"So? We are still human – at least, mostly," he replied, then proceeded to plant a kiss on my forehead while lifting me and standing in a single, fluid motion.

"Wow!" I exclaimed in my mind, feeling utterly thrilled. "His movements! Ah, such ease!" It was extremely similar to the extinct panther.

I found myself in a daze while he held me. Then his words brought me back to reality.

"It has been a while since the last meal, Tyna,"

As if in sudden protest my stomach rumbled like a traitor, so I said in a demure voice, bending my head, "Mmm... I'm hungry." 

He chuckled, the rumble shaking me as he held me in his arms while his chest vibrated, then he spoke once again, perhaps just for information. 

"I will prepare the meal."

"School will have a break soon and we will be able to visit our homes. Will you be returning to yours?"
