104 Is anyone there?

"Five days … in that? Will I not die?"

The voice that had escaped my dry cracked lips was small. It sounded weak and filled with utter disbelief. 

They had laughed at me back then. "Ah, ha, haha!" The sound had been a nightmare to my ears. I had questioned – like the naive little girl that I was – as to the reason. Too dumb to realise that it was a fate worse than death, a fate that would drive me close to the brink and that the one I believed in would simply –  with an untainted smile – push me off the edge.

Ah, but now in this form it was glorious, almost as glorious as what occurred after the fact.

"You will not die. Have you forgotten what happened before and you healed almost immediately afterwards?"

Nonsense! Utter, nonsense! 

With those words, I had been snatched up and thrown in the stomach of the beast.

I tried to struggle and escape, but the entrance had been closed, and I was trapped.
