17 A Different School Day

It's school and Yumi and Jamie walk through the halls with me. By now everyone knows the truth. The goodie two shoes nobody, is pregnant. "Knock knock, you knocked up slut" Written on my locker. "What the hell is this?!" Yumi says. "It's fine... I won't make a scene..." I say as I open it and put my books in it. "Are you sure?" Jamie asks. "I'm sure. I'm not that type of girl" I say. I turn around and smile at him. "How was the sloppy second from Jamie?" A popular cheerleader says. "Oh shut up, Tammy. You personality is even faker than your boyfriends." Yumi says. "I'm surprised. Are you willing to fight with me?" Tammy says. "Yes, yes I am." Yumi says. "Please stop. School is the same. The only difference is ME." I say. "I have history now so I'll see you guys at lunch..." I say. The bell rings and I sit there in class. I start to doze off. "Jane, you ok there?" The teacher asks. "I think she's about to puke. Ya know." Tammy says. "Can you back off, Tammy?" I say. "Settle down class and get to work." The teacher says.

It's now after school and i sit at the dorms. "I don't understand. People either pity me or hate me. I seriously DON'T GET IT." I say. "I mean, you are carrying a Jumin inside your tummy." Yumi says. "Yes, I am. But does that make me any different than before?" I ask. "Better yet, what are you gonna do with it?" Jamie asks. "I want to always be close with her. But I can't tell her her mother was a teenage slut so I am giving it to my cousin. They've been planning to adopt. We agreed that I can spend a year with the baby and then give it to them." I say. "Jonathan is coming today too." Jamie says. "Tell me when he does so I can hide in my room." Yumi Says. "Ok..?" I say. "Well school isn't over yet so I'll see you guys later." I say. I wave and then leave.

It's after school and I stay in the bathroom. "Jane?" Yumi says. "I should've never let people know..." I say, crying. I look down. "Jane, it's not you're fault-" "It is! I should've never slept with Tom, I should've listened to Jamie and this wouldn't happen..." I say. "It's not your fault... It's not like you planned for this to happen." Yumi says. "What will my parents say? My parents know some people's parents, even Tammy's dad!" I say. "Just, say it's a rumor." Yumi says. "Ok... I'm just going to go home now. I'll say I'm sick." I say. I take my bags and then go home.

"Is this true young lady?" My dad asks. "Of course not. I had to go home cause I'm sick..." I say. "Honey, you need to tell us so we can take care of you properly!" My mom say. "So?.. What if I am? Does it change who I am..?" I ask. "Honey, of course not." My mom says. My dad stands there looking at me. "Dad..." I say. "I have to go back to work..." He says. He leaves and shuts the door. "He hates me... Doesn't he?" I ask. "He's just... Upset" my mom says. "Why did you come here instead of your dorm?" My mom asks. "I just wanted to go home..." I say. "And you ARE home honey..." she says. "You can come stay in your old room..." She adds.
