29 CHAPTER 28

Dave and I enter the building. The thing is that the place is totally quiet. There isn't even a guard around, not one.

"This is strange. What is going on here? There is no one here." Dave says.

"Let's keep looking."

We go through some rooms, and I'm getting the vibe that this place was just evacuated recently. For an old school building, there are a lot of doors here and so far we haven't sensed any movement.

"Where is Officer Ross?" I contact Dan. Maybe Officer Ross can help.

"He is supposed to be here by now. I'll check again." Dan replies.

After ten minutes of waiting for a reply from Dan, Dave decides to go there himself. I grab the handle of a door that we didn't notice a few moments ago.

Hell naa!!! We were set up!

There was a bomb in that room with the time left with only five minutes. I turn around and run.

"Dave! Dan! There's a bomb here!"

No reply.

"Dan! Dave! Are you guys there?! We were set up!!" Still no reply. I look at my watch and see that I have only three minutes to get out of this building. I run even faster and make it to the car with only a few seconds left. When I get to the car, I notice some people run away from the car and that the boys are out cold. Since I don't have time for chitchat, I shove Dan out of the drivers seat and jump into me the car. I step on it just in time before the bomb exploded. I chase after the car in front of me.

Shit! Shit!! Shit!!!

"Dan! Dave! Get up! Wake up!" I'm shoving and poking them but they are out cold. I even slapped them but not even a flinch. I focus back to the car I am chasing. The drivers are taking a lot of detours and turns in hope of loosing me. Eventually, when they realized they weren't loosing me anytime soon, one of them started shooting at me. When I looked closely at the shooter, my anger level spikes up to a higher level. I should have know it would be Vivian. I give her my best stink eye and she smirks at me.

I was so busy trying to avoid the bullets that I didn't notice that the car in front of me had stopped in a familiar alley. I look around me and notice Vivian step out of the car.

"Step out of the car! Agent!" She sneers at me. Suddenly, I remember that I have Janice and Ivy on stand by. I tap something on my ear and rapidly type and record a message for them. When I see Vivian approaching the car, I quickly press send and step out.

"Nice to see you again Anaise. Drop the gun now."

"I wish the feeling was mutual but unfortunately it's not. Where's your pretty boyfriend and boss? They chickened out?" I aim the gun towards her.

"Nope! They are right here." She looks back at the car and my eye follows her movement.

"Adrian in the house y'all! Who missed me?"

"The dogs did. Now where's the big dog?"

"Tsk tsk tsk! You wound me Anaise." He moves forward, coming towards me.

"Stay where you are!"

"I only want to show you who the big boss is. Look behind you."

I hesitantly look back.

"It's been long Anaise!" Is all I hear before my vision goes black.

Where the hell am I?

I look at my surroundings and realize where I am. I'm in the police station, tied to a chair.

Someone enters the room and I look up to the familiar face.

"Welcome back Agent! The last time you were here was... last week I think."

"Officer Ross you traitor! Why would you do this? You were behind this all this while? Why?!" I struggle against my chair.

"It's simple. I was never working for the agency. I only pretended to 'help' out for free. After all that help I gave, you repaid me by sending my daughter to jail."

"Your daughter? I don't know what you are talking about! I never sent your daughter to jail."

"Oh but you did. My sweet Jasmine."

Who the hell Is Jasmine?! He is crazy!

"I don't know who the hell Jasmine is. You are crazy. Let me go!!" I rub my ring on the rope. It has a blade in it that I'm using to set myself free.

"Jasmine! Come here darling." The person that comes into the room makes me as confused as a goat.

"Vivian?! You're Jasmine?! What the hell?!" I yell.

"Meet my daughter, Jasmine."

"Heyyyy! I'm Jasmine." She smiles sweetly at me and even offers her hand for a handshake. When she sees the way I'm glaring at her, she retracts her hand and wrinkles her nose.

"Jasmine's mother and I had a divorce but I didn't know she was pregnant. Some years later, I found out that I had a daughter who was abandoned. After years of searching, I found out that she was under the Agency's care. All I did was to send Adrian along and bring her back to me. The fell in love on the way, that wasn't my doing. Now she will rule with me after we get rid of you." He finishes his story and they smirk at me.

"Jasmine, take care of her. I'll be back."

"Yes father." Officer Ross leaves the room, leaving me alone with Vivian-turned-Jasmine-since-God-knows-how-long. I keep on rubbing my ring on the rope.

"Why couldn't you just let the bomb kill you?"

"I needed you whoop your ass first."

"Still feisty I see." She grabs me by my chin and raises my head.

"Still stupid I see."

"Watch your mouth!"

"It's the truth. You never listened when Mentor told us that always take away any form of gadget or technology from a captive."

"Huh?!" Her eyes widen in realization at what I'm talking about but it's too late. I knee her and send a punch towards her when I cut off the rope. She falls on the ground, groaning in pain.

I pick a knife from my boot and cut off the rope from leg. When I look up, I see her charging towards me. She lands a punch on my stomach and it hurts like hell. I step back and kick her. I hold her waist and flip her back. She reaches for my knife that I dropped and tries to stab me with it as she is pinned underneath me. She manages to stab my side with the knife and pushes me off her.

"It's time to say night night Agent." She is pointing a gun at me that I didn't see her holding before.

I see her pull the trigger and I close my eyes and await the impact of a gunshot. All I heard was a groan before a thump. I open my eyes to see Ivy and Janice holding a taser to Vivian-Jasmine's back.

"Anaise!" The both day, coming to my side.

"Hey guys. How are you here?"

"We got your message and contacted your Mentor but we couldn't sit around and do nothing so we traced you back here." Ivy explains.

"It's this crazy Vivian again." Janice says before kicking Vivian-Jasmine's unconscious body, earning another groan from her.

"Wait, where are the boys?"

"Oh yeah! They were fighting some other people. Let's go."

"Help me up please and Janice hand me that gun. Let's go!"

Okay!okay!! Some shit went down. Did you like this scene? It's hard to write fighting scenes but I tried sha😅 So it was Officer Ross all along. Who did you think it was?
