49 Dilemma

"Wu Jie are you sure you will just-"

"Wu Jie…"

I sighed, I knew this voice. It was another bane and, truthfully, I could not for the life of me wait to run away. But, just for today, I decided to hold my ground.

"Greetings, student Wong."

"Greetings, student Wu Jie and student Asientes," he greeted, arriving at my side. I groaned inwardly. Like Wincu, Wong aged extremely well.

Unlike most fourteen-year-old children, Wong grew tall, looking around the age of sixty instead of fifty (16) with a triangular shaped upper body; broad shoulders, chest and narrow waist with long lean but powerful legs.

Simply put, there was nothing delicate about Wong's body. Like the majority of the males here, he trained more than twice daily.

But if you didn't get lost in his well-developed form, you would start to salivate from his face alone, which was so beautiful it would put a woman to shame. Even though his hair was not long but cut close to his head, he still made every girl look at him and sigh from pleasure.

Behind him was the most hated person, the foolish boy who had made me almost lose myself five years ago on that island.

"Greetings to students Wu Jie and Asientes!"

"Greetings to student Vyins," both Wincu and I echoed in unison.

While Wong had short hair, this one Vyins had a bowl cut that gave him a boyish look. His body was well developed as well, but it paled in comparison to Wong's – or maybe I was a bit too biased.

"It is rare to see student Wu Jie," Wong voiced from where he stood. Of course, he did not lie. For every single subject, once it was over, I took the opportunity to escape. My grades were decent enough that the lecturers found no need to bother me in person but rather send a simple message, which in itself was extremely rare.

"Mmm." I replied, not willing to say anymore.

"What are you planning to train today?" Wong asked softly. He was already close; those looking at us from afar would think that he wanted to confess something, with his constant infatuated look. Seriously, he is simply drawing those moths to his flame!

Go away! I don't want to be bothered by those moths!

I really wanted to rip off his head, but ah-

"We are not familiar with each other that well, please have some shame and leave before I lose my patience."

It is true he should show shame and run away, but it seems he didn't have any because he still stared with that almost puppy dog look.

"So shameless. Look at her standing so close to student Wong!"

What the-

"…"

"She is ranked Ninth but is so cowardly, I just don't understand why would the perfect student Wong – ranked first in B class – would even bother with such a pathetic-looking girl."

"You might not know it, but it seems that it's because of student Asientes, who is ranked third."

"Ah, really?"

"Yes-"

"Shut up before I tear both your mouths off!" someone suddenly snarled.

The voice I did not recognise, but it didn't matter right now since they all went silent. This person probably had some status. I sighed. This was normal; students simply love to gossip. It was quite interesting to hear them speak of such matters as if they were fact but sigh … who would believe that someone ranked first in B class would be interested in the ranked ninth student? It was also obvious that this student Wong could have been in the A class but he seemed to prefer the B class and, well, it seems I am the one holding him back.

Truthfully, I have an idea. It was simply him showing his gratitude for saving his life. But what will I do with him but treat him like eye candy and become infatuated with his beauty?

"Student-"

Clenching my fist and gritting my teeth.

I tried my best not to snap.

All my hard work.. I had no desire to have it taken, but this constant nagging boy?!

I will not be pulled down, and I will not be blinded by his beauty!

Just then, as if sensing my dilemma, Wincu stepped forward.

"Student Wong, if you-"

A cold look passed over Wong's face immediately, making him look oddly fierce. I felt a sudden shock at what I was seeing. I mean – why such a fierce look towards the beautiful Wincu? It is true, at first I was startled, but now I thought to myself that this was probably his true self.

Cold, arrogant and detached from those he saw as beneath him.

"Student Asientes, I was referring to student Wu Jie. There is no need for you to bother speaking when not spoken to."

I wanted to rub my temples in annoyance but could not at the moment, in order to avoid anymore attention – or gossip, for that matter. So instead, I sucked in a breath then lifted my head to speak, but felt like I wanted to get away as quickly as possible. As panic overtook me, my gaze was drawn to and landed upon someone that I wished with everything in me I hadn't seen.
