Krystal gazed at her spawn, her wonderful daughter she had birthed as a human. How weak this little spawn had been as they had fled to the mortal lands. How could she from that bloodline think that back then they would treat her, a mere defect, as nothing but air?

Her mates had died, shortening her lifespan during their fight for her to flee. Heartbroken, Kystal had neglected the egg she carried, causing the spawn her mates had painstakingly fertilized, without the much needed nurturing from its mother during the early stages of its development, to be born weak.

It was because of her that her spawn had been severely weak and sickly.
