20 Succulent meat

A lone sigh escaped my lips.

Making this was quite complicated initially, but Cehn had helped with the other ingredients to give it the ceramic look I recalled from home.

"Are you sure lining the bathrooms like this is worth all of this effort?"

Cehn asked while I relaxed high up, what question is this?

I had plans for this house. It will not be disposable like a onetime use or left to rot or be used by another, I'm not that kind.

Rather, this will be taken with me and used similarly to a tent.

Pull it out to sleep in, then simply place it back when I'm done, fewer worries and work in the future. Looking at the suns in the sky already from the three suns, one had disappeared from this area. It seems this world spins much slower than the earth. No wonder the days and nights were so damn long.

"I will be storing this house as well in my ring, so if when we have the next test it can be used. I'm sure you have thought about that, right?" I questioned, then turned my head to look at him, wondering what he looked like under his helmet for the first time.

"I see, then travelling with you was wise,"

He dipped his head and then turned away.

I ignored him relaxing a bit, closing my eyes and relaxing my body. Memories that I wanted to look over flashed through my mind.

Oh, how this body had suffered, how the mother had sacrificed sigh.

It was all worth it though; I am alive using this body after dying such a ridiculous death just recalling how I stumbled to my death and then eaten was ludicrous beyond everything I can ever.. Sigh.

We both died but one had probably become nothing, was sent for reincarnation or is waiting to be judged by whatever deity had been charged with that task.

A light sound was heard. Slowly I opened my eyes, turning them into slits somewhat puzzled, then slight joy.

So they had survived on this journey, mmm then it was good I remember their meat it was juicy when cooked for a day and filled with nutrients that were hard to come by on this world naturally.

Rising slowly I crouched trying to figure out how many they were, the others were focused on building and with such silent movements, lacking scents I was positive that they were still unaware.

If I alarm them, these predators would dash away and seek out another meal.

I did not want that, so it was best to attack them quickly before they all got away.

Each move I made brought me closer to the one detached from the others. Of course, they would not pay much mind to this weak one, but that was OK meat would be easier to get!

With a twist I broke its neck quickly and tossed it into my ring, then moved to the next, the scales were tough so breaking the neck was easier the bones in that area were not as compact as the rest of its body but protected by spikes and armoured scales tightly grown in that area.

The twin tails swished while the clawed hands were loose at their sides, sharp double rows of teeth bared while the slip of twin tongues scented the air. Four eyes two on each side swivelled around in three hundred and sixty directions, powerful hind legs were balanced for it to stand straight at seven feet they were small for a predatory species but in packs of ten to thirty, they were a powerful bunch able to kill even a powerful alpha.

From the looks of it, this group was probably a group of twenty before, but had been reduced to ten making their number half... Mmm... It was unexpected that only ten were lost perhaps their group were larger but I could not tell.

Suffering probably through the grasslands, picked off one by one until these few escaped.

Well, now they will suffer the same, serving as my meal for the winter. No matter how smart they were or powerful, their meat was too good to pass up.

On my fourth the others noticed my presence and panicked, making an ear-piercing cry, annoyed I snapped the neck of the one nearby then dashed after the retreating others.

Tch, how dare they get away their meat was so succulent.

Taking out two more I tossed the bodies aside signalling for the boy to store it when I drew to a halt before me below was a young one and trying to protect it was the remainder.

Four, four of the beautiful meat was in front of me, and I paused,

"Don't blame me, I didn't start this,"

The baby looked pitiful, I stared at it for a moment. I've killed so many young before; they were not even as tasty as these beasts, but why when I see this small one I just couldn't anymore?

I could tell by the thin form it was hungry, and as if possessed, I pulled out a chunk of meat and tossed at them, then an extra before turning away.

Compensation for killing the others, they probably will not survive the night but I didn't care now, I had sufficient meat I presumed inwardly, maybe another pack would pass through and I can kill those off to even if that one had a young, I will kill it.
