37 A Bit Overpriced

The lecturer turned to Cehn. I blinked, wondering how she would react when she saw the number of items Cehn had, since her reaction to Wincu was a bit... much.

My excitement rose at the comically fleeting emotions and my heart accelerated. I felt my jaws aching for a moment but I ignored it, thinking to myself, "This will be a worthy show …any moment now…"

<warning! Warning host excitement level has peaked above the required 5%. Please stay calm. Administering shock in an attempt to reduce slight occurring characteristic changes.>

I flinched at the slight shock, snapping out of the building excitement immediately.

<For f*ck sakes, system – I have enough vitality now, don't I? Why can't you let me experience normal emotions!?>

<Emotions will be allowed to explored slightly upon mating with the intended mate. Once you have been safely anchored for that time frame able express some emotions an extent>

With those mechanical words, in a voice unable to be identified as male or female, I froze –  even though I was being zapped inwardly.

My mind started to wonder; after all dropping something as heavy as "that" would make someone –

I was confused immediately, wanting to question the system about this "mating", but I thought to myself that the system might stay silent and, as a result, I might become much more curious. So, instead, I allowed it to slide, cutting off all wandering thoughts that attempted to even surface. I focused instead on the room itself, along with the female lecturer who, at present, was about to approach Cehn.

The lecturer spoke up again. her demeanour steady once again. I had to applaud her for her quick composure. This was, however, probably from the many years of experience she had, I suppose.

"Please place the wrist band on, Mr Cehn. Everything will be the same as the previous students' experience."

"Understood," Cehn replied in an indifferent tone, eyes void of emotion. I sighed; he has changed so much from that blabbermouth boy into this.

Isn't this a bit too drastic?

The thought that he had transmigrated as well crossed my mind, but I tossed that aside. He seemed average, of course, there is the fact that his learning ability is extremely high but that's about it; nothing else seems abnormal.

The lecturer began to stutter I resisted the urge to laugh. Actually there was not much resisting; right now I could not laugh since I was trying not to fall on the floor and twitch from the shock still rampaging through my body.

F*ck, this system seems to enjoy abusing me!

"Alright... Please... Wha... What is this..? All of these materials, priceless... Hello... Peter.. Yes... Mmm... I need you to... Its an emergency... We have a student who has one of the... Just come and you will see."

I sighed when the shocks finally died down enough for me to focus. Meanwhile, this woman seemed like she would pass out from a different type of shock.

In a way, this was my fault. Giving Cehn that beast was maybe a mistake, but seeing how entertaining everything is I think it was a wonderful win the amount of money that he will receive from this … ah!

Totally worth it.

"Mr Cehn, did you kill this?"

"I did," he replied without showing any form of discomfort, or any other unnecessary reaction.

Well, he did kill it, if it was a few months ago he would have become a meat pie but now I bet Cehn will be the perfect bodyguard.

At that time I had given him an ultimatum: kill it and live or  don't kill it and die.

Since he had the will to both prove himself and become stronger he did not hesitate in jumping into the face of danger.

He had been tossed like a salad. I had sat there leisurely watching with some blood rose juice, (the buds looked nothing like roses, I knew but –  hey! – to each their own). I added blood and honey; I was a little heavy on the blood – I knew that too!

The fight had been one-sided the majority of the time, though eventually Cehn had found the few openings needed.

He had suffered a lot during that fight but, in the end, he had all four limbs still attached – even if his right arm was hanging on a bit. The point was, he survived and this was his haul.

"Amazing! You are such an amazing child! I need to confirm the correct price for this item."

Ah yes –  the price for this was high at the school. I'd passed over it when calculating my haul but I still thought it was a bit overpriced if I had to ask, but meh. The thing had good meat and its fur was extremely useful. Plus, this will make Cehn extremely wealthy.

"Alright," Cehn said, looking at me from the corner of his eye, I spared him a half-smile which in turn made him look away quickly.

I felt kind of annoyed that he would look away but then shrugged it off; he probably didn't want to draw attention to me.
