48 Light Weights

Not long after, Wincu entered the room. She looked around a bit then smiled, approaching me.

"Our work is finished. I have been taught by the best, so it's easy."

"Mmm. Wincu, our practical work is fine, but when the major test comes for us to enter the secondary school in five years, we must survive."

"Wu Jie, I am aware, and this one promises to obey her master."

I sighed, my face growing serious. It is true; we presently had a master-servant contract. With this, I am fully satisfied with the way Wincu conducted herself throughout the last five years. In the class, she was ranked fourth, now keeping in that place with little effort.

I was satisfied with this; I found it appropriate, while I was, at present, ranked ninth, after moving up one.

Of course, our rooms remained the same, which in itself was desirable to me. Even though my roommate was a bane, having her around is still somewhat manageable. I mean, she is still living and all of her limbs are still attached! Of course, me slow poisoning her is another story all together.

Stealing food is bad, especially several times in a row.

"There is no need to call me master. Even though you have been informed of our contract, I will not pressure you. For one who has shown her loyalty up to this point, especially when there had been a problematic situation."

After keeping Wincu at a distance, for the duration of around two years. I had one day sat and informed her of our contract. This was something that even though I had thought at first Wincu was not worth any effort, she had instead proven that she was indeed of some worth by working hard.

"In society, this is how things are." Wincu said in a small voice, looking extremely demure.

My eyes slanted. Even if what Wincu had stated was a fact, I have my own opinions. Even then, it is best that Wincu is informed now rather than later if she truly wishes to become a competent meat shield. I am not one to accept the values of others. On a side note, she should take note that this is the junior school. Therefore, the rules here differed vastly from those in the secondary school.

"In society, things will be like that – perhaps in the secondary school where common and noble children will mix with the older students to form loyal life-long slaves – but for now, we must stay vigilant."

"Alright, Wu Jie,"

I smiled at her, turning to enter the closet. A moment later, holding the body hugging suit, I quickly slipped it on; it seemed to cling to my skin like a second layer. Today I wanted to exercise earlier while bringing Wincu along.

A while later, after taking the transporter, we arrived in the stipulated destination.

Inside was quite large. It was around the size of an American football field or maybe larger. At the time, I had never bothered to pay much attention when all of that was explained by the trainer.

Inside was filled with various pieces of equipment that, though similar to those back on earth, was at the same time vastly different.

For example, the dumbbells pretty much looked the same as what you'd expect were heavier - usually from around four or (as a stretch) six kilograms for the lightest.

For someone who studied the body for ah, personal reasons, it's well known that training is simply… science.

Dancing in order for me to still look slim and feminine but have muscles in all the right places –  a*s, chest, legs, arms – I truly had to put in the due effort. From the time I was a child I had been weak, but had explosive power-

The memory, which had risen slowly, suddenly was cut off.

Alright, no problem, I can still try to figure out everything. Damn system!

Back home, people would be able to lift up to around forty kilograms through training, but here, things seemed to be a lot different.

The trainer suddenly spoke up. "Lightweights are in this section: from eighty kilograms to one hundred and twenty."

WHAT?

I wanted to flip a table because, truthfully, it was extremely preposterous for my "earthling" mind to comprehend this concept. Luckily, the system helped block both my emotions and my body's adverse reactions to those emotions, and so I adjusted splendidly.

There were fifteen rooms for realistic simulations. This was great and all, but I had no love for this simulation -  only actually using the room when the trainer had specifically stated that I had to and so, without a choice, I'd enter and begin the training.

The main training area was where students exchanged moves with swords, knives, spears, and other melee weapons. I even noticed some weapons that I believed were lost from earth. There was the bagh nakh which was widely known as the "tiger claw" an Indian martial arts weapon and the bolo, a large single edge knife which was used in the Philippines. I was a bit lost because I had been all too aware of its usual meaning "be on the lookout" but shrugged because even though I knew a bit about weapons, I didn't know everything.

I did have my favoured weapons. A stick can apply blunt force trauma or internal bleeding, even blood clots! I thought of all the pain my victim will feel and their-

Ah, right I think I was going off-topic now. Anyway, the Bo staff is one of my favourites and the all-time cane. Yes! I know that a cane can be used for both walking and, when in need, a weapon. Some went as far to hide a sword within what looked like a simple cane for "emergency" use, on the other hand, it was also known as a martial arts weapon. For example, what Cehn Sie practised was known in my past life as hapkido; it was he who had informed me that they also used canes as a weapon.

Shocked and excited, I had asked him to tell me about it and oh he did – explaining in detail the wonderful intricacies of harming your enemy.

I fell in love with him then, thinking how much blood he had spilt and lives he had taken. Of course, his bloodlust was not like the other one –  but it was close. Ah, so close! I smiled as I thought of putting these things I was learning into practice.

Moving on, I finished taking in the exercise area, glancing at the weight training section and sky machines that resembled treadmills that floated slightly. Also, the treadmill itself changed to different terrains: one could run on a trail run, seaside run, or simply the smooth road surface.

It was good to know that exercising didn't change much here either.

One could still do basic moves squats, deadlifts, lunges, pull-ups and various exercises, but they each had their own unique twists to them.
