards are better, even offering training buildings for 5-tier units!"

Beside him, congratulations were in order.

"Mr. Duncan Flores, congratulations on moving the entire family's forces to Losfall, though it must have cost a pretty penny," said Aelica, Jason's acquaintance and a government representative.

"Thank you, thank you," Duncan responded graciously.

"Though the regular players have all been cleared out, the officials can still send a few representatives to train some 5-tier units," Duncan said, his face brightening with a pleasant demeanor.

Aelica knew that in the morning, when the unit buildings refreshed, because this was the event building closest to Losfall, the Flores family's forces had slaughtered any player who approached.

Even a somewhat famous expert was made an example of; they killed him until he dropped to level zero, breaking his defense and forcing him to quit the game.

They were extremely brutal and mad!

Yet, Aelica couldn't help but raise a concern.

"What if Smith also wants to use these unit buildings?"

At her words, the surrounding Flores family heads, previously unassailable in their confidence, suddenly faltered.

That was the god-tier player leading the server, a name and shadow far from ordinary players and not so easily dealt with.

However, Duncan Flores's gaze turned cold.

"This event is an opportunity," he stated.

"Smith's arrogant days are numbered."

"After all, strong as Smith is, even having three heroes..."

"But at the current low levels, a player can only lead up to a hundred 1-tier units, considering level and equipment bonuses for the Command Limit."

"No matter how powerful Smith is, he can only bring at most a thousand soldiers."

"Even if he's a bit more capable, clearing bronze-tier dungeons, and all his thousand soldiers are 3-tier, so what?"

"We've gathered family members and allied guild players, more than three thousand in total, making up a force of three hundred thousand. We can simply overwhelm him!"

The leader of the Flores family's eyes gleamed with fanaticism as he spoke.

They were not afraid of Smith coming to take over; they feared he wouldn't come at all!

Once he arrives, it would mean our family has slain the top player in the server! Our fame would skyrocket!

This event, with Losfall's three special buildings, has been seized by the top three families in America.

Aside from the official government, no one else could possibly be allocated slots to train soldiers.

They had also conspired together, knowing Smith wouldn't pass up this opportunity to enhance his strength, to use this chance to take down the top player in the server!

Firstly, to elevate the family's fame.

Secondly, the significance of Divine Age is undeniable.

Smith has developed too well!

How could these major families rest easy with him alive?

Duncan Flores looked out over the vast army and snorted coldly.

"As long as Smith arrives, kill him once, deplete his forces..."

"Then we can camp his corpse, effectively ruining this so-called expert!"
