27 Chapter 4

After Saranie woke up, Hiberacy removed her bindings from last night. They left them on her to be on the safe side. To which she wasn't totally opposed, but she practically sprinted to the bathroom. Hiberacy helped her there. Doctor Wraimes came in, Saranie knew this, but she really wanted to do her daily exercises. He said it was okay as long as she paid attention. So she did push ups and sit ups during that time.

"How are you feeling today?"

"Tired." It was the reason she felt she needed to do her exercises. It made her feel weak and it was something she could do to avoid that. "I know that wasn't what you meant, but I'm fine. Yesterday was eventful and eye opening, you could say. Something I do want to do today is see this 'show' with magic that Hiberacy mentioned." She sent her eyes in that woman's direction to gesture towards her.

"It's good you are open about how you feel. As you said, yesterday was eventful. I would like to talk to you more about your life though. Would you be willing to share?"

That got Saranie to pause. Stop her push up at that moment, thinking. "You want to know everything?"

"Yes I would, but in time. There is no need for you to share everything all at once if you don't want to. This is your choice to make and I won't force you to."

Saranie flipped on her back, already worn out. Jahvee was really weak. "Fine. In my world I lived in the Vellheart Kingdom." The cold hard tiles remind her of a lot of things, but clean was something she couldn't think about with them on her back as she did sit ups. "I grew up in an orphanage as I already stated. Back then when I was five years old this little girl died. Yunara was her name. I never really knew her. She asked me to read her a story, but at that time I brushed her off. I was a kid and reading was not something I wanted to do, you know?" Even though Wraimes was writing down on paper, he nodded gesturing for her to continue. "It was sudden. The caretakers said she had a disease and there was nothing they could do. But it hit me hard, really hard. I wanted to make that girl happy. Even if she was gone I could better myself to make others like her happy then. So I studied in the classes at the orphanage. Learning to read, counting, how to grow crops… the essentials."

Saranie took that time to stand up. Doing the same stretches she had done after a small run in place.

"You got an education?"

"I was a nobody and the resources we had there were minimum. Basically enough to be self sufficient at our home. Later in life I met a man, Tripharem. He was a blacksmith and we had been in an unsavory situation together. He found me and spotted my talent early on. Two years as an apprentice and two more as a full fledged blacksmith, working on my own orders. The first dagger I created helped me throughout my life."

"How old were you?"

"As an orphan getting an apprenticeship like that was just lucky. All because of one death that we met. I was ten years old at that time and I spent four years doing hard work. Making things with my hands… I really liked that. I still do." Saranie pointed towards the picture on the shelf she drew."

"May I?" Saranie nodded to his question and he walked over to look at it. "This is your home then?"

"I'm surprised you could see that. Didn't think I was good enough that you could tell."

"It's the flowers by the building. The garden then? The one that keeps you calm?"

"Yes."

Once more Saranie ran in place. Keeping her breathing to a rhythm.

"Fourteen years old and had a job. That's amazing."

"It didn't last. Nothing ever does. We received an order from the lord. Weapons. A lot of weapons. It wasn't long after that the war started. All kingdoms are going to war with each other. Children ten and up drafted. Friends came with me while the little ones stayed behind." Saranie couldn't keep talking at this point. Her breathing was shallow from the pain that was coming up and her exercise. "They trained us. Taught us magical warfare, trained us with weapons and hand to hand combat, how to keep a wound stable for healers to arrive. It was drilled into us and we became the weapons. Fighting meaningless battles for six whole years. The whole reason it was meaningless was because The Cult of The Void. An old horror story you tell to younger kids so they listen to you. They were behind everything. Manipulated and controlled everyone. Creating death all across the world just so they could open their portal. Bring in their Gods to destroy everything. I killed them. I stopped anyone or anything from coming through the portal. I know I did. Then I ended up here. In this body. Like my own, but I had blue eyes, not brown. It's weird you know." Talking about the cultists was more of an exercise than she would have guessed. Took a lot out of her.

"Then this must be really confusing for you. Knowing that you can feel in that body, that it moves because you say so, but it isn't you. Not really. It feels wrong and you want it to change."

"More or less."

"It's a good start at least. Thank you for telling me. Sharing that must have been hard for you. I think it would be good for you to relax and watching that show that you mentioned before might be a good idea. You will still have to take the medication that makes you tired and calms you down. Once you feel tired, let Hiberacy or another nurse know so you can lay down in bed here."

---

After Saranie took a shower, she was brought back into the main living area. Showers were nothing new to her, even the one she took the other day. Though that place was big and weird to her.

Hiberacy told her that everyone would know her as Jahvee. That she should correct them to use her own name now and be respectful if others find that difficult. Though she would be with Saranie for most of the time.

Compared to the isolated area where Saranie was, this place was a breath of fresh air. Sound and lots of it. She noticed it the other day, but now she was going to be in here. This place and not just getting a tour. If she was still awake, she might even have lunch here.

"What are they doing?"

"Arts and crafts. Drawing mostly."

"Should I join them?" She really wanted to see that show.

"Do you want to?"

"Not really."

Sitting down, Saranie moved a little in the chair. To get used to it and look around the room. Each chair had been made of wood, their whole frame. The cushion was much squishier than the bed she had been laying in. Compared to the battlefield it was divine.

The tv, made of plastic, was in a box of plastic itself. At least she didn't assume it was glass as it would be easy to break. She really didn't know if everything was made of plastic in this world. At least the metal on the bed was expertly crafted. That was something she quickly noticed. It was smooth and precise.

Using the 'remote', Hiberacy turned on the tv. Switching 'channels'. Saranie thought she was talking about rivers. To which the nurse helping her laughed and explained. "Each channel has a different show. Some more adult shows with violence and other kid-like shows with… well magic." Saranie wanted to laugh at that, but Hiberacy was telling the truth. She explained it in a way that wasn't demeaning, just not what she was expecting.

Once the show came on, Saranie quickly got caught up in it. Hiberacy said that it was in the middle of the 'episode' so things might not make sense. She would just need to give it time.

How would she describe it then? Animal looking characters, color coded so they were unique. They had clothing that didn't make much sense to Saranie, but it didn't matter. This big red… demon guy? "Hahaha." Saranie couldn't help but laugh. She understood why it was meant for kids. Three colored characters, girls she thought, one blue, green, and pink. Each flying and shooting mana from their hands in their own colors at the demon. The demon had a sword and actually hit a building instead of the girls. To which, while Saranie was sure, she needed to ask. "This isn't real right?"

"No, just a cartoon for kids. What do you think of it so far?"

"I have to admit that 'demon' is closer to what I imagined as a child. Although not as red."

"What about the magic?"

"Honestly, not even close. Using mana you need to weave it in your hands. There needs some movement. Even if you got it in a spell, there is no need to yell out your attack with training. Seeing the mana isn't necessary. A simple mana can be invisible. Also those girls had ample opportunity to take him down. I'm guessing they weren't trained?"

"Uh, no."

"Focusing their attacks, they could have made it more pinpoint. Letting the force of the mana drive a hole through the demon's skull. Given a distraction, that would have been easy. If not, removing a limb or two wouldn't be too hard given the size of it. Incapacitate and then decapitate. Never turn your back on an enemy."

"Well they wouldn't show that to children. That is… too violent." Hiberacy's face was strained.

'Yes, they have a problem with violence here.' Saranie shook her head. "Sorry about that. Habit." She was there when Saranie told Doctor Wraimes about her life. "Can I ask you something? You don't have to answer if it's uncomfortable."

"Ask away."

"Do you have wars here? I know you don't have magic, but do you people fight at all? Hurting yourself and others… I keep hearing about how seriously you treat stuff like that. Does fighting only exist in your stories or 'shows'?"

"Oh well… War is a thing. There have been many in our past. There are even wars being fought right now as we speak. I know a friend who joined the military actually."

"Of his own will?"

"Yes, that is something he desired to do with his life. I got a call from him just recently that his husband and he have moved to another city."

"Oh, then why is it such a problem here?"

"This is a hospital. A place of healing. Not everyone is used to violence, myself included, but I know enough to keep myself safe and those I work with. Your self included."

"I understand. While I would love to spar with you, I know that is a big no here."

---

Saranie enjoyed the rest of the show and the others that came after it. Hiberacy changed 'channels' to give Saranie an idea to this world's culture. Even the news popped on showing local and world wide news. To which Saranie very much wanted to see.

A murder occurred near here. The man was found, and judged. He was guilty and 'video' showed how little he cared for other people.

"He deserved to die! No one steals my food!" The mad man screamed.

"He killed someone for taking his ration? I could understand it if the city was in flames and he needed it to survive. It would be inevitable for there not to be madness going around. This kind of world though. The stability, lack of fear… no war… He should be killed, not put in prison. That man has no idea how precious peace really is."

---

"So what do I have to do?" Saranie was in her bed again. Dinner would be coming up shortly. Doctor Wraimes had arrived before he left for the day to tell Saranie that the day after tomorrow there would be a hearing of sorts.

Erythann had lawyers and was concerned for Jahvee's safety. That this hospital wasn't providing the help she needed to get better. Because Jahvee harmed herself, Saranie being present and her last conversation with the brother, that his was inevitable.

Wraimes was clear that Erythann had the right to do what he was doing. He wasn't completely wrong, but because of his misunderstanding with Saranie's words things had moved to a point where things were getting heated.

"Be yourself and tell the truth. No matter what, just tell the truth."

Tomorrow a lawyer sent by Erythann would arrive, another doctor like Wraimes and himself would be there. Jahvee's brother would be there the next day in a hearing. Because of these events and the seriousness of it, it has been pushed up and is going to be happening really fast.

"Well I won't lie, I'm nervous. I don't want there to be any misunderstandings again."

"In all likelihood, you will be moved to another place. That is something you should be prepared for. That isn't because of you, but our fault for letting Jahvee hurt herself while in our care."

---

Dinner was quiet. Hiberacy had stayed later for her, but eventually left. She didn't want to talk to anyone else tonight. Those pills did make her tired, but she was awake right now. Her mind was working overtime for her to give her clarity.

Saranie looked into herself again. Mana was gone, no more. Still the same. Lifeforce had regenerated, thankfully, but it was still nothing. She would need more blood to even cast a spell. So there was no way she could get away with a prick of the finger and showing them all magic to believe her. But she had been right that if her life was in danger she could heal a wound that would leave her at death's door or someone else. Enough to close the wound, but the body would need to do the rest. It was a guess, however with her training and use of it before it was as close as she would get.

Next she looked around for Jahvee. That was something Saranie had no clue how to do. She was never taught soul magic, so there was nothing to go off of. Maybe she needed to think differently. Think like Jahvee?

Jahvee was kind. Helped others before herself. Kind of like Saranie to a point. Jahvee on the other hand took what others said about her and cursed it. Letting it bore into her mind and corrupt her. That was what she got from Erythann. Then Doctor Wraimes mentioned that he thought everything was fine with Jahvee, that she was making progress. So she internalized everything. Put on a mask to fool everyone how she really felt. Saranie felt trapped here, so it was easy to conclude that Jahvee felt similar. Maybe even more considering how terrible she felt. Not just this building or room, but her body. Death would be her escape. To something happier.

'What if that was it? Jahvee wasn't dead or anything, they swapped bodies.'

Saranie's past wasn't a happy one, but if the woman who helped others before herself was put in a position where magic was real, and considering that show earlier, then she might even find it fun. Hiberacy said she wished magic was real to let her deal with the cold. When she was a child, Saranie was mystified by magic and what it could do. Wouldn't someone who lived without it their whole life want it? More than anything?

It wouldn't be easy to live as Saranie. Not at all, but Jahvee could do it if she could get over her past. To not take those words others say as proof of how terrible she is. To take a world that had been ravaged by war and build something of her own there. Tough yes, but possible. For Saranie she would have gone home, but Jahvee would be able to help everyone. Possibly a great life.

This is what Saranie chose to believe.

---

"Saranie, this is Daranse your lawyer." Wraimes gestured to a tall woman in a suit if she could call it that. Fine quality as everything is. Blue aesthetic with the skirt matching the light jacket. A white shirt underneath to bring out the attire. Her high heels made Saranie nervous for her. Short black hair down to her neck. Pretty even with the makeup. "This here-"

"Doctor Rufghlei. I'm here to get a second opinion as requested by Erythann." She was a shorter woman. About the height of Saranie sitting on the bed, but a smidge taller. All her red hair was brushed over to the left, leaving the right side shaved. Her red glasses stood out amongst everything else if Saranie was being honest. Blue eyes, hidden right behind the distraction. She was wearing a white coat with attire closer to what Erythann wore the first time she met him. Her pants were simple black slacks. Considering the other doctor, it must be required. Her shoes were closer to what Hiberacy was wearing. 'Sneakers' with 'Velcro' to keep them tight.

Saranie was aware that Daranse and Rufghlei were on her side, they were following orders by Erythann who wasn't a big fan of Saranie. That might not be necessarily true, but it felt that way.

Also two nurses were in the room, with Saranie laid back on her bed, Hiberacy being one of them. For two reasons. If things were to go bad, they would keep the peace. The other being that if Saranie needed anything, they could get it for her without bothering the rest.

Also because of how serious this whole thing was, Saranie felt that she was being tried for a crime she didn't commit. Or maybe she had when she closed the portal.

"I'm Saranie." Bowing while sitting up strained her back, so she quickly stopped that. Her eyes fell on Doctor Wraimes who was looking at the other two. Nothing serious, but he wanted them to take note of her. She was aware that 'alters' were rare in this world. So that it might take them time to understand. So what should she do? 'When in doubt tell the truth.' Pulling the blanket up to cover herself a little more, Saranie spoke. "Doctor Wraimes explained it a little, but what do you want to know?" She was nervous.

Just before Rufghlei could speak, Daranse spoke. "As Erythann is responsible for you, we were sent here to clear up the facts. Doctor Wraimes has already informed us about your situation Saranie. We want to make this as quick and easy as we can for you. Just answer our questions honestly as possible and we will be out of here."

"Okay."

The moment Saranie said that, Rufghlei stepped in, so to speak. "Saranie, you told Doctor Wraimes about your life already. I have his notes here. Would you be willing to tell it again?"

"Sure…"

---

Saranie went over the information again. She may have spent extra time talking about her time with Tripharem more, before she got to the war. Which she quickly sped through.

"Six years, that's a long time. That would make you twenty?"

"Yes."

"Are you aware that Jahvee is twenty-seven?"

"I am now." She had no idea. That is different. "Kind of feels like I lost seven years of my life in one second."

"Your life?"

"I'm in her body. It's mine now. I doubt she will ever come back."

"Why do you doubt that?"

"I did some thinking last night. If I'm here, then where is she? Dead, maybe. Asleep, well I disagree with that. I know little of soul magic, but anything is possible. So what if we switched places. I would have left my body barely alive and she would have had to work hard to heal herself. All without knowing magic too. It would have been terrible for her, but I choose to believe that she is alive and safe. Finding her own place there."

Everyone was taking some kind of notes with her there. It was about lunch time and she was getting tired, but she could keep going for a while longer. This kind of situation really made her alert.

"Let's move back a little here. You were trained as a soldier. So you have the training to fight?"

"I do."

"Do you miss it?"

"What?"

"Do you miss fighting? Wish you could hit something or someone again? Hurt or kill?" Saranie couldn't tell, but Rufghlei had a tone that she wasn't sure of.

"In a life or death situation, yes. Otherwise I have no interest in fighting. I have done enough of that."

Saranie could see the woman walking closer. Daranse was calm, but Doctor Wraimes was looking worried. A test?

"Do you feel uncomfortable if I get close like this?" Her head was right at the edge of the best an arms length away. Saranie looked towards Hiberacy. "Don't look away!" At her shout, everyone else jumped. Saranie kept herself calm. Nervousness replaced with calm.

It was something she had to learn early in her training. Otherwise a single tree branch falling in the woods could set anyone of them off. Friendly fire was terrible when your ally was a fire mage. Someone who specialized in one thing. Those were the truly scary people.

Wraimes had made an objection to Daranse. He was ignored and so Rufghlei continued. "I apologize for the way I acted Saranie. I've worked with soldiers before. There were some like you who could hold themselves back and others…"

"I get it. Control is necessary."

"True. Very True. Your brother- I mean Jahvee's brother, mentioned that when he saw you, Saranie, you said you would kill yourself."

"In a sense yes that is what I meant. I promised him that I would do anything to get his sister back to him, I would. My soul doesn't belong to this body. It could wither away without the original soul. I don't know. I know very little about how this happened in the first place. So if I had to destroy my own soul to give his sister back, I would."

Rufghlei smiled and moved closer to her. "You said that the portal, created by these cultists you hate so much, was your reason for being here, correct?" Saranie nodded. "They waged war across the world. They killed so many people to open that portal. Right?" Saranie hesitated a moment for her next nod. "And you would do anything? Would you kill that many people to open the portal if you believed it would help get his sister back?"

"That…" Would she be like those cultists? "No, I would never be like them."

"Them, the cultists?"

"Yes!"

"Yes, you would?"

"You know what I meant!" Before Rufghlei could push her again. "I would never harm anyone like them. No one deserves that. I said I would do anything, I mean that. As long as it is right."

"What do you deem to be 'right'?"

"Every being deserves life at the start, they throw that right away when they hurt another person." Saranie looked around the room, letting her eyes stay on Hiberacy a moment longer. "Where I'm from the guard is in charge of the town. You would be arrested, chained if necessary, then judged. Guilty, depending on their crime, death or prison. Others might be sent to work off a debt. I don't know what you have here, but from what I gather violence is a big no. So you just exile criminals?" Saranie knew the answer, but she was curious what Doctor Rufghlei would say.

"No, it would be prison. Rarely is someone killed unless it is a heinous crime. So if you are someone on the street. This person killed another and you saw it all, what would you do?"

"Would I have my weapons with me?"

"That dagger you mentioned? Sure!"

"Since you don't have magic here and I don't see a bow, I can move against them. I would rush, fast. Break a limb so the pain distracts them enough for me to knock them out. Without magic, making sure they stay alive would be difficult, but it wouldn't be too long before the guards arrive in this big of a city. If anything I could drag the criminal to the guard."

"You didn't mention your dagger. You wouldn't use it as a weapon?"

"If I had to, yes I would. If I didn't have it, I would just look for something I could use in case the enemy is competent."

"Not a criminal, but an enemy."

"Habit."

"What if the enemy had a gun?"

"What's a gun?"

There was a brief pause. Rufghlei pulled out her smartphone. There were tapping noises and she put the video in front of Saranie.

A man was holding a 'rifle', different word, but he had sun glasses on. There was a target an archer would use far away from the man. The video showed the man holding the 'rifle' on his shoulder. Saranie could see the whole weapon and the man. The loud noise caught her off guard there a moment, before she watched it closely. Studying the weapon and imagining how it worked. As a blacksmith, Saranie knew how pieces worked together. Nothing this intricate and complex. The man pulled out a 'magazine' as the voice said in the video, showed the 'bullets' inside and put it in the gun and shot more.

"Is that brass?"

"I believe so." Doctor Rufghlei was showing her curious face. Big mischievous smile.

The 'rifle' was powerful. Saranie could even see that it had weight like a sword would have. It was made out of metal for sure, but it didn't look like anything she had seen. Maybe a mix of that plastic and metal. They used a lot of it here in this world.

"Well if someone had this…" It destroyed the target. They said it was a thirty round clip. With something like that and without mana. "I don't know. With mana, I can move a spell, changing the trajectory. Using all my lifeforce I could, I closed a portal to something else. Without testing something like that I don't know. It's possible with mana as a powerful mana dart could do that, but I have none here. The best I could think of is forcing them into close range where I would have the advantage. Is that all it can do?"

"Yes. You mentioned your lifeforce earlier when you talked about the portal, correct? Would you expand on that?"

"Lifeforce is simply your blood. I have some left over, thankfully. I could save my life or someone else with it, but it would leave me on the verge of death myself with how little I have left. That's if I even have as much as I think."

"How would you use your lifeforce?"

"Depends. A mana dart I would just make a cut on my hand, weave the blood, letting it change into the desired spell and fire it off. Unlike mana, lifeforce is stronger, but you have to weaken yourself."

"So then how did you close that portal?"

"I cut my wrists. Fastest and quickest way for me. I was already bleeding from the injuries I sustained before. I combined the blood from there too to get what I needed. I was out of mana, so lifeforce was all that was left. Using the raw energy, I compressed the portal on all sides at once. I did everything I could to close that portal and I did it."

It was subtle, but Saranie noticed the shoulder top Rufghlei did to Daranse.

"I think it is time we took a break. I'm sure Saranie is tired. Well reconvene once more after lunch if Saranie is till up to it, otherwise that will be it." Daranse said, standing up.

---

Hiberacy brought in lunch.

"You know what they are talking about?" Saranie didn't expect an answer.

"Even if I knew, I couldn't tell you."

"I understand."

There Saranie at her lunch. Two chocolate milks, spaghetti and meatballs, a cookie and some veggies. Felt like her last meal in a way.

---

As the whole gang showed up again, Doctor Rufghlei took lead once more. "Saranie, do you wish to harm yourself or others? Like right now."

"No." She stated slightly annoyed.

"Three months ago, Jahvee and Erythann's parents were killed. A house fire. As Doctor Wraimes already told you, Jahvee didn't take it well. Tried to take her own life. She was brought here where for three months she received treatment that Doctor Wraimes had stated in his notes had been working, that she was getting better. That was a lie as Jahvee tried to take her life again, by cutting her wrists. This hospital failed to prevent to see her pain that they claimed they could help her with."

Saranie looked towards Hiberacy and Doctor Wraimes. Each getting a glance before she turned back towards Doctor Rufghlei who continued.

"I do think you need to be moved to a more specialized location, but that wouldn't be best right now. As you are Saranie, I believe moving you would harm you. From your perspective, you just got here. You've made a connection with them and I think taking you away from these connections could strain you."

She copied the way Saranie bowed with her hand over her chest.

"As a doctor, I cannot tell you that what you believe is right. That you closed a portal to save people. I believe in science and what it tells me. Jahvee suffered traumatically recently and you are her alter. You both didn't have parents, you both fought a battle that no one should ever go through and you both cut your wrists. I believe you are not Jahvee who is lying to attempt to harm yourself again. You have self control and I think you can make clear decisions on your own at this time. With more time and care, I believe that you could get out of here and live your life. Doctor Wraimes agrees with me and when we go to that hearing we will be on the same page."

---

Saranie asked for information on everything. Math and science were her first ideas, but she needed to learn how to write. Then she could learn more about this world. In all honesty she was glad that she gotta stay. Her lawyer had mentioned that a 'lawsuit' would be filed due to how Jahvee was treated in the past, for now all Saranie had to do was stay alive, learn and get better.

The hearing took place without Saranie. As Wraimes and Rufghlei had said, she was capable enough to be responsible for her own self. Which was strange to Saranie that she had to be told that, but in the eyes of the law Erythann was still that person. So for small things like food and learning, getting out of here and making a life for herself would take time.

The next day after the hearing, Erythann showed up.

"Hello Saranie."

Saranie was still tired like always, but this time she was standing. Doing her full bow out of respect for this man.

"Hello Erythann. It's nice to meet you again."

"I'm sorry about my quick judgment and misunderstanding. That must have been scary for you."

For Jahvee it would have been from what she heard. "I understand. I truly do understand your feelings. You have no idea how much I know what you are going through."

"Wha…"

"Whether you believe the doctors who say I am some dissociative identity, an alter of your sister Jahvee or you believe me and I'm from another world. Maybe it is something else completely, I don't know. What I know is that when I lost my siblings. Those who left or died in front of me, I didn't know what to do with myself. I did my job as a soldier, pushed on in my fight, but it hurt. They were gone and there was nothing no one could do. Maybe you think that way or you don't, but the pain is the same. The loss. Loneliness. Anger and sadness."

"Maybe she's still in there."

"I won't fault you for believing that, I won't. If she is, I will get her back for you. It might take me a lifetime, but it is my debt to you and her for giving me this second chance. If you two could be reunited for a moment…" Saranie paused letting him think on it before speaking once more. "You don't need to watch what you say. Speak your mind to me, no matter what it is. Anger, let me have it. I stole your sister from you didn't I? Pity, I don't need it. Maybe you just want to cry, to let it out, then do it. Don't hold it back. I know I have done that before and it hurts worse."

"Then I want you to promise me something once more." Erythann stood up. Not sad or angry. Determined would be best. There was disappointment hiding, but Saranie could see it.

"Anything."

"Live your life how you want. Don't dedicate your life to Jahvee. I love her more than anything in this world. I know I want to see her again, but you don't need to do that. You don't need to 'dedicate your life'. It's a waste. If I'm ever meant to see her again, then I will. You just need to live your life."

"Are you sure? I have vague ideas right now, but with more information I could figure out a way for you to see her again."

"No. Promise me you will not actively look. Just live a normal life. Not that mag- Just promise me."

Saranie got down on one knee. If her kingdom requested use of knights, they would pledge their allegiance this way. "I promise on my name and soul, I will adhere to the meaning of your words. If Jahvee is there, then it is up to her to find her way to you." Saranie bowed while still on the ground, arm across her chest, facing down.

"Yes… uh, you didn't need to do that. It's a little weird, sis. I mean Saranie."

"I have had many brothers in my time. I've gotten along with many. Klighare was easy as he was into Retii. They were always together." Saranie's tone turned somber with a smile, facing the ground.

"That wouldn't be weird or bother you if we still hung out?"

"Sure we can 'hung out'!" Saranie said with a cheerful smile. She knew she was using that wrong, but didn't care as it got Erythann to laugh. "Maybe not brother and sister by blood… well I guess so huh… I wouldn't mind getting to know you. There is very little I know about this mysterious brother Jahvee has." Before he could calm down from his laughing fit, Saranie got one last bit in. "If you ever need your sister to handle anyone bullying you, let me know. And if you want, I can teach you a few tricks to sort them out."
