11 Chapter 10

Chapter 10

(Rosabella P.O.V)

I held my new phone tightly on my way to the kitchen. I had a phone before in the Mundane Society, but never this advanced. I searched up my contacts and see some familiar names in my list, but I also see some I don't recognize.

This is awesome... I get to text anyone now.

I poured myself some fruity pebbles. Ding! My phone shined.

I took a big spoonful of my cereal before sitting to see what my phone dinged about. There was a new message from Gabriel.

Gabriel 10:57pm

Are you still up?

Me 10:57pm

In deed I am.

Missing me already Lord Gabriel?

Gabriel 10:59pm

Just making sure Cayden gave you your phone after my leave.

Nothing to front about  my dear.

Me 11:03pm

Did you guys make it in one piece?

Gabriel 11:03pm

In deed we did.

Are you Worried for me my dear?

I scoff and chuckle as I read his response. He sure is full of himself. I smile deeply as image Gabriel hunched in bed texting me. I took another spoonful, I focus my attention to the kitchen door, I heard footsteps heading my way.

"Cayden." I smile putting down my phone.

"Hello there." He smiles and stand on the other side of the counter.

My phone Dings a few times but I ignore as I kept eating.

"Busy are we?" Cayden eyes my phone.

"Gabriel... Your brother is just making sure I got the phone." I say shy.

"Tell him to leave you alone and to focus on what he's going to say to the Masters in the damn morning."

"What are the Masters?" I ask him leaning in with interest.

"The Masters are four elders of each species who form a tribunal and dictate The first realm."

"But Gabriel is a king." I say trying to piece how a tribunal out weighs a king.

"As King of the first realm, Gabriel is in charge of everything pretty much and rules over vampires, crescents, witches, warlocks and soul takers... But The Masters are the law here in the first realm." Cayden explains as he pours himself some blood and scotch. "They get to pass judgment on all of those who reside in the first realm. If it was all left to Gabriel, I'd fear for everyone."

"Ah..." I nod starting to understand. "Gabriel must tell them why he killed that crescent."

"He does. but 'tis law that if a marked one is harmed the person whose marked one has been harmed can pass judgment." Cayden takes a sip of his drink.

"So why does Gabriel have to see them, if he passed judgement like the law allows him to?"

"Because he killed the crescent... I doubt you know this, but it is the first time the vampire king has ever killed a member of the first realm to defend his marked one... Usually a hand, a finger or two has been taken... And that was when two of his marked one were killed." Cayden's eyes dart to me. "But he deemed death would be punishment for harming you... You do see why his sudden actions caused eyebrows to raise."

I stare speechlessly as Cayden simply smiles and shrugs at me. "Do not worry, It's not like you possess something in your mundane blood... or do you?"

I lower my head and stare at my hands. It's my fault he's going through this. He didn't even make seem like a big deal. But it is. My phone kept beeping to the point it was no longer acceptable to ignore. I picked up my phone and looked at the screen. 7 Missed calls and 10 new messages.

Gabriel 11:03pm

In deed we did.

Are you Worried for me my dear?

Gabriel 11:07pm

Cat caught your thumbs?  •11:11pm

Rosa dear?  •11:20pm

Are you mad?  •11:23pm

Rosa, answer the phone. •11:29pm

It's impossible you've fallen asleep so fast. •11:35pm

I am CALLING you. •11:42pm

Rosabella, please answer the phone. I know your phone has battery or else it would send me straight to voicemail!   •11:49pm

I'm getting upset. I do not want to get upset, so please answer.  •11:56pm

Shit... I got up and placed my bowl in the sink.

"Gabriel is freaking out, I have to call him." I told Cayden as I said my goodnight to him.

"Rose, stay in side while you're on the phone please." He winks at me and chugs the last bit of his drink

I made my way to my room and called Gabriel who quickly answered before the second ring.

"Hello?" His voice... it sounds just as if he were here with me.

"Hey... Sorry I-"

"So you were ignoring me... Nice to know." He spat.

"No, Cayden and I were talking about why you're over there seeing the master and who and what they are." I spat right back.

"I already told you, why would you ask him?" I could sense a little hostility from him.

"Because you sugar coated it, and he did not." I flung myself to my bed holding my phone close to my ear. I lay on my back staring up to the dark ceiling.

"I did it not to worry you." He spoke after a moment of silence.

"No, you did it to keep me out of the equation." Why am I being so bratty to him? I sighed and sat up. "Let's just forget the matter please... I'm going to bed."

"Are you upset with me?" He asks.

I nod. "No, just tired."

"Rosa, you have a very important visit in the morning... I want you to rest." As he spoke I wandered up and went out the balcony and glanced over the lake that the reflection of the moon glisten and danced on the surface. It's incredibly cold out.

"Visit?" I repeat.

"I have arranged for your mundane family to see you in the morning." He said proudly.

I felt my heart stop, if I wasn't gripping the phone tightly I know I would have dropped it. Why am I suddenly so upset to know they are coming? I wiped my tears away and cleared my throat.

"Are you alright?" He asks.

"I am... don't worry." I tried to sound okay but I couldn't do it. I know he must know I'm so how affected by this.

"You wish not to see them?" He asks sounding somewhat understanding.

"Gabriel-" The call dropped. I tried calling him back but my phone went dead. I saw my battery percentage, it was at least seventy percent. Why would my phone go dead?

"It's a lovely night." My body froze, I look to my side to see that woman who I had met at the moon party sitting over the edge of the stone railing looking at the moon with a child-like smile. "How I wish every night could display a full moon and dancing stars."

"Why are you here?" I ask feeling uneasy.

"I was wondering when you'd be left alone." She ignores me. "I was beginning to think I might have had to start a fire to get you out of the manor." She laughs and cocks her head at me.

"I will scream." I said trying to walk back into my room but my legs wouldn't move. The woman began to laugh as she saw me try to move.

"Maybe if you move your left leg maybe." She taunts me as she steps down from the ledge she walks towards me holding her right hand in a fist up just below her shoulder.

"What do you want?" I demanded as I felt myself shake with fear and rage.

"To talk." She smiles and lets go of her fits and I suddenly felt mobile. "I've been meaning to ask you something." She smiles widely showing me her white pearly teeth.

"So talk." I crossed my arms and stared her down.

"You know of the Tellurian's and their drama... right?" She asks as she skips back and forth on my small balcony. Frankly her jejune attitude is getting on my nerve.

"You're referring to what?" I ask coldly.

"You know why Bethany left these ingrates? Why she left her home?!" Her attitude and posture changed as she now stood before me and gave me a death glare.

"I've heard the stories." I say.

"Good, you must play an important part my lovely Rose." She tried to caress my face but I slapped it hard away.

When my hand touched hers for a split second I felt an electrical shock rush from my fingers to the palm of my hand. I stared down to my hand trying to see if she had done anything to my hand.

"What-" She began as she stared at me puzzled. She then forcefully took a hold of my hand and closed her eyes. I felt my body trembled as another electrical rushes throughout my body and out the hand she held. She pushes my hand away and held her hand up to me, her face angry.

I felt myself dizzy as I simply stare at her questionably as I took a few step back. If I keep stepping back I can probably get in my room and call for help. I stare at the woman as she looks with disbelief from her hand to me.

"Who in your family is of magic!" She asks holding her fits up and seizing me where I stood.

"Magic?" What the hell is she talking about? "Look. Son-Sonia, right ?" I spoke trying to calm the situation and get her to free me.

"I know a witch when I feel one... But you're not a full witch, probably why you don't retaliate back at me." She said. "You're a pythoness... A human father but a witch for a mother." She says amazed.

"Like the ones who tell the future?" I asks sounding disheartened.

"Don't sound so broken hearted... You are rather strong amongst us witches and warlocks... But you know nothing of that." She lets go of her fit freeing me.

"I'm nothing of what you say... My mother and father are both humans." I says taking another step back. I must be two or one feet away from the door.

"You really must think I am stupid?" She asks making me stop all movements. "I already took you Rosabella... They won't notice you're gone till after you awake."

"Awake?" I ask.

"Yes my love," She then takes my hand causing that electric rush again and smiles up at me. "I took you the minute the phone died... You're in the dungeon of our house as we speak... I just wanted to have a one on one with you before you awake to your new life." She smiles and as she did she started to become transparent, more and more to the point she no longer was in front of me and holding me.

I felt myself being pulled and it all went dark before I opened my eyes and I laid of the cold ground. I stood up and saw I was in a cell. In the other side of the cell stood Sonia and another woman who dressed in a tight black silk gown. She looks oddly familiar. My eyes widen once I realized that she's Bethany. Gabriel, Cayden and Othilia's Sister.

"What?" I ask coming closer to the rusted old bars that separated us. "Why?"

Bethany gave me a sinister smile as she stepped closer. "Because I want to."

"They will know I am gone." I spat angrily.

"I sure do hope so, lamentable for you I must admit." She chuckles. "For you will not get out of this alive."

Bethany then kisses Sonia and whispers in her ear. Sonia gave me a smile and got close to the cell as Bethany walks out of the room.

"You better rest now." Sonia says trying to sound comforting. "She tends to send a message for her brother and we need you well rested."
